Wodehouse Narrator: Jonathan Cecil Format: Unabridged Length: 6 hrs and 57 mins Language: English Release date: 07-22-05 Publisher: Audible Studios Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 244 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: Trapped in rural Steeple Bumpleigh, a man less stalwart than Bertie Wooster would probably have given way at the knees. For among those present were Florence Craye, to who Bertie had once been engaged...and her new fiance 'Stilton' Cheesewright, who regarded Bertie as a snake in the grass...also Zenobia Hopwood and her guardian Lord Worplesdon, whose violent antipathy to 'Boko' Fittleworth amounted to obsession...and that biggest blot on the landscape, Edwin the Boy Scout, doing acts of kindness out of sheer malevolence. All Bertie's forebodings were fully justified. For in his efforts to oil the wheels of commerce, promote the course of true love, and avoid the consequences of a vendetta, he became the prey of all and sundry. Complete disaster was only avoided by the genius of Jeeves, who extricated the young master with a ploy as smoothly executed as it was brilliantly conceived. ©Trustees of the Wodehouse Estate; (P)2014 Audible, Inc.

Title: Countless Hues of Crimson Author: Pip Ballantine, Tee Morris Narrator: Pip Ballantine Format: Unabridged Length: 2 hrs and 17 mins Language: English Release date: 01-26-17 Publisher: Imagine That! Studios Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 9 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: From the writers of the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences comes the erotic novel you haven't been waiting for. Anastasia Brassingware is a daughter of English aristocracy, but her station has been brought low by her father's belief in ridiculous quick schemes. Now forced into penury, she must take any menial job. A chance meeting with enigmatic pineapple merchant, Lord Heathcliff Redd, has changed everything. Drawn in by his brooding ways, the maiden discovers the pineapple merchant's darker pleasures, and technological wonders that do more than just core his tropical bounties with ease. Take caution, dear listener. This is a novel of shadow, of desire, and of wanton lust. This novella is not a collection of standing orders for a clandestine organization within Her Majesty's government. No sir. No how. No way. Nowhere in this scintillating novel of erotic perversion are coded messages intended for agents that investigate the strange, the bizarre, and the unnatural. No. In this novella is good British smut, just the way God intended. This is the story of a wide-eyed ingénue innocent to carnal pleasures, a wealthy English lord with a pineapple fetish, and fresh fruit bending to their will. No standing orders whatsoever.

Title: Dear Dwayne, with Love Author: Eliza Gordon Narrator: Carly Robins Format: Unabridged Length: 10 hrs and 32 mins Language: English Release date: 01-23-18 Publisher: Brilliance Audio Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 3 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: Wannabe actress Dani Steele's résumé resembles a cautionary tale on how not to be famous. She's pushing thirty and stuck in a dead-end insurance job, and her relationship status is holding at uncommitted. With unbearably perfect sisters and a mother who won't let her forget it, Dani has two go-tos for consolation: maple scones and a blog in which she pours her heart out to her celebrity idol. He's the man her father never was, no boyfriend will ever be - and not so impossible a dream as one might think. When Dani learns that he's planning a fund-raising event where the winning amateur athlete gets a walk-on in his new film, she decides to trade pastries and self-doubt for running shoes and a sexy British trainer with adorable knees. But when Dani's plot takes an unexpected twist, she realizes that her happy ending might have to be improvised - and that proving herself to her idol isn't half as important as proving something to herself. This is a work of fiction. While Dwayne Johnson p/k/a The Rock is a real person, events relating to him in the book are a product of the author's imagination. Mr. Johnson is not affiliated with this book, and has not endorsed it or participated in any manner in connection with this book.

Title: Ratner's Star Author: Don DeLillo Narrator: Jacques Roy Format: Unabridged Length: 15 hrs and 53 mins Language: English Release date: 12-05-17 Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio Ratings: 3 of 5 out of 2 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: One of DeLillo's first novels, Ratner's Star follows Billy, a genius adolescent who is recruited to live in obscurity, underground, as he tries to help a panel of estranged, demented, and yet lovable scientists communicate with beings from outer space. It is a mix of quirky humor, science, and mathematical theories as well as the complex emotional distance and sadness people feel. Ratner's Star demonstrates both the thematic and prosaic muscularity that typifies DeLillo's later and more recent works, like The Names.

Title: Penelope Author: Rebecca Harrington Narrator: Emily Rankin Format: Unabridged Length: 9 hrs and 33 mins Language: English Release date: 12-05-17 Publisher: Random House Audio Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: When Penelope O'Shaunessy, "an incoming freshman of average height and lank hair", steps into Harvard Yard for the first time, she has lots of advice from her mother: "Don't be too enthusiastic, don't talk to people who seem to be getting annoyed, and for heaven's sake, stop playing Tetris on your phone at parties." Penelope needs this advice. She is the kind of girl who passes through much of her life with coffee spilled on her white shirt, who can't quite tell when people are joking, and who, inevitably, always says the wrong thing. But no amount of coaching will prepare Penelope for the people she meets at school. Gloriously skewering the social hierarchy of college, Penelope is the brilliantly funny story of one of the most singular, memorable heroines in recent fiction. Critic Reviews: "[An] amusing and often searing profile of a dysfunctional Harvard that runs on elaborately bullshitted papers and even more elaborately constructed personae. Penelope manages to bump into all manner of Harvard caricatures, allowing Harrington's satirical voice to shine." (Zoë K. Hitzig, The Harvard Crimson ) "Unique...refreshing.... It is this sincere depiction of a quirky quasi-misfit in a world of pre-law go-getters and trust-fund kids that renders Penelope not only a satire of the Harvard world, but also a sincere portrayal of an average kid." (Shannon Draucker, The Dartmouth)

Title: The Secret Diary of Mycroft Holmes Subtitle: The Thoughts and Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmess Elder Brother, 1880-1888 Author: S. F. Bennett Narrator: Steve White Format: Unabridged Length: 5 hrs and 8 mins Language: English Release date: 11-28-17 Publisher: Belanger Books Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: If Samuel Pepys could fill nine years worth of journals with tales of arguments with his wife, visits to the theatres, fire and plague, then I am fairly confident I should be able to achieve a similar feat - with the exception of the plague, that is. Thus begins Mycroft Holmess valiant, if irregular, attempt to chronicle his doings. Rediscovered in 1976 and now fully translated from an obscure code, Mycrofts diaries reveal that a brothers lot is not always a happy one, especially when that brother happens to be Londons only consulting detective. In this humorous look at the world of Sherlock Holmes through Mycrofts eyes, between avoiding amorous cleaning ladies and eccentric family members, appeasing hopeless artists and budding novelists, keeping the peace at the Diogenes and minding doting dogs, one question always remains: will Sherlock ever get a proper job? Devon-based journalist and lecturer, S.F. Bennett has written for the Baker Street Journal and the Journal of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, among others. This is the author's first novel.

Title: Santa's Husband Author: Daniel Kibblesmith, A. P. Quach Narrator: Daniel Kibblesmith Format: Unabridged Length: 5 mins Language: English Release date: 10-10-17 Publisher: Harper Audio Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 9 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: Offering a fresh twist on Kris Kringle, a clever yet heartfelt audiobook that tells the story of a black Santa, his white husband, and their life in the North Pole. Everyone knows that Santa Claus is jolly, but in Santa's Husband, this cherished symbol of the holiday season is also black and gay, and married to an equally cheery man. In this witty and sweet Christmas tale, humor writer Daniel Kibblesmith introduces us to Mr. and Mr. Claus and gives us a glimpse of their lives together. We see the Clauses sitting by the fire at their cozy North Pole home, vacationing at the beach, having an occasional disagreement, celebrating their wedding day, and comforting each other when some loudmouth people on television angrily dispute Santa's appearance and lifestyle. In the weeks before Christmas, Santa's husband helps with all the pre-Christmas work, from double-checking lists to feeding the reindeer (organic gluten-free grains, of course) to negotiating labor disputes with the restive workshop elves. At the height of toy-making season, he even fills in for his busy hubby at the mall to ensure every child can meet the Big Guy in the red suit and give him their wish list. As this charming audiobook reminds us, Santa Claus can come in all shapes and colors and sizes - just like the children and families he visits all over the world each Christmas Eve. Santa's Husband is a delightful gift for listeners of all ages.

First published in Russia in 1965, Monday Starts on Saturday has become the most popular Strugatsky novel in their homeland. Like the works of Gogol and Kafka, it tackles the nature of institutions - here focusing on one devoted to discovering and perfecting human happiness. By turns wildly imaginative, hilarious, and disturbing, Monday Starts on Saturday is a comic masterpiece by two of the world's greatest science-fiction writers.

Title: Living the Dream Subtitle: A Novel Author: Lauren Berry Narrator: Saskia Maarleveld Format: Unabridged Length: 8 hrs and 37 mins Language: English Release date: 08-15-17 Publisher: Macmillan Audio Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: A cheeky, charming debut about 20-something best friends in London navigating their careers and love lives past postcollegiate turmoil and into adulthood, with lots of pints along the way. Emma is a rising star at the marketing firm she works at as a "creative" but would have trouble describing what exactly it is she does all day. She pours most of her actual creative energy into a popular blog that all of her friends agree is brilliant, but she has yet to make a cent on it. Clem is a massively talented screenwriter just back from New York, where she picked up a fancy graduate degree in film. But until she convinces an agent to take on her masterpiece script, she's stuck hostessing at the bar she frequented as an undergrad, and the only calls she's getting are about bills past due and overdrawn bank accounts. In their ironclad friendship, both girls find a reliable break from the postcollegiate absurdities and indignities that seem to abound in life right at the moment they feel they should finally be getting it all together. With a rotating cast of lovably insufferable friends, from Emma's fabulous DJ and ladies' man roommate to Clem's painfully ordinary and predictable childhood chum, the girls wind their way through the twists and turns of aging parents and terrible bosses and regrettable one-night stands, of unforeseen setbacks and blessings that present as anything but, and remind each other that while their ships might not have come in yet, the after-work drinks are cold, and the company can't be beat.
