How To Make Lemonade From Lemons a Hijackal Left Behind GUEST: Stepahni Roberts
Escaping the Hijackal Trap! That's the name of one of my books, AND the focus of today's interview with Stephani Roberts.First, you have to recognize you're in a #Hijackal trap, right? Then, you have to move on to find your best next steps. Today, Stephani Roberts shares her journey from first recognition that she was in an emotionally abusive relationship--and the red flags she originally overlooked--to the realization that for the emotional safety of herself and her girls, she needed to remove herself from the toxic relationship. Brave move! And, not without it's perils!>>>>>> Don't miss all the good stuff at the bottom of this page! <<<<<<<<Where are you in this process? You might have tucked away your recognition of red flags to press on to get what you thought was possible in a relationship. Now's the time to wake up and smell the herbal tea on that one, and this conversation is a great place to start.Extricating yourself from a #Hijackal is best done one step at a time, unless there is physical abuse, or sexual abuse going on. It gives you time to empower yourself, try new strategies, and make better decisions about the life you want to create once you've left.Today's guest shares her journey beyond a #Hijackal ex, and how she definitely made lemonade that continues to sweeten her life.GUEST: STEPHANI ROBERTS, The Authority Amplifier for Content CreatorsSteph Roberts is an avid lifelong learner and spiritual seeker. Easing Out of Our Clutter & What Our Parents Left Behind GUEST: Sharon McRill
Any chance you have "stuff?" Or, whatever you prefer to call it! Maybe, you've had it for awhile, and you're attached to it.Maybe, you are always saying you're going to deal with it.Maybe, you just inherited it from parents who have passed.Maybe, it's a HUGE energy leak, and every time you think about it, you want to run away!Maybe, today is the day it will all make sense how to go about deciding what stays and what goes, what you keep and what you release.>>>>>> Don't miss all the good stuff at the bottom of this page! <<<<<<<<Clutter is something we hear about often, and read about. Somehow, this information is slanted to make it sound like clutter is always a bad thing. No judgment here! We've all heard about the positives of creative clutter, too. What's clear, though, is that you want to have consciously decided what to keep in your possession because you want to have consciously chosen to do so. Today's interview will shed a whole lot of light on clearing the clutter, and knowing exactly what you have, and what you want to keep.Of course, there are many kinds of clutter: physical clutter, emotional clutter, mental clutter, financial clutter, and so on. Today, of course, I talk a little about emotional clutter, and why that's just as important--if not more so in my not so humble opinion...lol--to deal with. Most often, emotional and physical clutter reflect one another, and that's a fine reason for taking the time to listen to how to reduce both today.GUEST: Sharon McRill, Owner and President of The Betty Brigade.a personal assistance and concierge company working from Ann Arbor, MichiganSharon McRill likes to help busy people get things done. The Better Brigade helps busy professionals with moving, home staging, organizing, and handy-man services--with virtually anything clients need done but have no time to do themselves.Laid off from a corporate marketing job in 2003, Sharon turned joblessness into an opportunity in the midst of an ailing economy. As a busy professional herself, she'd fantasized about having a personal assistant. She has grown her team to ten members, including professionals in organizing, home project management, and staging. What an engaging and enlightening--in every sense of the word--conversation. What is Emotional Savvy & Using it to Heal Relationships Energetically GUEST: Kerri Hummingbird
Wow! Seventy three episodes and I'm finally talking about what Emotional Savvy means. You know that "to be savvy" means that you know what's up and what's going on. You're awake, aware, and alert. You're "with it!" Great! You may have the practical knowledge, but it's not much use if it's not applied. Relationships require emotional savvy. Otherwise, you don't make good judgments. You don't see what's really going on, and maybe prefer denial. Not much emotional savvy there, right? Emotional savvy covers all areas that impact our emotional lives: mental, intellectual, spiritual, financial, health, well-being, relationships--everything that impacts making our way in the world. So, some good things to think about in the first segment, for sure! GUEST: Kerri Hummingbird, SoulGuideKerri Hummingbird has served as a social activist, leader, and philanthropist for over three decades. She is the founder of the Skills Not Pills Movement, and Host of the Soul Nectar show. Ms. Hummingbird inspires people to lead their lives wide awake, with an authenticity, passion, and purpose that positively impacts others. She catalyzes mind-shifts that transform life challenges into gifts of wisdom with her Reinvent Yourself programs for individual and group mentoring. She is the author of the award-winning best-selling book, Awaken to Me: One Woman's Journey to Self Love." She says, "Your life is for YOU. Live it how you CHOOSE. Why We're Reluctant to Call It Abuse: One Woman's Story of Escape GUEST: April Giaque
Why are we so reluctant to call it abuse? Today's episode starts with my response to this question. Of course, no one wants to think of themselves as being abused. So, you justify it, rationalize, and make excuses for it. Sometimes, you even decide it's your own fault! WRONG! And, I'll explain why today. Verbal abuse and emotional abuse start small, usually. You write it off as someone "having a bad day" or "going through a rough patch." Then, you want to avoid looking at the overall patterns that are developing, right? That would mean one more thing to face in a life that's getting more difficult by the day. So, you don't. Not a good idea! Best to wake up as early as possible, call it the abuse that it is, and make it stop. I've talked about this in so many episodes and I invite you to go through them and find the ones that are most like your situations and give them a listen now. GUEST: April Giaque, author of Pinpoints of Light: Escaping the Abyss of AbuseApril Tribe Giaque, escaped the abyss of abuse and she's written about it in her recent book. She has experienced homelessness with her five children--three who have Autism--following her escape. Yet, she remained focused and earned her Master's degree after leaving domestic violence. She took her knowledge and experience with Autism and now helps puzzled parents, teachers, and administrators to find support, social skills and inclusion for those with Autism, helping them to thrive in school, social settings, and life. April is remarried to Scott and has four more children (two who are also deaf) with him. She is now the mother of nine. April has taken her pinpoints of light and turned it into a Beacon of Light to enlighten and illuminate the world. What About Men...and Those Confused By Them? GUEST: Robert Kandell
Is life confusing for men these days? Are men confusing to you these days? So, what's this all about? Why are men and women confused about the roles of men? Or, are they? My guest thinks they are!Personally, I think that there is much confusion over roles, and that they are fluid in each family. It's a BIG, IMPORTANT conversation for every couple to have before they get married: to learn about each other, talk about values, vision for life, beliefs, and goals. Talk about how those values will play out in the roles each of you want, and/or accept, BY AGREEMENT.Making agreements requires willingness to communicate deeply. Now, we're getting into the thorny issues about why these issues can all be too fuzzy. People don't want to talk about difficult things. They want to stay with their fantasies about a life together all magically working out. It doesn't.It's not news that you have to consciously work on your relationship. You have to work on it and at it. You have to be present, and willing to talk, change, grow together.Listen in to this fascinating conversation, and see what questions it leaves you with. You can ask them by liking my Facebook page, Relationship Help Shows, and we can talk there. If you want my help directly, we can do that, too.GUEST: Robert Kandell, Coach, Lecturer, Consultant My guest today, Robert Kandell, hailed as “part football coach, part loving dad, and part slightly crazed drill sergeant”, has spent the last 20 years helping people re energize their lives and build better relationships and sex through authentic connection and honest communication. After building a successful consulting firm in San Francisco, he then took his business acumen and co-founded One Taste (orgasmic meditation) in 2004.
