Glen Ford, radio host and long time journalist, joins co-hosts Diane and Dave on their talk radio show. Back in February 2008, Glen Ford warned that Barack Obama was no liberal. Glen's website is blackagendareport.com and does real investigative journalism. Bruce Dixon and Margaret Kimberley are two of the regular contributors along with Glen. Glen or Bruce are guests every Wednesday on Mark Thompson's Sirius Left "Make It Plain" talk radio show. Glen is always way ahead of main stream journalists. Listen to what he has to say of Obama. If you had listened to Glen back in 2007 like I did, you wouldn't be surprised at the corporate bent of our new president.
Matt Taibbi, author and investigative journalist for "Rolling Stone" visits "The Edge" Talk Radio. Hosts Di and Dave ask Matt to elaborate on his latest post "Wall Street's Naked Swindle" and how there seems to be a whole lot of counterfeiting going on. Di and Dave ask Matt some more questions. What are "dark pools"? Why is Goldman Sachs lobbying for even less transparency? Should Elizabeth Warren run for president? Was health care "reform" decided a long time ago? Does he still travel with a Viking costume like he did when he covered the 2004 Democratic primary? Are we becoming Russia?
The Edge Talk Radio talks to Dr. Paul Hochfeld, one of the Mad as Hell Doctors who journeyed from Portland, Oregon to Washington DC. Dave and Di talked to Paul prior to his arrival in DC on September 30th. And today Dr. Paul talks about staying in DC and although not invited getting into the President's doctors news conference on October 5. He tells us that many of the Doctors for Obama he met there thinks that the single payer and national health care plan people are a bit delusional. He also reveals how doctors are paid and how the AMA has a secret panel that devises evaluation or intervention codes. Medicare subcontracts this job to the AMA that then is paid 100 million dollars a year. These CPT codes are updated every 5 years by something called the RUC (Reimbursement Update Committee). They determine that dermotolgists get paid more than primary care physicians. He bluntly tells us that specialists who make more than $500,000 aren't terribly interested in changing the system. We have a huge crisis in not having enough primary care physicians. They are paid far less than a specialist.Dr. Paul is smart, funny, and determined to keep working towards a health care system where eveybody is in the system and no one is out.
Stephen Kinzer, former NY Times foreign correspondent in over 50 countries for over 20 years covered many of the hot spots all over the world from Guatemala to the fall of the Berlin Wall to Turkey and Israel. His book "Overthrow: A Century of Regime Change from Hawaii to Iraq" is a must read for any serious student of foreign policy. He gives some very unique observations about Afghanistan. Did you know that we had U.S. soldiers doing voter registration there? One soldier was killed registering voters. Is that what they are trained to do? FUBAR, is what it is.In the first half hour of "The Edge" talk radio, Dave and Di interview Stephen and in the 2nd Half Hour cough up more hair balls of truth from the crap we all digest throughout the week from the Fat Cat News and Bloviators of Blather.

Grow Up America. Stop talking in cliches and weasel phrases. I’m asking my fellow feral cats to write to radio stations and tell them to stop spouting garbage like NPR’s Christopher Joyce talking health care and repeating the mind numbing phrase “don’t let the perfect, be the enemy of the good”. Can we get some cap and trade fines for our numbnuts no ‘nads weiners every time they say things like:“It’s not politically feasible”. “It’s off the table”. “What we have is a perfect storm.”
What’s Gone Wrong? Stephen Zarlenga asks in his book “The Lost Science of Money”. Well, it seems that if a nation and its people don’t control the money, they can pretend all they like that they are free, but they really aren’t. When the people control their money, they decide what to do with it. Will it be used to build and repair vital human infrastructure like our health care and our schools or will it go for warfare and real estate loans and banksters pockets? His book shows us how we allowed 1% of the population to own 50% of the wealth and receive 70% of the income. Get the book at monetary.org.Join Di and Dave, the Feral Cats of Freedom as they cough up hairballs of truth with Zarlenga of the American Monetary Institute. Learn about money, morality and much much more on this alternative to the Fat Cat News.

Entertaining and informative, Kinzer is a favorite of Di and Dave. Read his book "Overthrow", "Bitter Fruit" and "All the Shah's Men".

Predatory hedge fund types are making lives miserable in places like Zambia. Now that we here in the U.S. are experiencing how the predators have worked in the financial sector, it might behoove us to take a closer look at where the sharks have been practicing up.
It turns out our cell phones are not only killing conversation, but they are killing people in the Congo. A World War III has been going on there since the 1990's. Why don't Americans know anything about what is going on there and why? Do Africans want our help? Is the United States of Africa a good idea? What has Africa got that we want? Lots. If we paid African farmers a fair price for their crops like cocoa for all the chocolate we consume, would they be able to get out of poverty? A great free wheeling discussion, if I do say so myself.Diane

But just in case the crony capitalists and globalists don’t do us in completely, maybe we ought to pay a little more attention to the real thing; nuclear weapons, nuclear waste, and nukes in space. After all look what happened when we weren’t watching the bond traders and bucket shop bozos? Should we worry or Should we stop worrying and learn to once more love the bomb? And since we’re broke, what is this costing us?Hosts Diane Kamp and Dave Zollinger cough up fur balls of truth each week from the baloney digested throughuot the week from the Fat Cat News.
Stephen Zarlenga of the American Monetary Institute at monetary .org is the author of "The Lost Science of Money". Stephen and his colleagues are dedicated to de-mystifying money because “If it had to be summarized in one sentence it is that by misdefining the nature of money, special interests have often been able to control a society’s monetary system, and in turn, the society itself.”The Teamster and the Rancher, Dave and Di, ask Zarlenga about the details of the "American Monetary Act" that they have proposed. Should we incorporate the Federal Reserve into the Treasury? And they ask him to explain the difference between banking and money.
