From The Empty Coffin: We're celebrating the release of Robert Eggers' remake of Nosferatu that was released on Christmas Day. Film critics Hope Madden and George Wolf join us with a review of the new film. Plus, they shed a light on the shadowy world of Nosferatu. We uncover the film's history, its unauthorized connection to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and the chilling urban legends surrounding its star, Max Schreck. Because of its Christmas day release, we also explore the surprising ties between Nosferatu and Christmas. From the film's setting and release date to the tradition of counter-programming horror movies on Christmas Day, we uncover the darker side of the holiday season. And of course, we couldn't resist sharing our favorite Christmas horror movie recommendations – from classics like Black Christmas to hidden gems like Rare Exports. So, grab your garlic and crucifix, settle in for a frightfully festive listen, and prepare to be haunted by the symphony of horror that is Nosferatu! Learn more about your ad choices. Y'all are very disrespectful in how y'all talk about people. I knew Bob Flores. yes what he did wrong & horrifying but he was a veteran. I'm sure he went through a whole lot of mind altering trauma in the war. along with the stresses of his personal life. I'm not giving him any excuses but y'all need to learn how to tell your stories.

It's truly weird to hear you all describing the funny looks you get for doing the simple, sensible thing that shows you care about the people in your church: wear your mask! Here in Southern California we never really stopped social distancing, no matter what the official rules were. Now the state and most cities and counties have reinstated indoor mask mandates, proof of vaccination, proof of twice weekly testing or both. I visited Texas in May and it was shocking to see so many people proudly announcing to the world that they don't care if their neighbors, their children, or their parents die or suffer long term effects from an unknown virus.

This sort of reminded me of Sweeney Todd, if S.T was in modern day Brazil-- and he, his wife, and his girlfriend all got together to eat girls and make meat pies

Barnes claims that she killed 17 before she turned 17. She's a real prodigy as far as serial killers go.

She's female, she's black. And doesn't fit the typical profile of a serial killer. No lives matter to Dorothy Willams.

Love learning about serial killers from other countries--especially so-called Communist societies because serial killers are supposed to be the products of industrialized, capitalistic countries like America! Communist countries don't have crime.

Possibly the most prolific serial killer of my home state. I haven't felt this proud since I found out Ed Kemper drove all all the way out to my hometown to turn himself in!
