So after 4 months, the podcast is evolving. Same basic format, but I am little more focused on delivering the information that you, the listener, have told me you love. In the mix of book recommendations today, we have a book about teamwork and professionalism, a book to sharpen your learning capabilities and one of my favorite running books. In the coaching afterglow, I will continue talking about a Carpe Diem morning mindset, this time focusing on being our best selves at work. Enjoy!
There is no grading system here. This week I recommend a book that will be like a Swiss Army Knife for your health, some motivation as you start your Springtime exercises, a review of our breathing practices, and a book to unburden yourself. The coaching segment this week is on focused learning.
Today's podcast will have books to inspire morning "Rumi"nations, how to have better conversations, where you should focus your energy, and a self help classic. In the coaching portion, I'll be discussing how I am crafting my morning bookend, a mental and physical routine to start my day off on the right foot.
This week's episode includes some book recommendations which explain the benefits of compound interest in all aspects of life, how and why you should squeeze a little more sleep into your day, how solitude can make you a better leaders, and a big boost for all my Seattle Seahawks fans. In the coaching segment, I'll be rambling about procedures before you get to bed that will set you up for a successful day tomorrow.
After a brief hiatus, we are returning with our seventh episode. Is it a new format? No. Is it perhaps improved in some way? Sadly, this is also not the case. It's magnificent for having new books to recommend, especially one on procrastination. The first week of my break was a surprise because I got a last minute teaching gig. The second week involved the moving and reorganization of my home base here in Warsaw. The third week was all delay and shoddy excuses. Forgive me dear reader. I'm back and back on track and I've got your back for new book recommendations.
6 episodes in and I have about two dozen listeners who want to know what I'm reading or thinking about. This week I recommend books to improve your reading skills, enhance your willpower, start a business, and develop Antifragility (Hulk's Super Power). Thanks for finding me here.
This week on our continuing literary journey through the self help book nook, we have our first listener request (Hint: It's a book about time management) and I discuss some of the mental tools I am forging on my quest to become a Heroic Coach.
As my coaching program continues to progress, we start getting into the meat and potatoes of aligning our best selves with who we currently are. As such, the book recommendations this week start talking about practical applications of change. Bonus: Two of the authors are prestigious podcasters, so if you like the book and you like podcasts, you will have hours and hours of inspiration from this quick episode.
The magic of 3s is a well known rule in rhetoric. People like listen to things in threes, so if this is your first time here, you may want to go back and listen to the first two episodes. There will be some great book recommendations and we'll talk about tasting Virtue as if it is fine wine as we explore what values we hold most dear on our journey to become our most authentic selves.
The first day of a habit can be almost easy. You have a plan. You have motivation. If you follow conventional habit theory, your first step should be easy. You do that one thing - Success! But then you need to do it again. And again. Join me for my second episode with more book recommendations (including one book that made me very angry) and a continuation of my coaching journey and the baby steps I'm taking for myself to help others. Note: This Podcast will not really be talking about modern habit building theories, but if that interests you, let me know. It is sure to be the focus of an upcoming episode.
Wherein our Hero shares the idea behind the podcast, recommends some books (pop psychology mostly) , and talks about pregaming the beginning of a coaching program that will train him to slay dragons. Expect to hear about the positive psychology movement, stoicism, his love of New England, but sadly lacking in creative epithets.
