6. The Danger of Outsourcing Your Creative Thinking

In this daily episode, I talk about the danger of outsourcing our creative thinking to other people that we like and follow. Jesus Christ is the ONLY person we are to model and follow. -- Transcript -- The Danger of Outsourcing Your Creative Thinking.mp3 Hey, everybody, welcome back to God's Voice Today podcast, I'm your host, Vladimir, and in this episode, I want to talk to you guys about the danger of outsourcing your thinking. And so with that, I'm going to queue up the intro theme song and I'll be right back. All right, everybody, welcome back. So I'm sitting here in my office is super quiet right now because my wife went to pick up my eight-year-old from school with my five-year-old. And it's rarely this quiet because my two kids both boys are super loud. But now I have this silence and every time it is this quiet, I try to record a quick podcast episode for you guys. So today I want to talk to you guys about the danger of outsourcing your thinking. That's right. So I'm going to give you a quick example. I remember working for this one company and I worked there for, I don't know, maybe like six to nine months. And one time I forgot my phone at home and I almost couldn't get to work because I didn't know how to get to work. I lived like 20 minutes away and every day I used my GPS and my phone. I used Google Maps to get to work because I like traffic updates. And so I outsourced my thinking during my commute to work and from work to this Google map. I didn't even think about how to get to work. From day one I used the GPS and then I continued to use the GPS. And lived like 20 minutes away. There are all these different turns and I never thought about directions. I just totally zoned out during my drive to work. I listen to podcasts like this one and I would be in the moment completely. I guess subconsciously I was driving, but I wasn't driving in my mind. I was just listening to all these different podcast episodes. And so one morning, as I said, I forgot my phone and I struggled to get to work. I think I was late and I went into panic mode. And this example greatly illustrates what I'm talking about, because nowadays we have all these gurus, all these different people that we listen to, like and follow. It's so easy to adapt their thinking and stop thinking for yourself. And it's the most dangerous thing you can do. You do not outsource your thinking. Your thinking is for you. You need to make sure that you are thinking for yourself because it's dangerous to give away your thinking to the news, to the podcast episodes, to other books. It's so dangerous. And what you don't use, you lose. Just like with my example, with the driving. First of all, I never learned directions, to begin with. From day one. I was following directions from this computer, this phone. I blindly allowed Google Maps to tell me where to go. And as helpful as it was, I got to work on time every time. Not only that, but I had all this awesome information like traffic updates and all these other things. But I completely outsourced my directions skills, like I couldn't get to work without my phone if my life depended on it. And the same thing even applies with a calculator, like, you know, once you get a calculator, you outsource your thinking to the calculator, you start forgetting how to do basic additions and multiplications, divisions, all those things, and it carries over in all areas of life. And for example, in business, you outsource certain functions like, you know, as business starts to grow, you try to outsource certain things that you don't like, blog posts and all these different things. You're trying to find somebody who can do content management for you because that's something that just takes a lot of time and you know how to do that stuff. But like the most important functions, like marketing, the sales, if you start outsourcing to other people, you will slowly forget how to market your business,

5. Undercover Christians

In this episode, I talk about the danger of being an "Undercover Christian" in today's world. -- Transcript -- Hey, what's up, everybody, welcome back to God's Voice Today podcast, I'm your host, Vladimir, and in this episode, I want to talk to you guys about Undercover Christians and why you shouldn't be one. So with that, I'm going to queue up the intro song and I'll be right back. All right, everybody, welcome back. So in this episode, I want to talk to you guys about something that's probably not very popular, but it should be addressed because it's life and death. And I want to talk to you guys about this idea of being an "Undercover Christian" and why you shouldn't be one. So let me first define who is an Undercover Christian. So an Undercover Christian is someone who let's say they've been working at someplace for many, many years, like five, 10 years. And no one in that place knows that they are Christians. Now, that's not good. And so I just want to encourage you not to be that person, be the person who shares faith freely with others. Freely as you get, freely give it away. I'll give you a quick example. My brother was telling me about how at work one time he had a healthy discussion about faith. And so he had all these coworkers who would team up against. They were atheists and they would have a discussion with him, you know, because he likes to challenge people, he wants people to know he's a believer and he wants to defend his faith. And afterwards, he said he was sitting in his cubicle. And this one guy who my brother knew for a long time, he came over and he was just like, good job, buddy. Man, that was awesome. I'm also a Christian. And what you did there was really, really cool. Keep it up. And I remember my brother was puzzled. It's like, wow, I worked with you for so many years and I didn't know that you're a Christian. And so he called him an Undercover Christian. And he was, in a way, a little upset because he was teamed up against all these atheists. Like it would have been helpful if somebody jumped in and helped him out. And so he called that guy an undercover Christian. And I thought it was a perfect term for those kinds of people. Undercover Christian, what a shame. You have the Gospel, you have the light, and yet you keeping it to yourself, you're scared to come out and share the Gospel with others. It's kind of selfish if you ask me, but at the same time, it's fear that's holding people back from sharing the Gospel because they're afraid that they will be punished for it. People will look down on them. That somehow it will affect their pay and all these other things. I can't help but think about my parents, my dad, for example, he would boldly get up and share the gospel on bus rides and on train rides. I remember it was embarrassing in a way, when I was a child, dad would get up in the middle of a bus ride and he would share the Gospel boldly with everybody on the bus. And not only did he do it in public, but he did it during a time when it wasn't popular or allowed. He did it during communism. He knew that he would be taken away, arrested, may not see his family ever again, and yet it didn't stop him from sharing the Gospel because he truly believed that it was the answer for everything. The Gospel is the truth. The truth will set people free and my Father wanted everyone to hear this truth because it set him free and he wanted to see everyone set free. He wasn't afraid of anything because he knew that the safest place to be is on assignment. The safest place to be is being obedient to the truth that, you know. And so I just want to encourage you not to be an Undercover Christian. Speak your faith boldly. I'm not talking about being a jerk and just a Bible thumper, just walking around telling everybody about all these different things. I'm just saying that when there is an opportunity to stand up for somebody and to say something,

4. The Opposition

In this daily episode, I talk about the challenges that come our way as soon as we make a definite decision to pursue a goal. -- Transcript -- What's up, everybody? Welcome back to God's Voice Today podcast. I'm your host, Vladimir, and in this episode, I want to talk to you guys about the opposition. That's right. That negative force that tries to destroy all good that you start. And so I'm going to go ahead and cue up the intro song and I'll be right back. All right, everybody, welcome back. I'm here in my office. It's a beautiful Wednesday morning. I already had an opportunity to work out. My wife and kids just took off to go to the store. And so my house is completely empty and while it is empty, it's a perfect opportunity for me to record something because there's no noise, absolutely no noise. And so I decided to take advantage of this opportunity and talk to you guys about something that's been heavy on my heart. And it's what I call the opposition. So in life, when you try to start something good, like when you put a stake in the ground, you set a definite goal and you say, hey, I'm going to go all-in on this one thing, I'm going to achieve this thing. Or maybe like, for example, you're declaring that you're going to get your healing or start this business or restoring your marriage, or some kind of definite goal that's good. And it's almost immediately the opposition comes and tries to stop you from achieving that goal. Right? It's like the parable in the Bible about the sower. So where the sower goes out to sow seed and then what happens immediately? The opposition comes and tries to choke away the seed. And so I just want to encourage you not to be surprised by that because it's normal. It's kind of like I remember in college. During the first week, the parking lot is always extremely full. There are so many people and it's always hard to find a parking spot. And I remember, the teacher would always say, oh, don't worry, give it a couple of weeks, people will drop off. And I just remember thinking, during my freshman year, like what? What does he mean by that? Why would people drop off? And sure enough, two weeks went by and the parking lot is not as full as it used to be because everybody gets so excited about starting something. They sign up for all these classes. They're so excited about these classes and they go through the first week and then the second week when it starts to go in full force, you know, starts going through all these challenging homework assignments, tests, quizzes, and all these different challenging things. And all of a sudden people get discouraged and then the opposition comes and talks them out of that greatness that they set out to achieve. You see the same thing in the gym at the beginning of the year. The gyms are always extremely full. And it's kind of like going to Disney World. You have to stay in line to ride the ride rides. You have to stay in line to work out. It's always like that every year. I've been working out for many years and January is always a busy month for gyms. Everyone is excited about their New Year's resolutions. They're trying to lose weight. And so the first month, everybody's at the gym trying to work out. And then after that, in February, the gym is back to normal, back to being empty. And only the regulars stick around, the serious people, the ones that have been going all year round, and all these flakes, as they call them, they drop off and it's just a normal part of life. So when you take a stand for something, the opposition will come and try to discourage you from pushing through. In fact, I'm experiencing something similar right now with this podcast, I'm like three episodes in. I'm super excited about it. But then it seems like in the evening especially, all these thoughts start pouring my mind, like, what are you doing? This is stupid. People are going to laugh at you when they find out what you're doing.

3. Serving One Another

In this daily episode, I share the importance of serving one another and how serving each other will help you discover your own purpose in life. -- Transcript -- Hey, everybody, welcome back to God's Voice Today podcast where you will hear the truth that will set you free. I am your host, Vladimir and in this episode, I want to talk to you about serving one another. So I'm going to go ahead and queue up the intro theme song and I'll be right back. All right, everybody, welcome back. So I think it was the last weekend I was in church with my family. And, you know, in the church there is worship and then there's time for offering. And during the offering, the lady got on stage and she was talking about this interesting thing that she saw on social media. She was talking about how a college professor asked all of his students to grab a balloon and then write their names on a balloon. Then he asked everyone to put those balloons out in the hall. So as you can imagine there are like hundreds of balloons out in the hall. And so then he said, I'll give you five minutes, go out in the hall and find your balloon. So he mixed all the balloons and nobody was able to find their balloon. It was a complete disaster. And then he said, OK, now I give you five more minutes and now go back to the hall. But I want you to work together and help each other find each other's balloons. And so students got out to the hall. They picked up balloons and worked together to make sure everyone finds their baloons. And sure enough, in five minutes, everyone found their balloon. And so the moral of the story was that when you help somebody to achieve what they want and in the process, you will find yours as well. So it's kind of like this idea that you will reap what you sow instead of being self-centered. When you shift from serving yourself to serving others, beautiful things happen. In the end, you will benefit much more. You'll get to your goal to your destination so much faster. I remember Zig Ziggler was talking about how if you want to achieve your goals, help others achieve their goals first. And so by helping others, you find your purpose. And what a great illustration it was with the baloons. I kept thinking about, wow, that's so true. You reap what you sow when you put people first. It's like you find your purpose in the process of helping people. If you want to become a successful businessman, help somebody else to become a successful businessman, it could be anything. If you want to have more energy, first give it away by working out. And when you work out, you know, when you give away energy, you reap what you sow. And so that was powerful for me. I hope it's powerful for you as well. Let's help as many people as we can. And in the process, you'll be blessed and what a way to live serving others. And so with that, I'm going to wrap it up and go back to work and you need to get some work done. It's Friday and have a few hours to wrap some things up, but you have a great rest of the day and I look forward to serving you in the next episode.

2. Next Ball

In this daily episode, I will talk about a simple concept that I learned a long time ago while playing soccer. This concept helped me in my Christian walk and I believe it will also help you. -- Transcript -- Hey, welcome back, everybody, to God's Voice Today podcast, I'm your host, Vladimír, and in this episode, I will share with you one quick tip is that hopefully will help you in this life. So without any further ado, I'll go ahead and cue up the theme song and I'll be right back. Welcome back. So in this episode, I want to take a quick second. I'm working here at home and talk to you about something that I was thinking about today at the gym. So if you don't know me, I like going to the gym about three times a week. The gym is my therapy. I mean, I go to the gym and it is my place where I just kind of unplug from everything and it's like the gym and the shower, the two things where I can just hear God clearly. And anyway, so with that said, I was thinking about this thing that I call next ball and by the title of it doesn't sound like anything, but so hear me out. So my twin brother and I were big-time into high school soccer. At one point we were trying to go and play for a college but didn't work out. But anyway. Soccer was our life back in high school and middle school. We moved to the States from Ukraine, so soccer was huge. And there's this one concept that I learned from soccer. It's still applicable for me in life. And this concept I call next ball. And so let me explain to you what that means. So a lot of times in sports, it doesn't have to be in soccer. It could be in basketball, it could be other sports. But a lot of times when you dribble and you're getting so close to the goal. And there's always this, I guess, like a fork in the road kind of decision. You have to make a decision. Do I take a shot or do I pass it to somebody else and get an assist? And, if you take a shot and you miss it. It just doesn't look good. You look selfish and you start beating yourself up. And so but at the same time, you know, if it's like a 50/50 ball, you really want to take a shot and you really want to see what happens. And sometimes you take that selfish decision and sometimes you do you miss. And then you feel this walk of shame. You're like, oh, sorry, guys. If you look at everybody, then the guy who was like wide open who is asking for the ball the whole time and he's just looking at you like, dude, come on, man, why are you so selfish? And so in those moments, you start beating yourself up. You're like, oh my gosh, I'm so terrible. Guilt, shame, condemnation comes in and the whole game is ruined. Like, it's so hard to just, I guess, overcome that or just to put it away and just play the game. And so when that happens, I remember Coach explaining to us to do this. So if let's say you did miss and it doesn't look good, it's embarrassing. The whole crowd can see it. Everybody sees it. Usually how the coach would train us. He would have somebody from the team come up and just say, hey, next ball. Stop thinking about this ball like it's done. You can't undo it. So, I mean, it's embarrassing. Whatever. It doesn't feel good. Feel it for a second and just let it go and concentrate on the next ball. Don't let that thing trip you up. And I can't help but think about life. You know, a lot of times when we sin, we feel that way. We beat ourselves up. The first thing you should do when you sin is just asking for forgiveness. Come to the Lord, run to the father, asking for forgiveness in Bible. He promises us that when we ask for forgiveness, he forgives us and he removes your sin as far as the east is from the west. So you're clean, you're fine. And so you look at examples in the Bible where Adam and Eve when they sin and what was the first reaction? They felt shame, guilt, condemnation. And so they were hiding from God. They hid from him. But that's like the opposite of what you should do.

1. God Over Google

In this daily episode, I will share with you the importance of first seeking God instead of google. --Transcript-- Hey, everybody, welcome to God's Voice Today podcast, where you will hear the truth that will set you free. I'm your host, Vladimir, and in this episode, I will talk to you about this simple concept that I call God over Google. So I'll go ahead and cue up the theme song and I'll be right back. All right. Welcome back to God's Voice Today Podcast. Today, I decided to take a quick break right now and talk to you guys about something that has been on my mind. And it's just this idea of God over Google because lately, I've been catching myself more and more when having problems or facing difficulties, to just going to Google to see what Google has to say instead of what God has to say. And in my early days, when I first became a believer, I remember I would go to God first. I would run to the closet and I would pray. In fact, I remember the earliest example that comes to my mind was when I first got married 11 years ago and we were doing pretty well financially, doing pretty well, too, until one day. My wife and I both were in college and one day we had to pay a lot of money for college tuition. It completely emptied our bank account. And I just remember struggling and the rent was coming up. I was freaking out. I was scared and didn't know what to do. And so instead of running to my parents, instead of running to my friends and other sources, I went to God, I went to the closet and I said, hey, God, I'm being responsible. I try to do the best I can. I'm trying to provide for my family, but I'm struggling right now. I don't have enough money for rent. I need your help. And I had this faith that God will come through. And the next day I received this letter in the mail and it was a refund from school. So I guess we overpaid or something like that. Maybe, perhaps it was a grant. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it was exactly enough money for me to pay my rent. I was so excited. I was thrilled. I was running around. I was like, wow, what a coincidence. Right? And so I went to the closet again. I said, God, this was wonderful. Thank you so much for taking care of my rent. I appreciate it. But my wife is turning twenty-one over the weekend and I invite a bunch of people over for sushi. I was going to make a bunch of sushi and I don't want to cancel this party because of lack of money. We still don't have enough money for the party. And so with that, I finished my prayer, and the next day I kid you not. I received another letter again. It was from school. I can't remember if it was a grant or a refund for something, but I got just enough money for the party and some just to get us through the month. What a miracle it was. And I just remember always from that point on, running to God, and God always delivered on his promises. God always took care of me. And at some point in life, I got sidetracked and Google became more popular and YouTube was getting more creators posting answers. I guess I was learning graphic design, web design, web development online, I would watch a lot of tutorials and I trained my mind to go to Google on everything. I would go to YouTube and search how to change oil, how to do this X, Y, and Z. And so then I started outsourcing the things that were really for God to take care of instead of Google, like issues, and I started searching for answers from people, people that can let you down instead of going to my creator, somebody who knows me inside and out, He can tell me all these answers that I need. He knows me better than I know me. And so the reason why I'm talking about this is that I've been dealing with this autoimmune disease called vitiligo. I've been getting these white spots all over my hands and over the last five years, it kind of spread quickly. Now it's on the other hand as well and my elbows. And yesterday morning I noticed that something is coming in on my ...

Shamanism, New Age to Jesus Testimony

Hello everybody! I thought it was about time that I shared my new age to Jesus testimony with you. Basically, I was into shamanism, reiki, crystal healing, psychics mediums, channelling, Hinduism, Buddhism, chakra balancing, power of now, the law of attraction, tarot cards, plant medicine ceremonies. You name it. I was into it. I even trained to be a shamanic practitioner, so it was my life for about 20 years. It was my way of coping with the world. It made total sense to me. It was a really lovely way of looking at the world, and it made sense of everything. I believed in reincarnation. I thought that there wasn't really any good or bad in the world because we were all just learning and that we would all ascend to ultimate consciousness and become enlightened eventually, and all roads led to that path. I made some beautiful friends in the new age as well. People who believe this kind of stuff really want to help people. They believe they're working for the light. I believed I was working for the light, and I really thought that all these practices were good and off the light. It's also quite seductive because when you believe that you're learning the secret occult knowledge that the average joe on the street doesn't know. It's quite seductive thinking that you've got all this special knowledge. So In order to explain to you how I got saved, how Jesus Christ pulled me out of the new age, and how I learned that He was the truth, the way, and the light, I need to first explain to you what the shamanic journey is. So it's using a percussive instrument such as a drum or a rattle. You use the rhythm of that instrument to send yourself into an altered state of consciousness. The idea is that you meet your so-called spirit guide or your spirit animal. This benevolent being will take you into the spirit world and give you advice, guidance or some sort of healing. Now when you're on a journey, it's like you go into a conscious dream, and you can see or sense things and even though it's dream-like, it's not a dream. You're conscious, and it's also very real. So are the consequences of engaging with spirits in that realm. So after about 20 years of being in the new age, and I'd say about 10 years almost of being into shamanism. In November 2018, I was doing a shamanic journey and unexpectedly my spirit guide told me out of the blue you're going to get seriously ill and that I needed to trust the process. I was disturbed by this, but I thought, oh well, if I'm meant to get seriously ill, then I need to grow spiritually from this experience. I need to trust the universe. So nothing happened for ages, and I forgot all about it. Then in September 2019, I woke up one day. I was lying in bed, and the whole room was violently spinning. I had to hold onto the walls to walk anywhere. I felt nauseous, I had migraines, I had tinnitus, I couldn't function, and I was absolutely floored. So I had chronic debilitating fatigue, which meant I couldn't even have a shower some days. I was that tired. So it lasted months and months with no sign of improvement. My brain scan was delayed so I thought okay here is this illness that was promised by my spirit guide. I was in serious danger of losing my job, my income, my house, and my independence. I thought I'd have to give everything up and move back in with my parents. I was completely broken on every level. Now I was trying all my shamanic techniques or my spiritual techniques, chakra balancing, reiki healing, shamanic journeys, reading the power of now, trying to stay in the moment, trying to surrender to the universe and this and the other. Nothing was working and I was getting more and more depressed and more and more desperate. Then about three months into this ordeal, I picked up a Bible that somebody had given me about a year before. I had zero interest in it but I didn't have the hope to throw it away. So anyway,
