Hey, everybody, welcome back to God's Voice Today podcast where you will hear the truth that will set you free. I am your host, Vladimir and in this episode, I want to talk to you about serving one another. So I'm going to go ahead and queue up the intro theme song and I'll be right back.
All right, everybody, welcome back. So I think it was the last weekend I was in church with my family. And, you know, in the church there is worship and then there's time for offering. And during the offering, the lady got on stage and she was talking about this interesting thing that she saw on social media. She was talking about how a college professor asked all of his students to grab a balloon and then write their names on a balloon. Then he asked everyone to put those balloons out in the hall.
So as you can imagine there are like hundreds of balloons out in the hall. And so then he said, I'll give you five minutes, go out in the hall and find your balloon. So he mixed all the balloons and nobody was able to find their balloon. It was a complete disaster. And then he said, OK, now I give you five more minutes and now go back to the hall. But I want you to work together and help each other find each other's balloons. And so students got out to the hall. They picked up balloons and worked together to make sure everyone finds their baloons. And sure enough, in five minutes, everyone found their balloon. And so the moral of the story was that when you help somebody to achieve what they want and in the process, you will find yours as well. So it's kind of like this idea that you will reap what you sow instead of being self-centered.
When you shift from serving yourself to serving others, beautiful things happen. In the end, you will benefit much more. You'll get to your goal to your destination so much faster. I remember Zig Ziggler was talking about how if you want to achieve your goals, help others achieve their goals first. And so by helping others, you find your purpose. And what a great illustration it was with the baloons.
I kept thinking about, wow, that's so true. You reap what you sow when you put people first. It's like you find your purpose in the process of helping people. If you want to become a successful businessman, help somebody else to become a successful businessman, it could be anything. If you want to have more energy, first give it away by working out. And when you work out, you know, when you give away energy, you reap what you sow. And so that was powerful for me. I hope it's powerful for you as well. Let's help as many people as we can. And in the process, you'll be blessed and what a way to live serving others.
And so with that, I'm going to wrap it up and go back to work and you need to get some work done. It's Friday and have a few hours to wrap some things up, but you have a great rest of the day and I look forward to serving you in the next episode.
