Grow through what you go through is a project made by artists, for artists, that features podcasts and online sessions that explore twelve artists’ ways of working, sharing their knowledge and experiences.Monthly podcasts made with the artists are coupled with online creative, discussion & sharing spaces, which aim to provide training for artists & join-in making for participants. Each month’s sessions are led by artists who’ve experienced life-changing situations, who’ll be sharing their knowhow in safe & empowering spaces to benefit ‘survivors’ from all walks of life to grow.

They tend towards social commentary and satire. Over a career spanning 25 years, he performed and ran creative writing workshops in thousands of schools around the UK and beyond. He collaborated with his wife Polly on over a 100 books for children and YA, with their novels, poetry, plays and storybooks published in 17 countries and selling millions of copies. Their poetry is recorded in the Poetry Archive. Anna is a Polish-British artist based in UK who works across a spectrum of media: Theatre, Film, and XR. Central to her work is to bring the authenticity, excitement, and experience of live performances into the Virtual Reality (VR) environments. For this purpose, she works with game engines and the latest motion capture technologies and applies her knowledge of creating immersive theatre and storytelling to the XR media.

As an artist, writer, singer and creativity workshop tutor, the recurring themes of Jo's work are the natural world and our relationship to it. The landscape of Shropshire with its mix of ancient settlements and birth of industry inspires her to explore the changes, the feel and the atmosphere of a place. Jo is currently working on a series of paintings and collagraphs of the Shropshire hill forts inspired by experiences encountered in the writing her first book ‘Finding Home -Journeys with the Hillforts of Shropshire’. Sal Tonge chats to Artist Kanj Nicholas, a Sri Lankan born artist, now living in the West Midlands. Kanj talks about how she tries to create balance of health and family in her arts practice, and the obstacles she has overcome to get where she is today.Kanj's Sri Lankan roots have infused in her a lifelong love of bold and uplifting colours. She draws on childhood memories; of times spent in hers mothers’ garden filled with exotic plants and vegetables. These experiences continue to form her adult life. Her garden and allotment are a constant source of inspiration for her paintings. Sri Lanka is a country that is rich in culture and history. Living and growing up alongside different religions has given her a respect for all cultures, and a strong spiritual outlook on life.
