In this episode, me and my good friend, Chandany, talk about the factors that have gone into our dating journeys and how we’ve come to the conclusion of whether or not we’re ready to date. This 2-part series is so relevant to us as we navigate love and relationships in the roaring 20’s, and we’re excited to bring you directly into our girl talk.  The content is JUICY so we had to split it into 2 parts to really get the full breadth and depth of it. In part 1 we’re talking about our current dating status, how we’ve discerned past relationships, why or why we’re not ready to date, and rolled out some tips for what we’ve learned while answering this question for ourselves. There’s also a TON of resources that were mentioned and I’ve linked them below: 5 Love Languages Quiz Apology Language Quiz Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help YouFind - and Keep - Love Don’t forget to tune in next week for part 2! ____________ GET THE FREE 10-MINUTE RESET GUIDED MEDITATION GET YOUR AMBITIOUS PEACE JOURNAL ON AMAZON HERE FOLLOW/DM KIANI ON IG OR TIKTOK @growingtobekiani CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE: https://growtobefree.com ____________ Leave a Review & Get A Shoutout on the Podcast! Building a business requires A LOT of work, but when it aligns with your values and integrates well with your desired lifestyle, it can be really fun.  Emily McDonald started Stylist LA out of a rolling rack in her living room in 2009. She raised venture capital and grew it to be a 7-figure business, before pivoting in 2020 to an online business. Ankita Terrell was a fellow in venture capital and has worked across venture-backed startups, a massive analytics firm, and with non-profits. She’s directed millions of dollars of funding towards socially conscious businesses working with companies such as Google, Microsoft, S&P, and others. Now they are both co-founders of My Founder Circle, a community that supports female founders while they start, grow, and scale their companies. Our conversation fruitfully talks about their journey along with the topics below: The importance of community as a founder What is work-life integration and what does a successful mix of that look like? What is a value-driven business and how do you create one? How does one establish their personal values? Burnout as a business owner and how to avoid it Strategies to help with overwhelm Self-worth in business How can we help women make more money? If you’ve ever thought to yourself “This food is bad for me”, “I need to eat less”, “I messed up because I ate too late”, or anything similar, this episode is for you. In most cases, much of our mindset around food contains hard and fast rules that may be hurting our health and well-being as opposed to helping it. Steph is a certified wellness & nutrition coach who explores the thought patterns and reasons behind why we eat the way we eat. I drilled her on all sorts of diet-related questions to get to the bottom of what is really going on behind our diet habits and what we can do to start healing this part of our lives. In this episode we talk about: What is diet culture? How to shift our mindset around dieting Debunking dieting myths and mindsets about: Good vs. bad foods, not eating late past 7pm, fasting How to figure out what works for your body Food journaling vs. calorie counting and macro tracking How does our relationship with food develop? Pros & cons of meal plans Perspective on gut & health tests Habits needed to build a healthy mindset around food Questions to ask yourself when you’re having cravings This episode is stacked, so grab some notes! This episode was filmed weeks and maybe months before the world started talking about Roe vs. Wade again. With that being said, this episode was never intended to be shared in light of the current overturning. It’s a very sensitive time in the United States because at the time this episode airs, we are 2 days after the Supreme Court ruling. This episode is about the transition of going from career woman to mom and all the bumps and hiccups along the way. Emily’s story briefly touches on unexpected motherhood and what that looks like, so I want to be clear up front that this episode does not intend to highlight any views or opinions about abortion, pro-choice, or pro-life. I intend this episode to paint a clear picture for those of you who are not yet mothers on what it actually looks like to become one: The good, the bad, and the ugly from an ambitious woman who went through it all. I personally have never had the opportunity to fully ask a mom all my questions about the challenges of motherhood, so I know this conversation will be useful to you if you’re in a similar boat as me. Coming out of this, my hope is that you understand more fully what the transition into motherhood is like and how you can better prepare yourself when the time comes. In this episode, we talk about: What it’s like becoming a mother unexpectedly Handling the fears of becoming a mom Post-partum depression and how it can look The challenges of transitioning from career woman to mom Establishing identity before vs. after having a child Tools & resources to help you in the tough transition of finding yourself How to identify your needs when you don’t know what you need How to have your needs met when you’re a mom How to still accomplish your dreams after becoming a mom CHECK OUT EMILY'S 1:1 COACHING HERE FOLLOW EMILY ON IG: @honestlyemilyrose ____________ Leave a Review & Get A Shoutout on the Podcast!
