Getting wed equals radiant couples searching for wild flower arrangements on Pinterest, or marking the #5years mark with tasteful black and white snaps on Insta. More than a milestone, it’s an entrenched cultural value – one that lands squarely in the same breath as lifetime happiness. Even today, people who don’t put a ring on it can feel left out; like they’ve eluded that lottery ticket marked “happily ever after”. But is there really any truth to this ingrained belief?

In this powerful and candid episode, we sit down with Wandile and Jessica Molebatsi, who share their personal journey of navigating racial prejudice, the complexities of raising mixed-race children, and the challenges of being misunderstood by society. Through their experiences, they open up about the unique hurdles they’ve faced as an inter racial couple, from confronting implicit biases and stereotypes to the emotional toll of educating others about their love and family dynamics. In today's heartfelt installment, I sit down with my husband of 14 years to reflect on his vibrant childhood and the choices he made in his younger years that led him away from his relationship with God. He has faced the difficult journey of drug addiction which led him to being a missionary at the age of 17 at an organization called Youth For Christ in Cape Town. Over the next few years, he wrestles with issues of identity, belonging, and the challenges of receiving love and dealing with rejection. As he shares his story, he emphasizes that the strength to navigate these challenges comes from his faith in God.

When it comes to inquiring about the state of a married couple's relationship, it's wise to tread lightly, for they often tend to emphasize the challenges. Marriage, without a doubt, is a profound blessing and a precious gift, albeit one that demands effort. It has the capacity to stretch individuals and may occasionally create discomfort during personal growth. Nevertheless, the rewards derived from such dedication are immeasurable. In our own experience, we have gleaned valuable insights from this aspect of life, acknowledging that we may not always portray marriage in the most ideal light through our words. Let's do better:)

We took a break from Vlogging and this is whhy…Vlogging can create a sense of detachment and disconnection from the people and experiences that truly matter. In addition, it can create a sense of pressure to constantly create content, leading to a never-ending cycle of filming, editing, and uploading. This can leave little room for downtime or relaxation, and can negatively impact mental and emotional wellbeing. While vlogging can be a fun and creative outlet for sharing one's life with others, it's important to strike a balance between creating content and enjoying quality time with loved ones.
