Hear It From The Bear returns this week after a brief single-promotion hiatus to talk about Tamagotchi, music video production, and much more with special guest 90s Kids. Hailing from Columbus, 90s Kids have accomplished a lot for an Ohio indie-pop band in a relatively short amount of time, from selling out a headlining show at The Basement (which we were lucky enough to open) to landing a feature on the RCA Records single "Bad For You" with Midnight Kids. The latter landed on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist and netted over 100,000 streams in its first week on the platform. All that being said, 90s Kids are also a group of kind, down-to-earth people, and their fun, anthemic new single "Freak Me Out" is the perfect soundtrack to the dog days of an all-too-crazy summer 2020."Freak Me Out" appears courtesy of 90s Kids.
REGISTER TO VOTE: https://www.eac.gov/voters/register-and-vote-in-your-stateThis week we talk with Parker Louis, a Columbus-based neo-soul artist who has been making waves both locally and worldwide. In the two years since his previous band Forest and the Evergreens went on indefinite hiatus, Parker has released two outstanding EPs, toured with artists such as CAAMP and O.A.R., and (most recently) performed a live session at Colors Studios in Berlin that has already amassed nearly 300k views on YouTube. His records, entitled "All Good Things," explore themes of love and loss with an irresistibly soulful backdrop, all while centered around his powerful voice. In the episode, we talk about Parker's connection with skateboarding, Black Lives Matter, and his time recording at Colors (where Ethan gets to the bottom of just how they pick the colors), and much more.Song featured: "Vibe" by Parker LouisSong used with permission from Parker Louis.
On this week's episode, we're joined by Ari and Forrest from prominent Ohio pop band Clubhouse. Clubhouse's history as a band includes some impressive milestones, such as a performance at Firefly Music Festival and inclusion on some massive Spotify playlist, among others. Listening to their brand of catchy, immediate indie pop makes these accomplishments evident, and talking to them affirms their positive persona even further. Listen as we talk about our favorite ways to collaborate via the internet, the new album. by the 1975, and more, and stream their new single "Weekend" now!Featured song: "Weekend" by Clubhouse"Weekend" appears with permission from Clubhouse.

Super 8 Jack) joins us this week for a highly nostalgic episode where we talk about his old band Pipe Dream and his new solo project while detailing how we became friends years ago. Jack's songwriting sensibilities are simple and powerful. He writes songs about seeking freedom, feeling peace, and finding love, all while bringing his beautiful voice to the forefront. His new single "2 Birds" was co-produced by our very own frontman James, and is (as described by Jack himself), "a peace song... It was written with the intention to bring people together in these dark times. Peace doesn’t mean sitting in silence. Peace is the end goal and however we get there, let’s get there together."Featured song: "2 Birds" by Super 8 Jack"2 Birds" appears with permission from Super 8 Jack.

Honey and Blue) join us this week for a fun-filled episode. Topics include our love for Young The Giant, an EXTENSIVE Harry Potter discussion, and the duo's upcoming album "Bloom", which is due out later in June. Apart from being two of the nicest people on the face of the earth, Adam and Stephanie's music is an incredible, fun, eclectic blend of pop, R&B, and soul that's primed to take over the Columbus music world (and hopefully the world in general). Featured song: "Picture Perfect" by Honey & Blue"Picture Perfect" appears with permission from Honey & Blue.
This week, we have a Zoom glitch-filled talk with good friend and amazing singer Ryan Green (from popular indie band Harbour). In this episode, we talk about The Strokes, bad tour experiences, Harbour's amazing van, and so much more. Harbour's newest album, "Thoughts On Letting Go", is a masterclass in indie pop songwriting and production, and has proven to be a genuine favorite of every member of the band since we had the privilege of touring with them through much of 2019.Featured song: "Radiate" by Harbour"Radiate" appears with permission from Harbour.
We're back this week with a jam-packed episode where we talk with Brian McCullough about recording in the bathroom, Las Vegas wild donkeys, our favorite documentaries, and much more. Brian hails from Cincinnati and fronts the incredibly versatile, always surprising indie rock band Sylmar. From his erratic stage presence to his thoughtful and specific lyrics, Brian's musical sensibilities translate perfectly to his personal ones, making this episode an extremely fun and interesting one for all of us.Featured song: "Needja" by Sylmar"Needja" appears with permission from Sylmar courtesy of Audiotree.
On the inaugural episode of the podcast, we talk album-making, bees, made-up words, and much more with Jesse Gillenwalkers (a.k.a. Basic Printer). Jesse is a multi-talented instrumentalist, singer, and producer from Nashville, TN whose music is self-described as "Gloitchpop". While the word may be made up, it perfectly describes the lush, spastic sound of Basic Printer.Featured song: "Headbang" by Basic Printer"Headbang" appears with permission from Basic Printer.
