Description

If surface level wellness gurus and perfectly edited yoga posts on social media induce a sudden eye roll we have a lot in common. There was a time when I thought I'd lose the game of life to depression. Out of desperation to feel alive I started studying holistic wellness. Holistic living is so much deeper than green smoothies and yoga retreats. In this podcast we hold space for the messy, unscripted, and vulnerable parts of navigating a happy(ish) life. Join me each Friday as we chat about relatable approaches to wellness and life in general.

Where have all the real people gone? Am I the only one who feels like we're all just a bunch of carbon copies of each other regurgitating the same shit over and over? Even this blog- even this episode has already been done. Is authenticity dead? It's been hard for me to be a part of social media or even be apart of society the last few years. I've gradually become a recluse. Not because I want to be alone, but because nothing seems genuine anymore. I find myself craving real conversations with real people. Do any of us remember who we truly are anymore or have aesthetics and identity politics created alter personalities for all of us? In this episode I ponder all of these questions while analyzing the adaptive self vs. the authentic self. Craving more wellness? Check out my blog http://ApramadaWellness.com
Emotional Damage

Emotional Damage

I know you've noticed it... Why are we all so sad and angry? I believe it comes to down to one major thing. Emotional damage. We're all in a cycle of suppressing uncomfortable emotions and feelings resulting in a constant state of projections. We're projecting onto others simultaneously as they're projecting onto us. We have to get out of this cycle. We have to learn to start processing what we feel when it's happening instead of shoving that shit so far down that it eventually turns into unhealed trauma. In this episode we dive into the dangers of suppressing emotions, how to identify it, and alternative ways to deal with uncomfortable emotions.  Check out my blog: http://ApramadaWellness.com The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson: https://amzn.to/3TqXoLG The Topography of Tears by Rose-Lynn Fisher: https://amzn.to/3PT6Zru
In the last year how many times have you been on a diet, considered going on a diet, or thought you needed to go on a diet? I'm willing to bet at least once. Stop the dieting! We drive ourselves mad counting calories, keeping journals and trying to remember all the things we can’t eat on whatever new diet we’ve selected for the moment. In this episode we breakdown diet culture and discuss realistic alternatives to staying healthy by keeping it simple and listening to your body.  Check out my blog: http://ApramadaWellness.com
Spiritual Narcissism

Spiritual Narcissism

2022-07-2340:04

Spiritual health can play a huge role in overall wellness. It's one of the eight pillars of holistic health that works in the interconnected web of balancing mind, body, and soul. While spirituality is so vital in creating a deeper connection to ourselves, humanity, and a higher power it can open us up to an unintentional realm of egoism and narcissism. Is spirituality becoming a mere aesthetic as it's gaining a trendy status? In this episode we dive into a conversation about spiritual narcissism and some of the red flags we can watch out for while trying to deepen our spiritual journey.  Check out my wellness blog http://ApramadaWellness.com
Many of us are so disconnected from our body that it's often hard to notice the warning signs of imbalances or illnesses until something is seriously wrong. Learning to deeply listen to your body and pay attention to the warning signs it might be throwing at you can be the first line of defense for creating a more holistic approach to health. This episode dives into the importance of listening to the body in a deeply intuitive way and how to implement this practice into your daily routine.
Change is hard to cope with especially when you're in a really comfortable place in life. While it's hard and can bring lots of discomfort from the unknown, it also brings with it growth. Some of the biggest growth periods in our lives can come from change. I'm reminded that a caterpillar doesn't know it's fate while building a cocoon. It simply does what it needs to do in order to grow and embarks into the unknown- opening the door to the biggest most beautiful change of it's life.  In this episode I get personal with surrendering to change in my own life. I dive into how we can safely cope with change while navigating growth. Check out my blog http://ApramadaWellness.com
Wellness has become extremely trendy over the last year with a global industry market of over $4.7 trillion. While it's an incredible thing to have so many taking a closer look at their health and making changes to enhance wellness in their lives, big companies have caught on to the trend. In this episode we discuss how big name companies are trying to make a profit off seemingly healthy products with very strategic yet exploitive marketing practices. If you're trying to cultivate a healthier lifestyle it's more important than ever to keep your eyes open and stay way from the wellness washing trap.
Competition is useful and productive in healthy doses, but have we reached a toxic level of competitive mindsets in society as a whole? Hyper-competitive culture is distancing us from our own lives and keeping us in an exhausting cycle of comparison.  In this episode we dive into hyper-competitive culture and how we can escape the cycle of feeling less than by bringing balance to the negative inner monologue that thrives off comparison.
Let's clear up some things. Holistic health isn't as pretty as the pictures paint it to be on social media. Nor is it denying modern medicine. There are a lot of misconceptions about what it means to adopt a holistic lifestyle. In this episode we dive into what it means to be holistic and how combined with modern medicine it can totally enhance your life.

Our stories are so powerful. It's taken me a long time to find the voice to share my story. While every episode won't be a ramble of my past life, I feel that it's important to share my journey to this holistic high. What started as a storytelling episode ended up being a solo therapy session in my bedroom.  Check out my blog http://ApramadaWellness.com
