Description

What brings you hope? In these trying times, when it is so easy to lose sight of the good in the world, I want to engage in conversation with guests around what brings them hope, how they have risen above or succumb to pressures around us all. I am particularly interested in exploring how we can rise to the challenges ahead. Hyping Hope is ultimately about learning from others. I hope to use the stories, lessons, accomplishments, and failures to paint a brighter picture for tomorrow and foster a greater sense of positivity in our daily lives.

This week, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, a sexuality and relationship expert joins the pod to discuss how the pandemic and political tumult are impacting our relationships and those looking for love. It is easy to feel very isolated and anxious these days. She shares her path to working in the sexuality and relationships space and we cover a whole range of topics from parenting through puberty, out-growing friends, and relationships between people that hold seemingly contradicting beliefs, i.e. George and Kellyanne Conway.

We met circa 2008 at our alma mater, the University of Arizona. Our discussion takes us through Daniel's path to service, as well as how some transformational experiences have shaped his hopeful approach to life. Daniel's life changed in January 2011, when he saved the life of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords by rendered medical aid in the wake of a senseless shooting at a Congress On Your Corner event. Daniel shares about how that event has impacted his life and his approach to leadership. Daniel is currently in a contested primary to retain his seat and we wish him all the best!
