Coming January 2019, actress and and breast cancer warrior Erin Cummings takes a raw and refreshing look at what it's really like to get a cancer diagnosis - especially for young women who are looking for answers to the burning questions like, "do cold caps actually work to save my hair?" and "if the cancer is in my breast, what's happening to my vagina right now?" This five-minute teaser gives listeners an insight into what to expect from future episodes. From how to respond to the stupid things people say when you have cancer to when it's a safe time to do a downward dog after surgery, Erin welcomes her favorite medical professionals and "breast friends" for advice, personal stories and laughs at the often absurd world of cancer treatment. Thanks for this episode and for Jennifer and her recommendations, and resources to check out. I finally got to my PT and it's helping dramatically!

Cold capping is no joke but definitely worth it. I saved about 50% of my hair, not enough to not need a wig but enough so regrowth is going quicker. My costs were about $400 a month, plus $60 for dry ice each time, and shipping of the equipment back. I didn't have a consultant to help, but my mom, who was a rock star! :)

Fantastic episode. More informative than the consultant at my PCP who specializes in MMJ. I will be following Nurse Susan on FB now!

OMG when I started listening, I just wanted to know what stupid shit not to say to someone with cancer and a week later I found a lump... now I'm 31 with a breast cancer diagnosis and I feel a little less lost. So many things I didn't think of, would never have known! Finding this podcast was great timing in my life.

This is such an informative and fun to listen to podcast. As a nurse I wish this podcast would be suggested to newly diagnosed breast cancer pt's by their Dr. It would also be helpful to pt's with other types of cancer. thanks Erin for thinking and implenting this podcast.

I was diagnosed on March 1st with HER2+ Breast Cancer. The last couple of months have been a roller coaster of emotions and for me, finding this station and listening to your voice and saying the things that have gone through my mind so far have been very empowering and it calms my anxiety a tiny bit. Thank you for sharing your journey and I’m excited to continue listening.

I appreciate your transparency with your journey. I'm a grateful Cancer Survivor as well and I heard tons of stupid S*%&. I'm a black male and I didn't lose my hair while on chemo but it got really straight. Like I had a perm. People literally asked me, what kind of chemo I was on. "Why aren't you bald Charlie?" So while I was on chemo everyone thought I was either Puerto Rican or lying about chemo. So I got all the stupid questions that go along with that...haha....but overall I've been Cancer free for 25 years and I'm grateful.

I would like to know, how your dealing with the lack of sensation in your breasts? I had a bilateral mastectomy in February 2018, I opted for reconstruction surgery, but my nipples could not be saved. So I pretty much hate looking at myself and my boobs hurt all the time. Implants are uncomfortable, but I don't know if it's psychological or truly physical? I don't like letting my husband touch them or even see them.. Please lend some advice or even the support that I am not crazy and this happens.. thanks so much for your podcasts!!

Is there anything you can’t do? Actress, philanthropist, rockstar warrior superhero, smoke show, podcaster. Best of luck with this but you won’t need it, it’s brilliant and important.
