In 1969, San Fransisco newspapers began received taunting letters about murders that had happened in the area.  Police had not make the connection between them, and the killer wanted credit.

Ed Kemper has graduated to killing female hitchhikers.  His hate for his mother drives his fantasies.  He has a genius level IQ, and it makes him all the more dangerous.  He is portrayed in the Netflix series Mind Hunter.

Ed Kemper detested his mother.  She belittled and mocked him.  She refused to show him affection because she thought it would make him "effeminate."  His first kill was when he was 15.  He was sent to a mental hospital, but he fooled the doctors, as he had an IQ of 145, genius level.He was set free, and would become The CoEd Killer.  After his imprisonment, he would openly speak to the FBI on their first exploration into profiling serial killers.

De Angelo continues his crime spree of assault and murder, but suddenly stops in the 1980's.  DNA technology and a tenacious Detective eventually catch up to him, though.

Joseph DeAngelo between 1974 to 1986 committed untold atrocities, all while leading a seemingly normal life, as a husband and a small town cop.  Starting out as a peeping Tom, he eventually evolved into a rapist and serial killer.

Wylder continues his path of destruction across the US, even forcing an accomplice to come with him.

Christopher Wylder knew there was something wrong with him at an early age.  He had aggressive sexual urges of power and control, and they were evolving.  Knowing his luck would soon run out, he stopped letting his victims go and began a cross country killing spree of young women.

Gary Michael Heidnik's plan to capture women and keep them chained in his basement to "breed" them comes full circle.

Gary Michael Heidnik showed many signs of mental illness before his first murder.  At the end, Heidnik kidnapped 6 women, chained them in his basement in Philadelphia, and murdered two of them.
