Little Life Big Loss

The most extreme form of bereavement is parental bereavement, I know firsthand of this pain, after losing my baby girl Milli at only 6 days old with no indication of complication prior to her birth. As the weeks passed & we were riding the tsunami of grief those around us expressed how useless they felt. They didn't know, we too, felt so useless. From Milli's life & death, this podcast was birthed. A space for family & friends to be educated with us. A safe space for loss parents to share their story of baby loss Support & join the conversation, more info: https://linktr.ee/rochelleanddylan

Bec - Archie’s story - short cervix - 22 weeks stillbirth

Wow what a story! Bec’s incredible strength - what her body has physically been through.  Birthing her baby Harrison in May and accidentally falling pregnant only 6 weeks later. Bec talks so perfectly about how her 6 older children and step children are dealing with the grief, a grieving husband. How friends and family have done this well (and not so well)  Tips for midwives, a great OB, a beautiful funeral director - the list goes on. Annelise - Sophie's Mum - 2 vessel placenta, kidney failure for mum, growth restricted, 27wk stillbirth

This podcast, believe it or not, has lots of laughs (think of port-a-loo chats & Taylor Swift obsessions). Annelise was a joy to listen to, a lover of food and her now husband Mark (who she wed just 2 days after the birth and death of her baby girl Sophie). She had an amazing bereavement midwife (every hospital needs a Mandy in their ward!)  As discussed - the Centrelink bereavement line: 1800 118 388 LITTLE LIFE BIG LOSS the podcast for grieving baby loss families 👼🏼❤️‍🩹🌹🙏🏽You can find more of Milli’s Mum & her Little Life Big Loss journey:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/31lshY9vY7ZMYn1uEn9X6k?si=0a6bb06bb7f74d18 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKZB4PfSL7Gw_a6J51CSiqg TikTok: https://tiktok.com/rochelle.nicole.evrard Instagram: https://instagram.com/rochelle.nicole.evrard Facebook: https://facebook.com/rochelleenicole  The opinions shared by guests on my podcasts are the opinions of those individuals and do not always reflect the same opinions of mine. Liv - Siena's mum. 2 little kiddies on earth + 22wk stillborn in heaven

Talking all things heavenly signs - like roses, purple balloons & intuitive kids; this story is beautiful.  Marginal cord insertion, hyper coiling umbilical cord & a heartbeat that stops. Liv talks us through being told "I am so sorry your baby has died", her regret of not having more photos for in the moment it felt wrong but now wanting to look at them. Such good advise.  LITTLE LIFE BIG LOSS the podcast for grieving baby loss families 👼🏼❤️‍🩹🌹🙏🏽 You can find more of Milli’s Mum & her Little Life Big Loss journey: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/31lshY9vY7ZMYn1uEn9X6k?si=0a6bb06bb7f74d18  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKZB4PfSL7Gw_a6J51CSiqg  TikTok: https://tiktok.com/rochelle.nicole.evrard  Instagram: https://instagram.com/rochelle.nicole.evrard  Facebook: https://facebook.com/rochelleenicole  The opinions shared by guests on my podcasts are the opinions of those individuals and do not always reflect the same opinions of mine. Aimee - Lawsons Mum, a placenta insufficiency, abruption & HIE

Aimee is an Occupational Therapist who works with people who have had injuries at birth, never would she have imagined becoming a mother to a baby this happens to. But if so, she was prepared and the best person for the role of being Lawson's mummy. Sadly his injuries were so severe he only lived for 3 hours.  After a placental abruption, placental insufficiencies, hyper coiling of his cord, and an extremely traumatic vaginal birth including an episiotomy, vacuum and forceps, little Lawson's life was cut short. Aimee talks about postpartum without Lawson compared to postpartum with her precious little rainbow baby Banksie who was safely born just one year later.  Aimee is the beautiful woman I reached out to when I found out I wasn't bringing Milli home. She is a divine light and someone I respect a lot.  At the start of the podcast we discuss Aimee’s work as an OT and she wanted to add a better description of our discussion here: “cerebral palsy is brain injury or an abnormal brain development that can occur in before, during or after birth. The cause is mostly unknown but risk factors are infection when in utero (so like CMV), prematurity, low birth weight, prolonged oxygen loss during pregnancy, placenta insufficiency.”  If you wish to reach out to Aimee and join her support group on the Central Coast you can find her:@aimeee.taylor the support group can be found through @nurturemecentralcoast  LITTLE LIFE BIG LOSS the podcast for grieving baby loss families 👼🏼❤️‍🩹🌹🙏🏽 You can find more of Milli’s Mum & her Little Life Big Loss journey: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/31lshY9vY7ZMYn1uEn9X6k?si=0a6bb06bb7f74d18  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKZB4PfSL7Gw_a6J51CSiqg  TikTok: https://tiktok.com/rochelle.nicole.evrard  Instagram: https://instagram.com/rochelle.nicole.evrard  Facebook: https://facebook.com/rochelleenicole  The opinions shared by guests on my podcasts are the opinions of those individuals and do not always reflect the same opinions of mine. Hannah - Imrie’s mum. Suspected placenta abruption, 2 earth side babies

Wow! Hannah’s story is CRAZILY similar to mine. Where we birthed, the ambualnce, husbands driving up seperately. Baby in NICU, mother admitted as patient. Cooling mat for baby. The trauma, the unknown, the hell. This episode talks about the impact of trauma to her toddler also, the big sister of Imrie. What a divine little girl she is.   Hannah also speaks about pregnancy after loss and the birth of her 3rd child Oakey. POST LAUNCH EDIT FROM HANNAH: In this episode, we discuss that the main risk of a VBAC is placental abruption however it is actually a uterine rupture, which Hannah didn't suffer from. A placental abruption can happen at any time throughout pregnancy or labour. You can see all the incredible things Hannah is now doing  in the baby loss space: @ImrieMaecreative on Instagram or www.imriemaecreative.com  If you can support the show, I'd love for you to subscribe for only $1.99 per month. Bianca - Bronte's Mum. Contracted CMV, and birthed her baby at 20+1. Has 2 living children.

WOW - this podcast has a LOT of swearing! I cannot believe the way this story unfolded.  I met Bianca through a Mum's and Bub's personal training group, having no idea she had experienced baby loss until we lost our very own Milli. Bianca found out very early on in her pregnancy that she had contracted CMV what unfolds over her 20 weeks of pregnancy and post-birth will blow your mind. (How she didn’t get paid mat leave because the hospital BACKDATED her babies birth so she was therefore not eligible to register her birth OR get mat paid leave - is just one part!)  This podcast is very educational. Link to the Instagram page we discussed in the show: https://instagram.com/cmvstopswithme?igshid=YzAwZjE1ZTI0Zg== If you can support the show, I'd love for you to subscribe for only $1.99 per month. Maddy - Wren’s mum. HEI, cord prolapse, 8 day neonatal loss & 2 living bubbas

Wow! Today’s was so much great information from a midwife herself. Working in the industry, you’d still never imagine you’ll experience loss and trauma yourself. But Maddy did. Her second born, had a cord prolapse during labour. Being remote assistance didn’t come quick and sadly her baby Wren wasn’t able to stay on earth due to lots of complications. Maddy talks about all the wonderful things she’s done in the bereavement space in the name of Wren & her local community.
