Combining humor, playfulness, radical political perspectives, compassion and undeniable musical chops, Wheelchair Sports Camp is unlike any other hip-hop act around. Fronted by the wheelchair bound MC/beat-maker/activist/educator/shit-talker Kalyn, the band is a combination of live and electronic instruments with a more noisey, jazzy, experimental, combination to the traditional hip-hop group. The band has been featured on the cover of the Village Voice as well as in SPIN Magazine, Huffington Post, High Times Magazine and more. You can't really pin Kalyn's beats and collaborators to a specific era or subgenre of hip-hop, and she always switches up her configuration and presentation and methodology while making the music happen in consistently fascinating ways. The band unknowingly started summer of 1997 when Kalyn moved back from California to her hometown and was invited to attend and corrupt the 14th annual week-long Colorado Jr. Wheelchair Sports Camp. The band tours the states and beyond from their home in Denver.
King Eddie is the coltic psych ensemble led by Jay Mars. The Denver band’s new album, Holographic Universe, released Dec. ‘17, uses Virtual Reality as a metaphor for self-delusion. Facing a grave family illness immediately after the birth of his daughter, Jay navigates this duality through a sort of zen futurism to ask: if reality is maya, or illusion, may we create our own hologram? Jay relocated to Denver from Detroit, MI in 2016 to begin sessions for King Eddie’s second album Holographic Universe at Moon Magnet Studios. The band is currently working on a new EP due out sometime in 2018.

Let’s face it, Philadelphia isn’t exactly known as the bluegrass music capital of the world. While the city’s thriving music scene is one of the best in the nation, Philly’s signature sound in the twenty-tens has much more to do with distortion guitars than banjos. That’s just one of many reasons that the chance encounter in 2014 between two Northern Liberties neighbors that led to the formation of Man About a Horse was so unlikely. Three years later, the band has blossomed into one of the area’s most exciting bands on the American roots music scene. This quintet is known for its vocal harmonies–to which all five members contribute–its uptempo, high-energy sets, and its rock-solid, authentic songwriting. While bluegrass music is sometimes typecast as the sleepy, back porch sing-along, Man About a Horse infuses its music with flurries of sixteenth notes on banjo, fiddle, and mandolin that makes their shows hearken to bluegrass’ roots as dance music.
With their EP "Bones N' All", Native Station's eclectic blend of alternative-rock, pop, and reggae undertones will have you dancing and singing along to catchy choruses with a driving accompaniment. Ranging from a solo, singer/songwriter act to a powerhouse-of-sound quintet, the music is as diverse as its members and influences. Benjamin’s lyrics weave the figurative/metaphorical world of deserts, seas, and wolves with the strife and rebellion of the average working, loving man, that create vivid imagery in a catchy way that is chanted and screamed from the hearts of his avid wolf-army fan base. The lyrics are supported with a powerful rhythm section, heavy keys and flamboyant drumming, fantastic electric guitar and organ leads, and an impressive amount of vocal harmonizing.
The Fort Collins-based, blues-fusion band Musketeer Gripweed simply explodes onstage with the energy and fervor of a revival preacher out to save a filthy sinner’s soul. This group of highly accomplished musicians, however, isn’t about pushing religion – unless your religion is drinking, dancing and some damn good music – they’re about creating “American revival, stomp, shake and holla” music. With a passion influenced by modern and classic rock ‘n’ soul heroes, Musketeer Gripweed creates an extraordinarily powerful live energy, and the band’s “gasoline intense vibe” manifests in spontaneous, uncontrollable dancing and a compulsion to stand up, run to the stage and testify.Jason Downing – guitar, dobro, harmonica, vocalsEhren Crumpler – guitar, vocalsBen Hockett – bass, vocalsMatt Goldberg – keysStu Crair – drums, percussion, vocals

Produced and engineered by Colin Bricker of Mighty Fine Productions in Denver, CO, the album is due for worldwide release on January 9, 2018. “In many ways, this is a coming of age album for the band,” says Johnny Burroughs, lead vocalist and bandleader. “The identity of the band has finally come into focus as we have discovered who we are and locked in our sound.”Got To Feel thematically explores the ups and downs of navigating life and relationships amidst uncertainty, and finding clarity in a world full of noise. “In life we cannot always control the circumstances in which we live, or the emotions that we feel,” explains Burroughs, “but we can choose who we are when faced with those situations. We can feel anger and frustration, but choose to not be defined by them.”No newcomer to uplifting spirits, Johnny Burroughs works as a licensed minister and music pastor. His church upbringing serves him well on stage, where the red-headed frontman sings, dances, and screams audiences into a revival-like frenzy. His dynamite backing band includes a sizzling 4 piece horn section and tight 4 piece rhythm section that are as versatile as they are fun to watch. The band’s live performances are capped by choreographed dancing, soaring solos, and funky grooves, with the goal of moving the audience to a joyful celebration by each show’s closing tune.
