Have you tried using Setapp for that? I can say that it's not that hard to install and set up apps with it, and for me, it's highly useful. Since I work with videos pretty often, I use Capto and EZGif pretty often, and I managed to discover them on https://setapp.com/how-to/crop-video-on-mac a while ago. And in general, Setapp has a wide selection of useful tools that can improve the performance of your mac.
I periodically have difficulties installing or setting up certain apps, and I don't understand how to solve these problems. I try to google, but I can't always find a solution.
