As we anticipate the arrival of Ramadan, we would be remiss to not acknowledge the changes exhibited in the past year. While some things may lie within the nuances of our daily lives, others have left a void within our routines and have become treasures within our memories. Taking Accountability Before Ramadan!  With the dynamism of ideologies sequestered in the current world, understanding the depth of our roles and responsibilities can aid in taking accountability. The traditions that stem from the Qur’an and Sunnah provide a groundwork on how we can be transparent about our faults and fuel our obedience to Allah (SWT). Ramadan can be a source of peace for some but a source of stress for others. It becomes a time for families to sit with each other and break their fast, to read Qur’an together during the day, and pray Taraweeh at night. However, many times we become so involved in preparing the best food and hosting the best iftar parties for our friends and family that we become blind to the true purpose of Ramadan. As humans, grief and anxiety are two emotions that drag us down spiritually. This is why we enjoy fresh starts and chances to renew our spirituality. On our Virtual Journey, we visit different monuments near the Ka'aba, one of the notable being Mina.  It is where the Prophet SAW struggled to receive support, even being rebuked by his own uncle. Because of the influence of the Prophet SAW (through the will of Allah SWT), the Ka’bah🕋 had experienced a New Beginning. Even after migrating🐪, the Prophet SAW had a connection with the Ka’bah, hoping for the Qibla to be changed towards it. Years later, during the Conquest of Makkah, the Prophet SAW told the Quraysh that it was a day of mercy, not defiling the sanctity of the House of Allah. The Prophet SAW cleaned out the idols🗿 and painted pictures inside the Ka’bah, returning the House of Allah back to complete monotheism, tawheed. The Ka’bah is a symbol of the connection with Allah, with the ummah unified under the belief of tawheed, the Oneness of Allah.
