""Second Wind" is reminiscent of DJ Premier's Jazzamatazz series" buy https://juno.co.uk/products/shinji-in-colour/699273-01/?ref=dig Australian rhythm-twister Shinji refers to his music as “eclectic hip hop instrumentals with no regard for genre or tempo” and promises that he’ll “flip even the most obscure samples into soulful beats.” This modus operandi is evident in his debut long-player for the Cold Busted label, In Colour. Twelve captivating beat constructions reveal the breadth of Shinji’s record collection and the absence of stylistic boundaries. This makes for an impeccably cool listen, working both for the beat-heads and in the headphones. Highlights include the chunky soul groover “For Some Reason,” the spacey Spanish-flavored guitars and percussion of “Pioneer,” “Menace” and its evocative electronic treatments and drum breaks, and the delicious ‘70s soundtrack funk of “Grand Mash.” There’s something juicy for any discerning listener within Shinji’s inventive sample concoctions. In Colour, loud and clear.
Buy EP http://bit.ly/2FfnidV Buy Digital http://bit.ly/2qZGtDd Robin Lee takes a break from his day job as Faze Action to slip into the occasional Rudy's Midnight Machine alias for this outing on his own label. It's a mellow, atmospheric ride into pastures you wouldn't normally associate with Faze Action, although "Midnight Safari" is smooth and luxurious enough to feel right in any context. "In The Air" has a mysterious air to it, helped in no small part by the evocative Eastern lilt of the strings running through the centre of the track. There's a sassy boogie step powering "Reach Backless," while "Windchimes" flips the script with a semi-ambient live bass reverie. It's back to the party one last time with "Solar Plex" though - this record is about synthy funk first and foremost.
Rudy (aka Robin Lee from Faze Action) makes a welcome return on FAR, taking in the atmosphere of sunnier climes. Buy vinyl http://juno.co.uk/products/rudys-midnight-machine-by-nature-ep/601817-01/?ref=dig Digital http://junodownload.com/products/rudys-midnight-machine-by-nature-ep-exclusive/3213143-02/ The title tracks opening cascades and swirling synths fall into an easy Balearic groove, with singing melodies, exotic marimbas, a chugging synth bass and production echoing a mix of Compass Point, Grace Jones et all on holiday in Europe, whilst setting the scene for the EP. The 2nd track is introduced by hypnotic tones against analog synth arpeggios and haunting synth solos, invoking the "Sky Goddess". Back down to earth on the flip side is an invitation to sail down the "Shimmering Coast", with its relaxed guitar groove and keyboard flourishes all underpinned by a stunning 80s sounding bass line. Dropping anchor at "Fortune Lagoon", we are treated to some of Rudy's personally designed analog keyboard sounds, which mange to challenge yet retain tropical warmth.

Tough beats move alongside swirling strings, soundtrack-ish atmospheres, and nostalgic orchestral arrangements, all seemingly lifted from obscure vinyl thrift store finds in the sunny retirement capitol. It’s a refreshingly perfect mix of elements, resulting in ‘beats music’ that is amorous and enchanting. This is even more apparent on Brandon*’s latest long-player on the Cold Busted imprint, titled Dreamscape: Part 4*. The producer’s other Dreamscape releases explored his distinct sound, and this latest brings Brandon*’s M.O. to further maturity and acclaim. From the bombastic bossa of “Cabana Chat” to “Oasis”’s gentle acoustic guitars to the tropical jazz vibe of “Rio Dio”, Dreamscape: Part 4* will delight and captivate, and nicely compliments an exotic cocktail. credits released February 24, 2017 Special thanks to my family, friends and my listeners who've supported me every step of the way ilovebrandon.net All music produced and arranged by Brandon* Design by Vitamin D Executive Producer, Derrick Daisey All works registered with Some Cutz Up (ASCAP)

Support the artist http://www.junodownload.com/products/alien-disco-sugar-bootleg/2946701-02/?ref=dig Alien Disco Sugar's last outing was a formidably disco-centric affair, so it's nice to see him switching attention to more Balearic matters - in part, at least - on this latest offering. He begins with the sumptuous sunset grooves of "I Want U (Aegean Sunset Mix)", where tactile nu-disco grooves are smothered in hazy trumpet solos, sensual strings and twinkling pianos.

Migrations Anniversary Party Goju, Montech Saturday, October 12th, 2013, Soul II Soul, Podgorica Montenegro https://www.facebook.com/events/219690668181580 The story began in the fall of 2003. On October 14th, Marko Stojović entered the premises of a local radio station in Podgorica, and began airing some tunes. The set would last two hours. The encapsulated in his booth-Marko, would instantly arrest the imagination of those feeling the need of a radical musical migration from a mediocre uniformity of ever so popular radio stations. The show emulated a unique perspective on modern musical twists and turns and it would incorporate genres such as broken beat, house, hip-hop, modern funk, soul and jazz. Later on, in the summer of 2007, Marko welcomed another hi-fi enthusiast in his booth, the last of the Slavs ever to bear the nostalgic name of Yugoslav Starovlah, a.k.a. MrGoju, who ceased this opportunity to express his own sonic understanding of today's affairs, and after Marko decided to retire from the show entirely, MrGoju took over, moving on his own and keeping up with a busy managing and marketing schedule, however, never disregarding the essence of that which brought this radio show to life. Since it was first aired on October 14th, 2003, Migrations Radio Show have gained international following, establishing relations with various radio stations, new labels and fans worldwide. Now, 10 years down the tracks, Migrations Radio Show is releasing its "10 Year Anniversary Compilation", a selection of some of the MrGoju's faves in the industry. Needles to say our migrations continue, and our next stop is the one we go back to over and over-Soul II Soul, Podgorica, Montenegro, the club that has always generously supported us and shared our vision of an acoustic journey. This is a unique opportunity to invite our followers and life-long supporters to a live show, where we will play some soulful birthday tunes and handout some recorded audios of our show! Hope we'll meet you there! http://www.mixcloud.com/migrationsradio/2011-10-15-migrations-anniversary-party/
Digest Music Vol. 3 support http://www.junodownload.com/products/2218371-02.htm/ With the final track by Lisbon-based producer Mr Bird, compiler Goju takes a step towards trip-hop, making sure that no stone is left unturned. The EP captures perfectly the very essence of what Migrations has been about for a decade now. A constantly growing community of todays' jazz heads, starting from Montenegro as a radio show and becoming an international record label (it's enough to take a look at the diverse nationality of the producers contributing to the compilation) that's now recognized all over Europe.
