Luca Steiner (@steinerluca_) is a consultant working in the Banking and Credit Risk Management space. He is a big believer in Web 3.0, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and has been deep down the crypto rabbit hole for over 2 years. He is a digital nomad of sorts, splitting his time between Frankfurt Germany and Stavanger in Norway.   Jonty Quenet (@GalacticQue) first started trading and investing in stocks when he was 13 and has made the transition to crypto investing in the past few years. After looking beyond the charts and understanding the true promise of the technology, he has become a firm believer in Crypto and Web 3.0. He believes it is time the average person has control over their own wealth, which can be enabled through innovations in crypto.   The two guests join Luca Bersella, the host of Mindshift, to breakdown Ethereum (which at the time of recording hadn't been smashing its ATH), how it works versus Bitcoin, how it is a global supercomputer and why it is so valuable in the context of its analogy to digital oil.   ETHEREUM RESOURCES:  Ethereum website: https://ethereum.org/ ETH Deep dive: https://www.notboring.co/p/own-the-internet Crypto & Web 3 Deep dive: https://medium.com/coinmonks/crypto-and-web-3-0-are-the-future-of-product-and-work-3d19e3733181 Why Ethereum is undervalued: https://twitter.com/CroissantEth/status/1412574228973563909  PODCASTS:  Bankless: https://open.spotify.com/show/41TNnXSv5ExcQSzEGLlGhy Into the Ether: https://open.spotify.com/show/2CNyWXgKVxTqTlmLhc8A5m?si=oNSl_SASTY-g0_9Eoxtoow&nd=1 Breakdown of Ethereum: https://open.spotify.com/episode/5ZXzLELW1489aCjUPHjTO4 All-In Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/2IqXAVFR4e0Bmyjsdc8QzF  BOOKS:  Mastering Ethereum: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Ethereum-Andreas-Antonopoulos/dp/1491971940 The Infinite Machine: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Infinite-Machine-Crypto-hackers-Building-Internet-ebook/dp/B07X8HS2WC Ethereum for Dummies: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1119474124/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=gs2&tag=dummiesuk-21  CONNECT WITH LUCA STEINER:  https://twitter.com/steinerluca_  CONNECT WITH JONTY QUENET:  https://twitter.com/GalacticQue Discord: https://www.patreon.com/AlphaSquadCrypto/membership  Timestamps:  00:00 Introduction  2:55 Origins of Ethereum & its Defining Features  11:38 Global Supercomputer, Digital Oil & The Network Value  13:38 Proof of Work vs Proof of Stake  18:25 What Give Ethereum Value?   19:45 What is DeFi, Adoption Possibilities, Yield Farming  26:18 Notable Projects on Ethereum & Competitor Platforms  34:03 EIP-1559 Upgrade, Ultra-Sound Money, Future Prospects  41:24 Future Outlook for Crypto, The Decade Investment  47:23 Crypto Resources & Who to Avoid  51:10 Conclusion

In this episode of Mindshift, Luca and Jonty breakdown Spotify’s business model, business strategy and their growth opportunities to answer this question. In this brief episode we discuss the importance of sleep in our daily lives and share some useful tips, hacks and resources we have found in our own pursuit of sleep optimisation!  While we aren’t sleep doctors or experts of any kind, it’s worth noting there is no hard and fast rule with sleep, it’s very personal and is all about whatever works for you - what we have found is that you have to experiment with things by consuming different methods and opinions and then applying them for yourself.  We’ve found a good night’s sleep can be the key to top performance, and we wish that for you too!  As always reach out to me on Twitter @lucabers with your favourite podcast moment or with any feedback.  We hope you sleep well :)
Minimalism is the active pursuit of less, identifying and prioritising the things that actually add value in your life. It doesn’t mean that you need to sell your house and get rid of all your possessions - it’s more of a mindset that tunes out the noise of the modern world, zoning in on what TRULY MATTERS to you.  In this episode, we unpack this mindset and go deeper into its themes, especially in light of the COVID crisis, which has stripped our lives down to the bare minimum.  Drop a review and let us know what you think of the episode, or connect on Twitter (@lucabers) to start a conversation about minimalism!  As always, we hope you enjoy :)
Ever wondered what effect AI is going to have on humanity? Maybe it’ll drive our cars for us? Maybe it will assist us at home? Maybe it’ll take all our jobs? Or they’ll become self aware, manufacture deadly robots and enslave humanity...?  While the last one is highly unlikely (and straight out of Terminator) AI is going to have an unprecedented effect on the human race, the way we live and work - We like to think that it will be for the better!  In this episode we discuss the current status of AI, what it could mean for the future across a number of industries and businesses and dive into how the tech actually works.  We also share a tonne of resources where you can expand your learning on this amazing topic! We hope you enjoy this episode, it’s one of our best yet!  Start a conversation on Twitter @lucabers about what you liked the most, enjoy :) RESOURCES WE FOUND USEFUL ON THIS TOPIC: Link to Edx Harvard courses: https://www.edx.org/course/cs50s-introduction-to-computer-science  Coursera: AI For Everyone  YouTube: Age of AI
In this episode we reflect on our experience at university - We both studied at UCT for 5 years and have so many insights and lessons we learnt (from inside the lecture hall and out).  We discuss what we would have done differently, the importance of networking, making use of your time and much more - We even have a fiery debate on our differing opinions over university course content!  As always we hope you enjoy, thank you so much for the support.  If you have any feedback or comments for us please tweet me - @lucabers :)
In 2019, Luca helped found a e-commerce jewellery business and in this special episode we take a deep dive into that experience - highlighting key insights he learned on the way. We had so much fun recording this one - reminiscing and reflecting on our experiences, mistakes and lessons learned from business. Our one hope is that you can learn from the mistakes we made and apply these insights into your own business!  As always, tweet me @lucabers with any feedback or comments you have and we hope you enjoy this one :)
In this brief but impactful episode we share some of our stories, mistakes and learnings from our limited but valuable interview experience! Being able to perform a successful interview is such an important skill for anyone, whether you’re a student or professional and is something that is rarely touched on in schools or formal education. These skills are even transferable to other areas of business and life! So we hope you can learn from the mistakes we made and absolutely crush your next interview by utilising some of the tips we share. As always, we hope you enjoy the episode - reach out to @lucabers on Twitter with any feedback you have and drop us a review on Apple Podcasts! :)
We're living in the age of the personal brand, in particular the personal brand which is native to social media. In mine and Jonty's opinion there is no better platform to start building that brand than LinkedIn, whether you're a student, CEO or photographer. For those of who have never heard of this amazing social media platform - this episode will give you the lowdown on what the platform is, how to optimize your profile and how to create content native to the platform. To those who are familiar with LinkedIn, this will motivate you even more to continue taking advantage of the platform's massive organic reach. Please reach out to me on LinkedIn with any feedback you have or tweet me @lucabers with your thoughts! We hope you enjoy the episode!

Jonty and I want to send our deepest condolences and respects to the people of colour who have lost their lives to police brutality or some other form of racial prejudice. We know we will never understand what people of colour have gone through and still go through to this day - but we will do everything we can to try, by educating ourselves and doing more listening. We believe all of this is inhumane and we will do our utmost from here on to move the world to a more equitable place.
