What have been your goals so far? Have you been able to accomplish them? What are your plans for the rest of 2022? Once we set goals, we all have expectations. Today's guest is Pastor Paul Blake of the Old Harbour Church of Christ. He is an author, and also Founder and CEO of Words Worth It Publishers. According to the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, many children in Jamaica face extremely difficult realities in their families and communities. This often results in government authorities removing them from the situation. Foster care has been a desirable alternative to placing a child in a residential childcare facility. It is Youth and Parent Month. Foster Care provides an opportunity for us to reignite the village, and empower youths for Jamaica 60 and beyond. My guest today is Renate McDonald, a foster mother. Today she shares with us her foster care journey.
Parenting is an awesome responsibility that God has entrusted to those who become mothers and fathers. It does not come with a manual, but parents learn how to navigate the space, with the support of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and more. Today we focus on the reality of some families where, outside of the nuclear, the blended, or the single-parent family setting, mothers and fathers are engaged in co-parenting relationships. Just how does that work?
Research indicates that one in four individuals' and families' lives are altered by the death of their child during pregnancy, childbirth, or infancy. Still, there is a stigma surrounding pregnancy and infant loss why so many parents suffer in silence on the loss of their child. Today we are shining a light on pregnancy and infant loss. My guest is Jihan Williams, an attorney, and author.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer. Women are generally encouraged to do a monthly self-examination and annual mammograms. A breast cancer diagnosis is not the kind of news any woman wants to receive from the doctor. But if they do, it is a relief to know it is not a death sentence. Although we have lost so many women to breast cancer, many women have survived this dreaded disease. My guest today, Julie Davis, is a survivor and she will share her story with us.
Did you know that 1 in 8 people around the world lives with mental health conditions? The COVID-19 pandemic caused a 25% increase in the prevalence of anxiety and depression worldwide. We may be familiar with the term "challenges come in all sizes, shapes, and forms". But it is how we approach them and persevere that determines how we learn and grow. Have you or anyone you know had the experience of an "Absentee Father"? Can you identify with the pain of a strained or broken relationship with your father? Fathers play a significant role in the lives of their children. When they are absent it is evident. Today's host is Reverend Teddy Jones and the guest is Marjaalaine Francis. She will share with us what inspired her to write her book, some of the negative cycles she has encountered, and how she was able to forgive and reconcile with her Absentee Father.

Today's guest is Stefanie Bent-Bucknor and she will share her journey, and just how this has impacted her life.
Can you believe it? We are in September and it is time for back to school. Still in a pandemic, but thankfully we are no longer under lockdown. In the last two school years, students were predominantly engaged in virtual learning. Unfortunately for some, there was no learning as some students did not have access to data or devices. Back then we often spoke of the new normal. However we choose to describe it, the majority of Jamaican students return to school this week. Today's guest is Arlene Hay, an educator, and student success coach.
Regardless of the challenges you may be experiencing personally, it is only temporary. You can get through this. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 700,000 people die by suicide each year. Furthermore, for each suicide, there are more than 20 suicide attempts. Suicides are preventable, Everyone can help prevent suicides by learning the warning signs, promoting prevention, and just seeing how we can be our brother's keeper. Today's guest is Dr. Donovan Thomas and he will share with us what is suicide, what signs to look for, and where persons can get help.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Global Employment Trend for Youth 2022 report finds that the pandemic has exacerbated the numerous labour market challenges facing those aged between 15 and 24 years who have experienced a much higher percentage loss in employment than adults since early 2020. While this finding may be daunting for many, there are some young persons who are defying the odds and have chosen to start their own businesses to generate much-needed income. I have one such today, Tajari Ellington.
One can agree that the pandemic has created many challenges, including loss of income. However, it has also created a myriad of opportunities where persons have utilized their skills to provide goods and services while generating much-needed income. Have you ever considered operating your own business? Entrepreneurship and investment are not new. If we do market research we will realize that there is a myriad of businesses across the globe and more youths are taking on the entrepreneurial journey, supplying their niche markets. Today's guest is Racquel Robertson and she will share with us her business journey. What inspired her to start, what challenges she has encountered, and the influence of her faith in God on business?
Today we are going to delve into a topic that so many of us can relate to, "Career Moves". All of us at some point make a decision about our careers. What is it we want to do? Many young persons have graduated from high school since June / July and some will be graduating from tertiary institutions in a few months. Some are certain of their career choice while others are uncertain of the next step. This morning I invite you to commit your career move to God. Today's guest, Shakeria Mesquita, is an author, educator, productivity coach, and CEO of  Goal Achievers Empowerment Services.
We have come to the end of the seventh month of 2022. What have been your goals so far? Have you been able to accomplish them? What are your plans for the rest of the year? One thing we know, once we set goals we have expectations. Sometimes they are met, at other times they are just not met and we experience disappointment. As believers, we are encouraged to count our many blessings, and name them one by one. However, every now and then we encounter situations that leave us disappointed. As long as we are alive this will happen, but just how do we deal with disappointments? Today's guest is Reverend Paul Blake. He will be sharing with us some practical ways how to handle disappointment.
There are times we find it challenging as believers to live the life that Christ has called us to. I want to encourage someone today to surrender every area of your life to Christ and walk in fellowship with Him. Whatever we encounter in this life, however difficult it may be, we can seek God for His divine intervention and transformation. Once again our guest is Sashell Hall, a mother, author, and founder of  "Positioning Youth For Greatness". We continue to focus on "The Power of a Second Chance".
