I Will TALK and not WALK 10 Tips for helping you talk through conflict: 1. Ask Yourself “Why am I Upset?” 2. Remind yourself you can’t read their mind 3. Schedule a time to talk 4. Discuss just one issue at a time 5. Avoid name calling or attacking the person’s character 6. Avoid the words “always” and “never” 7. Use “I Feel” Statements 8. Take turns listening and speaking 9. Don’t yell- instead, take a time out if you need it 10. Seek to understand and come to a place of resolution. What is your goal here for meeting? Just getting things off your chest is not a good reason to meet and dump on someone.
