Description

A podcast for new real estate agents that provides the best strategies, tools, tips, and advice for getting started. Getting into real estate can be challenging, I should know! I received my real estate license on January 31, 2020, about a month before Covid-19 blew up.
I created this podcast, Youtube channel, and website to help out and support new real estate agents. There are a LOT of variables to juggle from the types of lead generation strategies you're going to implement to staying organized to keeping a winning mindset. Check out newagentmindset.com!

Wow, can you say breaking promises? My apologies for the long absence (again) even though I promised I was going to be more consistent. What is trust...promises kept over time! Anyhoo, in this episode, I'm going to talk about the 1 question that I think new real estate agents ought to ask themselves when choosing a broker.
Optimize or DIE!

Optimize or DIE!

2021-07-0718:16

Hello fellow agents or soon-to-be agents! In this episode, I'm going to talk about how difficult it's been to pull off my 'Year 2 Reset' and how stressed and exhausted I've been lately. All of this failure and turmoil has helped me come to my new favorite tattoo slogan of 'Optimize or Die.' Year 2 Reset Begins!

Year 2 Reset Begins!

2021-06-2327:57

This episode marks the start of my second year with EXP Realty. While I've actually been a real estate for a year and a half, the first 6 months of my career were consumed by Covid and trying to figure out how to pivot and start making money! Those first 6 months were with Keller Williams before switching to EXP on June 23 of 2020. The reason that I'm calling this a 'reset' is that I have decided to make some necessary changes in myself and my business. We all need to constantly assess what's working for us and what isn't. This episode is a preview of some of the changes that I'm making in my business and I hope that they provide insight and value for you as well! Are you a control freak? If so, reconsider your profession as a real estate agent!  In this episode, we are introducing a new segment called 'Story Time' where I'll routinely share stories that new agents might never have heard of or even considered could happen. My goal is to help new real estate agents be better prepared for what they might encounter. This particular story is about coincidences, conspiracy theory listing agents, and doing your best to handle situations that are completely out of your control.
How NOT to Negotiate

How NOT to Negotiate

2021-05-1316:37

In this episode, we are going to talk about a trend that I've noticed lately in some agents. Everybody knows that a real estate agent is supposed to be able to competently negotiate on their client's behalf. However, when was the last time you received training in this skill or learned anything about it? I'm going to talk about a very unprofessional way that many agents approach negotiation from the very start.
In this episode, we are going to jump into the book by Dale Carnegie called 'How to Win Friends & Influence People.' This is a great book that was written back in 1936 and has been read over and over by the world's most successful people. Interestingly enough, the first chapter of this book is VERY similar to the first agreement in the book by Miguel Ruiz called 'The Four Agreements.'
Hello new real estate agents and I hope that you are all doing great! I thought that I was going to shelve the podcast but I just couldn't stay away. It's been a little while but I've decided to come back and try to be a resource for new agents looking for advice, strategies, and general discussion regarding the life of a new agent. It can be pretty tough out there and I'm hoping that this podcast will be a place where you can find value. In this episode, I'm going to tell you about the biggest mistake I've made so far. If you like, please send an email to john@newagentmindset.com with your biggest mistakes or questions that you'd like answered. All the best!

The Power of Your Word

The Power of Your Word

2021-02-1018:47

This episode is about the first agreement from the book, "The Four Agreements" by Miguel Ruiz. You'd be surprised how powerful your word can be! Also, I couldn't help talking about Grant Cardone joining eXp.
This episode is all about a listener to the podcast who is working a full-time job AND doing real estate part-time. He is looking for advice and a "better strategy" and I do my best to provide him with exactly that. At the same time, one of the 'Four Agreements' comes into play in his situation and we start to explore that as well.
I've found myself saying, "Don't leave money on the table." I'll explain what that means to me and how I'm trying hard to take my own advice. Also, I've been saying that sellers are preferable to buyers, even though I haven't had any yet. I had a couple of recent experiences that helped me see that buyers aren't that bad after all.
In this episode of New Real Estate Agent mindset, we are going to answer a listener's question about how to decide on content. It is very easy to have an unfocused message that wanders. In my humble opinion, you want to identify the target audience and craft a message or story that resonates directly with their story!
This episode is all about getting started as a new real estate agent. A listener recently asked me how a new agent should get started. This is exactly what I've been thinking about and what I would like NAM to become over time. This particular episode breaks down my advice for new agents into 3 very important steps from making sure that this career is for you to generating and converting leads. Welcome to 2021 friends! In this episode, we introduce you to the book by Don Miguel Ruiz, called "The Four Agreements." The author is from the Toltec lineage and his book, in my humble opinion, is hands down, the best book for people looking to embrace a new mindset. I am very excited to start talking about his ideas and how they can help new and existing real estate agents find more clients, have more successful interactions with others and generally find peace and contentment.
This episode is all about goal setting for the new year. Typically, we make annual or yearly goals at this time of year. However, I recently came across a different idea that I believe has a lot of merits. 🔥 Subscribe to the podcast, I put out new episodes every Tuesday! 👀 If you are looking for more resources for new real estate agents, check out https://newagentmindset.com 📩 I can be reached at john@newagentmindset.com CONNECT WITH ME: F A C E B O O K ➳ https://www.facebook.com/john.pena.9404 I N S T A G R A M ➳https://www.instagram.com/john_david_pena/ L I N K E D I N ➳ https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-pena P I N T E R E S T ➳ https://www.pinterest.com/johnpena0595/
This episode is all about my experience with my mentor. As a new agent with eXp, I was automatically enrolled in the mentorship program. This episode will break down my thoughts about the importance of having someone that you can go to with all of your newbie questions. We also discuss the amount of money that I've made since my last fiscal update!
In this episode, we are going to talk about the book, "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent" by Gary Keller. This legendary book is full of great advice and a very specific and detailed plan to become a millionaire real estate agent.  Also included are some thoughts about getting organized when the clients start rolling in and working with other agents.
This is the final lesson from the book by Og Mandino entitled, "The Greatest Salesman in the World." We will sum up all of the previous mindset lessons and go over the final lesson. This is a great book for anyone in the sales business, especially new real estate agents!
Just Start

Just Start

2020-12-0118:32

This episode is all about a lesson from "The Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino. There are a total of 10 lessons in the book for salespeople and this is lesson 9. Many people do all of the legwork or research-gathering of a task, career, or idea BUT never start! This lesson is for those who are willing to start.
Here is our first annual Thanksgiving episode! Best to everyone.
