Christina aka "The Almost Hippy" is one of my straight shooting, no BS, 100% aligned with her values friends who I love chatting to whenever possible. Christina has a very natural ability to not GAF what anyone else thinks. She genuinely does not care which you will hear in the episode. We talk about how to not GAF, how someone who has wishy washy someones on/off values & behaviour is basically impossible to trust & what the impact of not thinking about long term consequences is. Follow Christina here: www.instagram.com/thealmosthippy & check out the link in her bio for everything we talked about in the episode. It's been a week since Balenciaga released their "Holiday" campaign which blew up "the common folk" aka you & me, on social media, while celebrities & the mainstream media have barely said a word on it. Pressure continues to mount on the media & celebs because surprisingly to them, the vast majority of society actually doesn't approve of child porn! Shock! I know! In this episode I break down the Balenciaga Saga & look at the Selena Gomez documentary "My Mind & Me" which has nothing to do with Balenciaga, but both tell the story of the toxic Hollywood culture & how we as the consumers, keep it alive! The news article I refer to is here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-28/balenciaga-designer-brand-controversial-campaign-explained/101707536 And you can find my go to for all things truth/news related here: www.instagram.com/houseinhabit Don't forget to rate & review the podcast on your listening platform if you loved it. Ana has been one of the biggest gifts to come into my world in relation to learning about money, currency, the financial systems in the world, how it's set up & how its designed to keep all of us 'commoners' in the dark! The rich are getting richer for a reason, it's not by chance, it's by design! Part 1 of my riff with Ana can be found on her podcast "The Money Mindset Podcast" which you can listen to on SPOTIFY or APPLE We spoke about how to find resilience when you feel like there is no where to pull it from and recounted how I healed the trauma from the natural disaster & other trauma's in my life. In this episode Ana asks the question "how do we heal from the sisterhood wound" which is feeling the need to compare ourselves with others. As all good conversations go, we riff about online business, trauma healing, money, aliens & the world!  I hope you feel like you're sitting at the table with us, having a coffee, chai or juice & just hanging with some of your like minded friends. Follow Ana on instagram at: www.instagram.com/money_mindset_matters Ana's Podcast: on SPOTIFY or APPLE Ana's Website: www.ana-pereira.com Please rate & review the No Smalltalk Podcast if you enjoyed this or any other episodes on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
An article published in The Atlantic in the US went viral a few weeks ago when a professor suggested the world needs to declare a pandemic amnesty & move on form what happened so we can heal. Nice idea, but healing isn't a press a button, say lets move on everyone & then it magically occurs. Wouldn't that be nice if it did! This is the article I refer to in the podcast: https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/10/covid-response-forgiveness/671879/ There is SOOOO much wrong with this article in relation to missed opportunity to truly heal & the continual gaslighting & dismissive language & behaviour that comes from the people who perpetuated the heightened fear that crippled & divided, families, friends & society. The sad thing about all of this is, there is such an incredible opportunity now to do some deep restorative healing, but I feel like the opportunity will be missed due to dismissive behaviour that is all through this article. Is it time to move on? Should we just get over it all? Does she have a point? How can we actually heal? This & more inside the episode! Enjoy, and let me know what you think. Rosie xo
In the light of Harvey Weinstein's second trial in L.A, the conversation about sexual abuse & the offenders is once again circling. A topic that is deep, heavy & most people don't want to talk about from their own experiences or people they know. As I talked a bit about the trial on my social media, I had some very brave women reach out to me to share their stories of abuse & one of them was happy to come on the show to share her story. The common theme with survivors is the enormous amount of pain they go through to be believed. People have no idea what a victim has to go through to be believed & what not believing them does to their long term self worth, mental health & overall quality of life. Sadly, 4 out of 6 adults would not believe a child or victim of sexual abuse if they came to them with a disclosure, and that is what this conversation is about today. This is a highly sensitive topic & I encourage you if you are triggered to please reach out to 1800RESPECT, an anonymous hotline for anyone who has/is experiencing any form of abuse, seek support from your local Sexual Assault Service which are found at all major centres around Australia &/or reach out to your GP for a referral to a therapist who specialises in trauma & sexual abuse. Find someone who specialises because it is so different when it comes to how the support the victim & their family needs. Please keep this conversation going. It is so important that there is more awareness around this. More women & children need to be believed. Every watched an Insta Mom & had Miss Comparisonitis pay a visit? "Oh if only I could parent like her" "Her photo's always look so good" "Her kids have the best life, look at them" "I wish I could parent like her"...... Enter...... "Here's your new online course that will save your life & make you the best parent ever! Because I'm an expert, or, I know all the experts on that" Is it working & are we missing something? Something that is right in front of us if we'd only bother to lift our eyes up from the screens & see the real world around us. Real relationships, real people who actually have more than 2yrs parenting experience. This is one of my fav solo riff's I've recored so far. I hope it gives you all the feels & shifts your perspective. Rosie xo PS. You know I love Insta, come say Hi PPS. If you'd love to explore working with me check out my website www.rosienerney.com
Imagine living in a house your entire life, and it was attached to a beautiful resort with all expenses paid luxury living, but you didn't know about it! Welcome to being a woman in the 21st Century, and the 20th century, and the 19th century and all of life so far to be honest! When I first learnt about the power of a woman cycle, to be honest, I felt really ripped off! How could I not understand my entire body & how if functions until I was in my mid 30's? Why aren't women taught this? Why is the world literally designed to cater only to a males biological rhythm? In this episode I break down the basics of a woman's hormonal cycle & what you can do to live in more flow. Can your trauma & past experiences impact your parenting?  100% yes, not only can it, it does, whether you're conscious of it or not. It's called No Smalltalk for a reason! One of societies biggest hush topics is toxic family members, cutting family members & the story of "family bond is unbreakable". I share stats, stories & solutions around this topic. - How many people really have toxic family members according to statistics - Common traits of toxic family members according to the research - What allowing toxic family abuse will do, to you & your family - What a repair looks like with emotional maturity - How to find peace within yourself if you have chosen to remove toxic family members from your life Of all the women I have coached over the past year, 100% of them have toxic family members that have impacted them negatively in some way, shape or form. This is an important topic to start normalising conversation around because just maybe, if enough of us talk about it, people will realise that family bonds are breakable & do the work to become emotionally mature adults who do not continually cause harm to people in their life. In 2011 I started a psychology degree & completed 12 months of it before a divorce took all my attention & I deferred it indefinitely. I thought that maybe one day down the track I would come back to it, until 2020 & all that came with it highlighted the cost I would have to pay, on a personal, professional & soul level, if I pursued that path. I really think anyone with an open mind will love this episode, and also, if you have a degree & are not happy & fulfilled with your career, this may trigger you. If it does, I'd invite you to dig a little deeper as to why it has stirred up those feelings & emotions within you, AND, make sure you choose 3 questions at the end of the episode & journal on them. Rabbit Holes - metaphorical ones - became rampant in 2020 but have been around for many many years, decades & centuries. Humans are curious by nature & looking into other possibilities is really healthy, until its not! The rabbit holes that people went & are still going down since the pandemic have seen so much divide & some people have lost their joy for life, getting so caught up in everything wrong with the world they are living in constant high alert mode. Has this happened to you or someone you love? We dive deep on this topic in the podcast with some serious real talk around these topics and solutions on how to help others &/or yourself reconnect to how amazing it is to live on this planet.
Humans tend to go through life in westernised society thinking they will live forever. We get so caught up in the most insignificant things that we forget & are detached from the reality that is... we are all going to die!  This is something that I have come to learn about & deeply understand, as I grieved the loss of my mother as her terminal disease started to slowly steal her from us. When you think about dying, you are reminded that you are not here forever and that in the big scheme of things, it's a very short trip! Are you living a life today, that will be worth remembering in years to come?
It's are you ok day here in Australia but is it enough or do we need to do more to change the culture & get to the core of what is really causing these devastating issues in our society? Please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 if you are someone out know is in need of immediate mental health support. https://www.lifeline.org.au/resources/data-and-statistics/
This episode will give you so much clarity on what the difference is between a coach, mentor, healer, teacher etc & how knowing this can get you better results and ultimately save you a lot of money!  If you don't understand what each profession does, how can you truly make an informed choice or even know what results to expect when you don't know what each profession does! If you stay in the murky waters, the sharks (aka fancy marketing that sells you something you don't really need) will get you!  Swim in the crystal clear, understand each profession & choose what results you want & who will be best for you! Just because, it's a conversation that we need to start having & it's a conversation I want to be part of. Once you listen to this entire episode, you will understand why & hopefully gain a new perspective on ageing, the cosmetic industry & what beauty actually is. I referenced Darin Olien talk about it on his podcast which you can listen to here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/00BVhhVku0LcSlsqeMqJOg?si=0f612b5181744ad7  The 60 mins episode on how cosmetic doctors are slicing, dicing & malpracticing with their patients is here: https://9now.nine.com.au/60-minutes/cosmetic-surgery-australia-a-worse-look--60-minutes/f45eb05e-ce71-4dc8-895b-8b23956d551b And the song that you need to have blaring in your car & around your girls, by the amazingly talented Jax, is here: https://open.spotify.com/track/4svaKoxMMP7ImmKrD5hfQu?si=6f975c6be7834fc6 I know this is a touchy topic for so many women, would love you to send me a DM on instagram & let me know what you thought of it. It's well known in the personal growth world that despite the courses, seminars, workshops, motivation etc etc, only 5% of participants actually manage to create & sustain long term change & success in their life! That's 95% that get all hyped up & then come crashing back down after the event, podcast, workshop etc! Great for business with repeat clientele, not so great on a human level when you have so many people desperately wanting to change but they just can't make it stick. As a successful goal setter & achiever, believing I was in the 5%, nothing surprised me more when all of a sudden, I stopped dreaming, I stopped setting goals & even stopped feeling what it was like to dream, imagine & create. After working with a few (very expensive) coaches, and still having no answers as to why I could not get my shit together, I came to the conclusion, I was the problem, something was wrong with me, until, I completed trauma informed training in my Coaching Evolved Life Coaching Certification where, FINALLY, I understood what was going on with me, and also, what was happening for so many women I had worked with over the years. If you have ever struggled to set or achieve goals, or got stuck in a funk where you haven't been able to dream, imagine or create, this episode is for you. There is nothing wrong with you my friend, your body is just trying to keep you safe. That ick feeling when you feel hustled into purchasing something. Ughh, it's so yuck, but how do you recognise it in the middle of the sale, and, how do you avoid it in the future? Breaking down manipulation, gaslighting, spiritual bypassing & all the yuck ways that purchases are being pushed onto you so you can 1. understand how it works & 2. make sure you are in control of yourself so that regardless of what the sales pitch is, you have ultimate control over yourself & your nervous system when it comes to buying things, big & small! Visit Rosie on Instagram @rosienerney & share your fav parts of the episode & the awareness you gained when it comes to how you purchase to get best results.
Hustle was the buzz word not only in business, but in all areas of life. The teenager hustling for their end of year exams, the Mother hustling with her 2 jobs & the kids. Hustling became glorified in western societies culture, until 2020 hit, the pandemic began & we were all jolted to a stop very quickly. In this space, many of us realised how burnt out we were & that we never ever want to hustle again. We realised what it did to our health, relationships AND to how we showed up, often not as out authentic self, but in the role of the hustler in life/parenting/schooling/business. In this episode, Rosie breaks down what hustling is, what a hustling mother is & why it is no longer a sustainable way to live or do business. Stay tuned to the end where you will get a take action challenge to not only embrace the slower pace for your own life, but also celebrate others who are doing the same. If you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review so other people struggling with the hustle burn out can find it & take steps to a slower, successful & sustainably paced life.
