Team Sunweb - If I was the DS

Welcome to another episode of 'If I was the DS'. This is probably one of the last episodes of this series before we start getting into race previews later this month, if you could let me know how you think this series was by leaving a review I would be very thankful :)Anyway, today, Team Sunweb released a video showing their riders for the Tour de France and Giro d'italia. I will be going through their selections and sharing my thoughts on how successful the team will be. Because the video didn't contain a Vuelta team I will be making one up on the fly so if you want to see me thinking on my feet give this episode a listen. The next team on the series isn't decided, it will likely be on a team that releases their roster in the coming days.

EF Procycling - If I was the DS

EF has grown in strength over the past few years to the point where they have a strong GC team to back up their key man: Rigoberto Uran. With the team in financial difficulty, it's imperitive they get results. We select the teams that will do just that. This episode accommodates for the calendar changes implemented by the UCI which has moved Il Lombardia earlier to the 8th August. Previous episodes were in line to the previous calendar.

Team INEOS has a tricky job of managing three TDF winners into 1 team. Today, alongside my brother, we will be discussing how INEOS can solve their problem - or at least our takes on it. Who should be selected to support the leaders? Should Froome have leadership priority? Will friendships falter? Find out in this episode.

Deceuninck Quick Step - If I was the DS

This is the 1st episode of a series I'm going to do where I create the rosters for the world tour teams. Today is Deceuninck Quick Step, the UCI ranking leaders, I try and organise this team of winners based on rider goals but also on what is most likely to get the best results. The foundation of my thinking is built on who to send to each of the Grand Tours and then work on which races best suit the build up to that. Tune in next week for the next teamP.S: sorry for the background noise

The head and tail of the UCI calender

With optimism in my heart I'm taking a stab at making sense of the UCI calender. With plenty of overlap teams will have to be savvy with their rosters, I'll be talking through the races deciding which ones will be hotly contested and which could be left in the dark.

Tour of Poland preview 2021

Puncheurs delight at the Tour of Poland this year with fewer stages for the pure sprinters, the GC will be contested mainly on stage 4 which has a mountainous finish and on the stage 6 TT.Pre-race favourite Joao Almeida will go up against 2018 winner Michal Kwiatkowski. INEOS Grenadiers bring a strong squad for GC whereas other teams also bring a sprinter, the main sprinters being Pascal Ackermann, Fernando Gaviria and Alvaro Hodeg.

Who's going to win the Clasica San Sebastian 2021?

After the excitement of Le Tour de France and the Olympics, we head to Spain for the classic Basque race. This is usually won by a solo rider or from a reduced sprint, this is why the likes of Julian Alaphilippe are the favourites to win. Steep gradients characterise this race, the last climb finishing with around 10 kilometres to finish. Who do we predict will win? Listen to the end and we'll tell you

Tokyo Olympics - Who's going to win the Cycling Road Race?

With Wout van Aert as the big favourite for the race, can anyone beat him?  Pogacar and Roglic line up for Slovenia which will make the other riders worried considering they're the best riders in the peloton.Outsiders like: Mollema, Almeida, Yates, Lutsenko, Gaudu etc will hope to attack early and perhaps solo to victory. Not many will want a reduced bunch sprint except Wout, Schachmann and maybe Valverde. We discuss the route, the weather and the tactics that we could see on Saturday. We each give our predicted winner too so we can look like geniuses when they win ;) ;)

Were we blinded by Tadej Pogacar's Tour de France performance?

The 2021 Tour de France was won by a gap of almost 6 minutes! This has lead to questions of the legitimacy of Pogacar's  performance and whether there has been any doping involved. We wanted to talk about this and explain why we think Pogacar isn't doping, but is in fact just an exceptional athlete. Alongside this we discuss why him doing so well has possibly covered up more suspicious activity that may have gone unnoticed.

Giro d'Italia week 3 Preview (stage 17, 18, 19, 20 & 21)

It's the final week of this grand tour and Egan Bernal leads by over 2 minutes to Damiano Caruso. Hugh Carthy moved up to 3rd place after a brutal stage 16 where the weather prevented us from seeing most of the finale. Stage 17 has a steep mountain finish that could see Bernal winning his 3rd stage. Can anyone stop him? That's what we talk about.
