After a summer sabbatical, I'm back in pod-land and so excited to be talking with you about recalibrating for healthy relationship. In this episode, we'll chat about the difference between good stress and bad stress, and why both are really just signs that your relational muscles are getting a workout. In this final episode of Season 2, I'm sharing why I've decided to pause the podcast for the summer....even though I was sure we'd keep going. Inside, you'll hear: 🌿 What finally convinced me to step back for a season, even after feeling certain I'd found a sustainable rhythm 🌿 How this decision brought back memories of something that happened right after my youngest daughter was born — if you've been listening a while, you might remember this story, but today I'm seeing it in a whole new light 🌿 Why honoring the season you're actually in matters more than sticking to the plan you made 🌿 What the Church teaches us about rhythms of rest, reflection, and renewal Plus, I'm offering a few simple reflection questions to help you discern whether it's time for your own pause, pivot, or deeper trust. Mentioned in This Episode: The Family Day Retreat at the Waverly Retreat House (Lincoln area) on July 13 — come say hi if you're local (or want to be for a day. 😉) Season 3 of the podcast returns on August 25 🎉🎙️ Subscribe to the Soulful Sundays email for weekly-ish reflections over the summer Reflection Questions: 1️⃣ What am I hearing in my spirit right now? If God were whispering clarity to me, what might He say? 2️⃣ What does my body feel when I imagine stepping into this choice? Do I sense peace or tension? 3️⃣ What story am I telling about why I can't change my mind? Is that story true, helpful, or necessary? 4️⃣ When I picture this season, what image comes to mind? What would it look like to honor what's unfolding rather than resist it? I'll never tell you whether to stay or leave a relationship—that's a deeply personal decision, and safety always comes first. What I will say is that sometimes, when one person starts to shift—by speaking up, setting boundaries, and reconnecting with who they are—the dynamic can begin to change. In this episode, I share a moment at the gym that unexpectedly mirrored what real strength looks like in hard relationships. It's not always in the dramatic decisions. In today's episode, I'm joined by Ashley Montag, MS, LIMHP, LMFT—a Catholic therapist and founder of Restoration Psychotherapy—for a rich and grace-filled conversation about what true healing looks like: mind, body, and soul. We talk about the difference between trauma and unforgiveness, and why the feelings that surface when we see someone from our past don't necessarily mean we're doing something wrong. Ashley shares powerful, compassionate insights about being fully seen by God and learning to live from your true identity, even when old wounds resurface. In this episode, we dive into a deeper examen of how we may unknowingly contribute to the relational patterns we desperately want to break. This isn't about blame—it's about awareness, growth, and the freedom that comes from doing things differently moving forward. Today's episode is one that I know will stay with you. I'm joined by Lauren from Louisiana—the first guest I've had on the show who I met out on the interwebs—and I've completely fallen in love with her beautiful faith, her mindful way of sharing her story, and (let's be honest) her pursuit of the perfect king cake. She's a mama of four, and in this conversation, she opens up about the silence she once kept around the pain in her marriage, the mixed responses she received when she finally spoke up, and the slow, sometimes lonely process of finding people who could truly enter into what she was experiencing and be the support she needed in the storm. Her story is a beautiful reminder that even just one person who sees and believes you can make all the difference. This is an episode I'd encourage anyone in the Church to hear—there are real opportunities here for awareness, compassion, and hope. Whether you're walking through your own valley or love someone who is, I pray Lauren's voice is the lifeline you didn't know you needed. 📱 Stay Connected: ➡️ Follow me on Instagram: @andyarbie ➡️ Visit my website: www.andyarbie.com/connect ➡️ Questions about working together? book a discovery call: click here
Someone recently asked me how to find a spiritual director, and I shared the best advice I ever got: Even when you think you've found the right one, meet with them a few times before you decide. That wisdom has echoed in so many other areas of life. Because often, we want clarity before we take action. But what if the clarity only comes after we've had the courage to show up, take the next step, and trust the process? In this episode, I'm sharing the tender truth of what it means to move forward without all the answers—and how transformation unfolds one faithful step at a time. 💫 Want more support as you take your next brave step? • 1:1 Coaching: If you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck, I'd love to work with you personally to help you regain clarity, set healthy boundaries, and move forward in peace. In today's episode, we dive into the powerful shift from asking "Why?" to embracing the bigger questions that lead to real change in your life. We often get stuck in the cycle of wondering why things happen or why people act the way they do, but this focus on "why" keeps us from stepping into the role of a change agent in our own lives. I'll walk you through how shifting your perspective can help you take control, make powerful choices, and move toward the transformation you're seeking. Whether you see yourself as a leader or not, this episode will encourage you to take action and start asking, "What am I willing to do?" as you become the catalyst for change you were always meant to be. Welcome to Own Your Revival! 🔥 Have you ever had a moment where what you thought was secure suddenly felt shaken? That happened to me one morning when I discovered something in my home that made me feel deeply unsafe—something I did not expect to find. In that instant, fear and betrayal hit me like a wave, and my reaction only escalated the tension. But instead of staying stuck in the storm of my emotions, I turned to prayer, specifically asking Saint Rita to intercede. What happened next was a powerful reminder that we are never alone in our struggles. In this episode, I'm sharing how I found peace in the midst of chaos, the lessons I learned about pausing before reacting, and how we can navigate broken agreements with both faith and practical wisdom. 🔗 Resources & Links Mentioned in the Show: A Prayer to the Holy Spirit (by Cardinal Mercier) The War Room Movie The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 🔥 NEW: Revival Community Looking for faith-filled support and guidance? Welcome to Own Your Revival! 🔥 IIn 2025, the word "vulnerability" has been chasing me, appearing in unexpected places and conversations. Reflecting on my recent speaking engagements, I noticed that sharing my personal testimony + journey left me feeling a wee bit exposed 😅, yet the feedback often highlighted my vulnerability. This made me question: Did this have more to do with me, or was it resonating with others' stories, hearts and minds? Interestingly, we often feel more comfortable with others' vulnerability than our own. Brené Brown's insight comes to mind: "Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity." By embracing our own vulnerability, we create a space for others to do the same, fostering deep connections and mutual healing. In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on vulnerability, authenticity and personal growth. 🔗 Resources & Links Mentioned in the Show: The One Word book Luke 10:19 Harriet Tubman Movie (2019) Daring Greatly, Brene Brown Episode 59 with Laura Buddenberg Episode 46 with Rachael Tvrdy Tyler Braden, "Call me First." 🔥 NEW: Revival Community Looking for faith-filled support and guidance?
