An 18-yard touchdown pass from Billy Dicken to Brian Alford gave Purdue their first lead of the game. The Boilermakers would keep the lead, beating Oklahoma State 33-20 in the Alamo Bowl in 1997. Keep a lead in your field all season long with Pioneer® brand A-Series soybeans.
In a 2000 overtime game at Wisconsin, a Purdue blocked field goal and an Ashante Woodyard scoop and score were the difference. The 36-yard touchdown return ended the game, giving the Boilermakers a 30-24 victory. Using Pioneer® brand corn in your fields gives you the victory at harvest before the season even begins.
Purdue capped off a 2007 Motor City Music Bowl scoring fest with a last-second victory. Kicker Chris Summers hit a 40-yard field goal to give the Boilermakers a 51-48 lead with no time left on the clock. This game came down to the wire, but your 2020 planting plans don’t have to. Add Pioneer® brand corn to get victories in your fields!
Amid a four-interception day against the Buckeyes in 2000, legendary Purdue quarterback Drew Brees took the field with less than two minutes to go. On just the second play of the drive, Brees connected with a wide-open Seth Morales for a 64-yard score. The fans stormed the field as the #16 Boilermakers beat Ohio State for the first time since 1988. Bring powerful moments like those to your soybean fields with Pioneer® brand A-Series soybeans for a harvest victory each fall.
During their 2000 Rose Bowl season in a game against Wisconsin, Purdue won the overtime coin toss, electing to defend. After pushing the Badgers back on the first three plays, the Boilermakers blocked the field goal attempt. Ashante Woodyard scooped up the loose ball and returned it 36 yards for a game-winning touchdown. This was a huge win for Purdue, just like using Pioneer® brand corn can be a huge win for your fields.
With 30 seconds left in the 1998 Alamo Bowl, Purdue quarterback Drew Brees connected with Ike Jones for the go-ahead touchdown. The Boilermakers would upset the #4 Kansas State Wildcats 37-34 in an improbable bowl victory. Unlike the Boilermaker’s surprising victory, you can expect Pioneer® brand soybeans to yield the results you need.
After seeing a 17-point halftime lead erased, quarterback Elijah Sindelar put the Boilermakers on top for good with a 38-yard touchdown strike to Anthony Mahoungou. Purdue defeated Arizona in the 2017 Foster Farms Bowl, giving head coach Jeff Brohm his first bowl win at Purdue. Sindelar to Mahoungou was a winning combination, just like the combination of world-class genetics and rigorous local testing in Pioneer® brand corn products.
The 2016 Purdue-Illinois contest was a back and forth game all afternoon. Separation finally came in overtime when struggling freshman kicker J.D. Dellinger hit a 28-yard field goal. The game-ending field goal gave the Boilermakers the 34-31 victory and brought The Canon trophy back to West Lafayette. While this game is a rivalry, Pioneer® brand A-Series soybeans have an unrivaled soybean lineup.
Using a play named for former Purdue head coach Joe Tiller, the 2008 Boilermakers beat the Michigan Wolverines 48-42. The hook-and-lateral play surprised the defense and fans alike as Justin Siller threw a pass to Greg Orton, who then lateraled the ball to Desmond Tardy, who took the play 28 yards to the endzone for the game-winning touchdown. Just like Purdue surprised the defense, farmers can surprise pests with Pioneer® brand Qrome® corn products, which have robust insect protection coupled with great product performance.
Quarterback Robert Marve scored the lone overtime touchdown to beat Ohio State in 2011. His offensive line helped make that final push into the endzone, just like Pioneer® brand corn products push yields to higher levels in the field.
In Joe Tiller’s first season as Purdue head coach, he made a statement in the 1997 Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma State. Make a statement on your operation with Pioneer’s industry-leading insights and high-yielding genetics.
Iconic Purdue quarterback Drew Brees led the Boilermakers on a comeback to beat the Kansas State Wildcats in the 1998 Alamo Bowl. The win helped Brees etch his name into Purdue history, just like Pioneer® brand A-Series soybeans are making history as the highest-yielding soybean line-up ever introduced by Pioneer.
