066 - Mercy, Dir. Timur Bekmambetov Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson lead the cast in this story where, in the near future, crime is judged by an AI Judge- the alleged guilty must prove their innocence in 90 minutes or less while strapped to the chair that will be the tool of execution if found guilty.  Is it just Minority Report in Los Angeles? Yes.  Is it strong enough to stand on its own?  Have a listen to find out. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:10:30 - Box Office  0:16:30 - Movie Recommendation- The Blair Witch Project, Dir. 065 - 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Dir. Nia DaCosta In 2002, 28 Days Later made Zombies scary again.  They were faster, more relentless, and stronger than any other franchise, redefining what made "Zombies" scary.  With a low budget, Danny Boyle was able to create a very scary atmosphere with a wonderful cast of characters with a wonderful end sequence with an iconic score thats stretched over every film since.  2007 brought us 28 Weeks Later with a bigger budget and larger scope of the outbreak with a bigger cast and more action. 2025 brings us 28 Years later- the first film in a planned Trilogy that rewrites some of the rules of the universe and undoes much of the good that the original gave us.  2026 brings us The Bone Temple- a very divisive 2nd installment in the 28 Years Later Trilogy.  What did you think- Does The Bone Temple carry the Legacy of the 28 Franchise well or not? 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:11:15 - Box Office  0:14:20 - Movie Recommendation- Dawn of the Dead, Dir. 064 - Greenland 2: Migration Greenland (2020) was such a surprise, even more so because of the Pandemic.  It's a movie that understands what it was trying to be very well- a very emotional yet action packed story about a family who found each other again who fight to stay together amidst a world ending event.  It's a story of survival and hope in the face of tremendous loss.  The score by David Buckley was excellent is capturing the haunting and tragic side of humanity as it fell apart- most notably people forced to say goodbye to one another, knowing an impending doom was close behind. Enter Greenland 2: Migration which did none of this even remotely as well as the original.  It's a hollowed out, poorly researched, and soulless version of what should have been another haunting tale of survival and hope.  2026 deserved to start off better than what this movie allows for.  Disappointment, thy name is Greenland 2: Migration.  0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:12:30 - Box Office  0:25:00 - Movie Recommendation- Greenland, Dir. 062 - Marty Supreme

2025-12-3001:20:27

062 - Marty Supreme, Dir. Josh Safdie  Along comes a movie like Marty Supreme.  It has all the makings of an Oscar Winner, down to a very unlikeable character played by someone who produced the movie.   Timothy Chalamet puts out another unforgettable role as Marty Mauser- a man who will do and say anything to be the best at his game: Table Tennis.  He's a man who manipulates any and all situations and is very unlikeable, but is that part of the charm?  You tell us.   0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:06:30 - Box Office  0:09:15 - Trailer - Odyssee (2026) 0:28:00 - Movie Recommendation- Dune Part Two, Dir Denis Villeneuve 0:34:30 - Timothy Chalamet- How good is he really? 0:47:30 - Marty Supreme, Dir. 2025-12-2301:52:23

061 - Avatar: Fire and Ash, Dir. James Cameron James Cameron is a director who has made some of the biggest films of his time.  The Terminator, Aliens. Terminator 2, True Lies, The Abyss, and Titanic, to name some.  Avatar (2009) became one of the biggest box office successes in history with its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) doing almost as well.  2025 brings us the newest installment, Fire and Ash- a rehashed story form the first two films and a smaller opening weekend.  is this Avatar fatigue?  Or simply the results of a movie that is not as good as expected? 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:07:45 - Box Office  0:11:00 - Trailer - Avengers: Doomsday (2026) 0:22:45 - Movie Recommendation- The Terminator, Dir. 060 - Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Rian Johnson Benoit Blanc is back!  ...He appears just after the 36 minute mark, which is way too long.  However, this Knives Out Installment is pretty great.  For Netflix, this is a huge win. Daniel Craig's wonderful and charming detective with a southern drawl is accompanied by an ensemble cast that is also wonderful.  The fun in this one isn't figuring out whodunit but whytheydoneit.  Don't miss it- On Netflix. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:09:30 - Box Office  0:14:00 - Trailer - The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping 0:26:50 - Movie Recommendation- Se7en, Dir David Fincher (1995) 0:30:30 - Big Netflix Releases vs Big Theatrical Releases 0:46:30 - Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Dir. 059 - Five Nights at Freddy's 2, Dir. Emma Tammi Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) was a surprising hit.  It was absurd, but had elements to make it work in ways it probably shouldn't have.     Five Nights at Freddys 2 (2025) somehow lost the magic it had.  Did we need another Five Nights at Freddy's Movie? 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:09:30 - Box Office  0:12:30 - Netflix Acquiring Warner Brothers? 0:33:00 - Movie Recommendation- Arachnophobia, Dir Frank marshall (1980) 0:38:00 - Five Nights at Freddy's - Did we need a sequel? 058 - Zootopia 2, Dir. Jared Bush / Byran Howard Zootopia (2016) smashed many box office records and received wonderful critical acclaim- over 40 awards.   Zootopia 2 (2025) is more of the same.  Is that a good thing or bad?  Does a generic sequel to an insanely popular animated Disney film have to reinvent the wheel or simply exist?  Tune in, find out. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:19:15 - Box Office  0:24:45 - Trailer - The Mandalorian and Grogu 0:36:00 - Movie Recommendation- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Dir. 057 - Wicked: For Good

2025-11-2501:37:03

057 - Wicked: For Good Wicked is a beloved stage musical that lit the world on fire with very memorable performances.  The film adaption did many things right.  Wicked: For Good is more of the same good choices that made the 2024 part one so well received.   It's easy to like Wicked and Wicked: For Good and it's not hard to see why. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:14:40 - Box Office  0:21:45 - Trailer - Super Mario Galaxy  0:31:00 - Movie Recommendation- The Wizard of Oz, Dir. 056 - The Running Man (2025), Dir. Edgar Wright From Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987 to Glenn Powell in 2025- we get to revisit the Steven King story- The Running Man.  It's a look at a dystopian future where government control has everyone squeezed to the breaking point and one man is forced to risk life and limb to get money to help his sick daughter.   Does that sound hokey?  It should.  The Running Man (2025) succeeds in being a visual upgrade but doesn't use the means to fully tell that story.  Handsome Glenn is a huge plus though.  If you get to see this on IMAX, you won't regret it.   0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:13:10 - Box Office  0:17:00 - Trailer - Scream 7 0:30:00 - Movie Recommendation- Total Recall, Dir Paul Verhoeven (1990) (Paramount+, MGM+) 0:35:15 - The Running Man (1987) and  The 80's Futuristic Science Fiction Vision 0:55:30 - The Running Man (2025), Dir. 055 - Predator: Badlands

055 - Predator: Badlands

2025-11-1101:33:36

055 - Predator: Badlands, Dir. Dan Trachtenberg Predator (1987) started the franchise off as a Science Fiction masterpiece- an almost unbeatable hunter doing battle against a special forces commando unit complete with Arnold Schwarzenegger and director John McTiernan 80's magic.  Now, in 2025, we get the latest installment with a twist- the Predator is not only the protagonist but also very humanized and we are sympathetic towards him. Predator: Badlands tries to be different in an already very established franchise.  There are some excellent points made on this episode: Is this an Alien movie with a Predator in it?  Has Predator been Disney-fied, complete with a Stitch-esque sidekick?  Does this film make sense in the established Predator (and Alien) universe?   0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:06:50 - Box Office  0:09:10 - Movie Recommendation- Predator, Dir. John McTiernan (1987) 0:18:15 - The expanded Predator & Alien Universe 0:47:00 - Predator: Badlands, Dir. 054 - Bugonia

2025-11-0401:32:52

054 - Bugonia, Dir. Yorgos Lanthimos Bruce Springsteen is a cultural and musical Icon of his time.  A Rockstar that wrote and sang for the common man, the blue-collar worker.  His name is one that people know and time will never forget. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is a very small piece of that timeline, set in the years before "Born in the USA" while working on his "Nebraska" album adapted from the novel by Warren Zanes.   The catch to this film?  It's a much slower look into those years and his almost crippling depression.  Jeremy Allen White is fantastic, as always, along with his supporting cast.  Springsteen fans will enjoy this.    0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:09:00 - Box Office  0:19:45 - Movie Recommendation- Nightcrawler, Dir. 052 - Black Phone 2

052 - Black Phone 2

2025-10-2101:36:16

052 - Black Phone 2, Dir. Scott Derrickson  The Black Phone (2021) was a solid mix of elements that made a smart, supernatural and atmospheric thriller that kept you on the edge of your seat.   Black Phone 2 (2025) adds to the lore with the same cast of characters plus a few more in a isolated story at a lake where the supernatural allows for a great villain to once again terrorize his victims.  Is it as good as the original?  Probably not.  Is it a good Black Phone movie?  Yes.  Like Tron, you will love the visuals and the sound, along with the many homages to the 80's.       0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:11:00 - Listener Questions Answered- Minority Report (2002) 0:16:15 - Box Office  0:22:15 - Movie Recommendation- Joy Ride, Dir. 051 - Tron: Ares

2025-10-1401:36:55

051 - Tron: Ares, Dir. Joachim Ronning Tron (1982) and Tron Legacy (2010) left some pretty big shoes to fill.  Both were visually stunning for their time and sounded incredible with scores to really help them to stand out as unique in their space.  Tron: Ares (2025) shares those same qualities.  While the story for Tron and Tron Legacy wasn't the strongest, the writing, visuals and sound helped make those benchmark films for their time in the Sci-Fi space.  Tron: Ares, sadly, will be forgotten with time.  It looks great and sounds awesome.  But it's got a non existent story with characters whose names you've already forgotten.   0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:12:20 - Box Office  0:15:30 - Looking Forward to Weekend of 10/17 0:16:10 - Trailer - Mercy (Chris Pratt- 2026) 0:22:30 - Movie Recommendation- BladeRunner 2049, Dir.
