Description

Young women have been growing up with an indoctrination of what womanhood is and what it should be. They've been taught everything that is in direct opposition to the Word of God. Young women who want to be different from the world are rare but they are real. Audrey Broggi will often be joined by her daughter and her daughters-in-law who desire to be discerning in a day when everything seems to go against God's design.

The Song - Chapter 2

The Song - Chapter 2

2024-02-0558:30

Great godly men and women are both rare finds. Yet God shares the words of the Shulamite: "Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men."  And really, this is the mirror of Proverbs 31:10, "An excellent wife, who can find?" In our world today, it can seem there's a shortage of both. However, in every generation, God raises up great godly young men and women. This week's podcast, covers chapter 2 of the Song. I trust it will be of encouragement to you. House Builders

House Builders

2024-11-1801:01:23

Women are house builders. Proverbs 9:1 says, "Wisdom has built her house . . . " Verse 10 says : "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." This week's podcast will help us understand some choices we must make to be wise house builders. www.audreybroggi.com
The Woman Who Builds

The Woman Who Builds

2024-11-1201:04:00

Proverbs 24:3–4 states this: "By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge, the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches." God is so kind to trust women to build homes whose rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. As we build our homes, we are strengthening the country, and we have a major influence in the world. When we do this, we are bringing honor to the Lord. On this week's podcast, we focus on what  it means to be a biblical housebuilder. I trust it encourages you. www.audreybroggi.com
The poem "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle is the Hand that Rules the World" was written in 1865 and although the phrase remains, the poem has long faded from memory. As you listen to this week's podcast, you will hear a lot from the book of Proverbs, you will hear the poem, and by God's grace, you will be renewed in your heart about what it means to walk with God moment by moment doing the things God has called you to do. And one of those things is rocking the cradle. The world may not notice your faithfulness in the home, but God does. And it matters. www.audreybroggi.com
Workers at Home

Workers at Home

2024-10-2901:06:28

Working in the home matters. Being there for your people - making a house a home matters. All throughout the Scripture, we see how God created women to be keepers of the home in a very special way.  Then specifically in Titus chapter 2, when the Lord is giving a curriculum list of what the older women are to teach the younger women, one of those is to be "a worker at home. " This week on the podcast, we're going to explore that phrase and even talk about how it has become so controversial in our day. I trust it will be helpful to you and as always, visit my website at audreybroggi.com for more encouragement.

This week on the podcast, I share some thoughts about home. No matter where or how or when we grew up, we never forget our home. Home is supposed to be something really special. It is supposed to be the place where we are loved unconditionally, taught, guided, sheltered, and protected in our youngest years. It's supposed to be a place that prepares us for life. God has a heart for the home. He established it. It is my prayer that this podcast encourages you. And as always, visit my website, audreybroggi.com where you will find more encouragement for life

Rest For Our Souls

Rest For Our Souls

2024-10-0801:07:20

Jesus gave an invitation in Matthew's gospel:   “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” That invitation still stands for us today. On this week's podcast, we get glimpse of some people in the New Testament and how Jesus taught them to rest even when they were disappointed in life, even when their circumstances overwhelmed them, and even when they were distracted and flustered. What Jesus taught still stands and applies for us today. And as always, you will find lots of encouragement at my website www.audreybroggi.com

Launching Pt. 4

Launching Pt. 4

2024-09-0133:03

When I recorded the first "Launching" episode, I didn't know it would evolve into a four part series, but here we are. In this week's episode, I share some raw emotions as to what it was like for me launching our last two children from the Broggi home. And as I did, my thoughts gathered around Psalm 100 as I closed out the podcast. Who knows? I may return to this theme again because as I shared in the show notes last time, we are always launching our children. We never stop being mothers. We never stop loving them, praying for them, cheering for them, and holding them close our hearts. You will find lots of essays I've written about my life journey and things God has taught me over the years at my website www.audreybroggi.com

This week on the podcast, I am joined by my daughter-in-law, Maureen and you'll hear from her about launching their first born son, Jack, to college and all the steps they made preparing for this time in their lives. You've heard from me in these last two podcasts dealing with this topic and as I shared on the show notes last time, I still have another podcast in my bones to share on launching next time ... Launching Part 2

Launching Part 2

2024-08-1945:38

I had a feeling I wanted to do a follow up after last week's podcast. And even after recording this week, I want to do more. Why? Because every single one of us begins launching our children as soon as we find out we're carrying them. We launch them from the womb into the world and then we launch them every time they say a word or they begin to take steps or they go to their first play date or to story time in a class whether at church or at school ... Our lives as women are spent launching our children from one stage to the next, and it continues, even after we have launched them from our homes - because in our hearts, we're still launching them as we watch them grow in their adult years, have their own families, and sometimes God even allows us to witness their lives as they begin creeping into their senior years. So this week on the podcast, I continued with the theme of launching as my thoughts gathered around Psalm 90. Many of you are in the years of walking through life changes I was walking through 20 years ago. I want to encourage you and I know that one day, you will  be where I am now should the Lord tarry. I have much more to say in future podcasts. I pray this week's drop will be encouraging to you. My girls are very busy right now with their families, but they are taking time in September to come to Beaufort individually to teach a study they co-authored titled Chosen in Love at our women's ministry, Woman's Life. Their messages will be aired on the podcast during the month of September. Launching

Launching

2024-08-1145:51

As my son and his wife launch their first child from home, I have been thinking about so many things. Life is filled with bittersweet moments. This past week, in particular, I have been filled with so much nostalgia as I reflected on how quickly time goes by, how important it is that we invest the time God gives us well, live in the moment yet all the while look forward to the future. It's interesting, but as I was searching for a  document on my computer, I came across a response I had written to someone's question back in 2004. It was a time in our lives when we were launching three of our children from home at the same time ... that was the year we had three graduations and a wedding. And though we had begun the process four years earlier when our first child went to college, it hit me. It was 20 years ago and now these 20 years later, our oldest grandson is launching from his home. So, I had an epiphany -  I needed to share what I wrote on the podcast. See, a lot of people wonder about launching their children – whether they should let them go to "secular"  universities and what God may have for them.  I took the time to answer the one who wrote to me, and in my response to her, I even said this, "I am taking some time to deal with the issues you raised – I do this not only for you, but also for other women who will face these decisions." I hope this week's podcast  is an encouragement to you. I plan to follow up, by God's grace, to further explore this topic. Let me hear from you! GraceAnna joined me on this week's podcast to talk about our upcoming September season of Woman's Life at Community Bible Church. Three of my girls - GraceAnna, Maureen, and Chesed - will be coming to Beaufort individually to teach the sessions from a study they co-authored on a woman's identity in Christ titled "Chosen in Love." I asked GraceAnna questions like "When did you first start thinking about writing the study? How did it come about? What was it like as you taught it with the girls at your church? How did you work it out with your sisters-in-law? How has God used it already in your own life and in your girls' lives?" Women of Conviction

Women of Conviction

2024-07-2856:06

This week on the podcast I exhort us to be women of conviction from God's Word. We must be women who devote ourselves fully to the Lord no matter what our age or season of life. We must not be women who are so pre-occupied with ourselves and things that don't matter that we miss the things that do. I pray this episode helps you see the difference. I share a lot from my heart ... This week on the podcast, I am joined by my daughter-in-law, Marilyn, who became a new mom in January. She and her husband, my son Jameson, welcomed baby Mary Frances!! I'm  so thankful she could join me  to discuss all things related to becoming a new mom. I asked her questions like, What surprised you? What's been the hardest adjustment? How did y'all decide on your baby name? What is the most helpful advice you've received? How has God changed you since the birth of your daughter?  And so much more! I hope you enjoy!! I love hearing from women and I so appreciate all the questions! One listener wrote and asked this: "What would you use or did you use to teach your children the Bible at home ... did you use a curriculum, did you just read the Bible to them?  What would you recommend?" I love this question so much and I hope my answer encourages you!! There is so much more I can and will say on this topic for a future podcast! I'll grab my girls and you can hear  them as well ... maybe even my grandgirls!!   Here are some of the resources I mentioned:   https://www.christianbook.com/gods-names-sally-michael/9781596382190/pd/382190 https://cefpress.com/Children-s-Ministry-Resource-Bible.html https://searchthescriptures.org/resources/messages-broadcasts/series/basic-discipleship/ https://www.notconsumed.com/My website may be of encouragement to you: http://audreybroggi.com Rare But Real T-shirts are available for purchase here:  https://usafulfillmentservices.com/rare-but-real/

Thank you for sharing your family with us. I've listened to the first two episodes. As a mom of 2 daughters (ages 14 and 10) and five sons (ages 17, 8, 7, 5, and 2), my heart's desire is for them to marriage strong Christians and all become friends with each other. I've struggled with my extended family these last two years especially as many have seen all things related to covid through such a different lens than I have. I know there will always be differences in families but my prayer is that my child would grow in the grace and knowledge of their Heavenly Father and one day have families of their own who honor Him. Your family gives me such inspiration.
