Dr. Edward Tingley discusses the development of the modern concept of "values" as the basis for modern ethics to the detriment of society and culture. In short, ethics do not mean values. Dr. Tingley calls for a reclamation of virtue and the traditional Christian ethical worldview.  This talk was delivered  as part of the Ross Willows Distinguished Lecturer series for the Manitoba Chapter of the Christian Medical & Dental Society in Winnipeg, Manitoba, March 24 2010. Edward Tingley holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa (1995) and a B.A. in Art History from Carleton University (1978). He has taught at Augustine College since 2005 and has served as Dean of the College since 2016, after a previous term as Dean from 2006 to 2011. The Truth in Science Part 2. Dr. John Patrick spoke at the 2017 Truth in Seattle Conference on the subject of Science and Culture in light of the Christian tradition and provided insight and advice on how Christians can better live out the Gospel mission. John  Patrick studied medicine at Kings College, London and St. George’s  Hospital, London in UK. John has held appointments in Britain, the West  Indies and Canada. John’s main academic interest in medicine is the  treatment of Protein Energy Malnutrition in various diseases and  accident trauma throughout the world. His research has been carried out  in UK, Jamaica, Canada and Africa. In the 1970s he worked at the  University of the West Indies, Jamaica and was involved in the  breakthrough of PEM treatment whilst in Jamaica. He came to Canada in  1980. At the University of Ottawa John was Associate Professor in  Clinical Nutrition in the Department of Biochemistry and Pediatrics for  20 years. He is concerned to understand the link between the treatment  of the severely malnourished, their beliefs, and their culture.
