We are experiencing challenges to life as we have known it. There are shifts occurring in many aspects of our lives, and the good news is that these changes are awakening something for all of us. We are discovering areas where we may have been asleep or blindly tolerant. Many are now beginning to identify situations in their lives where they can no longer accept those things that do not enliven. We need not get distracted by the distractions of system problems, but instead embrace the need freedom that is coming out of the insights being revealed about who we are becoming. Believe it or not, we are all healers. We can be healers who operate in a worldly sense, or spirit-lead healers. As spirit-lead healers, we must overcome the trappings of the world. In that sense, we must heal the wounds within us and between us. We must learn to be authentic. Any effective approach to healing must address the source. How often do we see the materially rich on TV, in movies, on the Internet? How often do we see situations where the “haves” look down upon the “have-nots?” There is an unfortunate quality in human nature that thirsts for someone to subordinate. It is easy to see and judge the materially poor. We can see poverty all around us. How easy is it for us to see the Spiritually poor?Consider that is a form of poverty that is often overlooked and disregarded. However, that spiritual poverty is killing the world. Who might want to emulate you? To take that to another level, who might want you emulate you two times over, or a double portion? The story in the Bible of Elijah and Elisha illustrates a wonderful example of what it looks like to be an icon for one to follow. As an apprentice of Elijah, Elisha wanted to take on the mantle of his mentor and be an even greater expression of service and devotion to God. Who in your world looks to you in that same fashion?
