In this episode Taylor dives deep into discussing strategies to manage intuitive eating around the holidays. The holidays can be stressful for many reasons, but food shouldn't be one of them! This should be a time of year to enjoy memories and time with friends and family, not be anxious about food.
If you've been wondering where the podcast has been or why my grocery hauls have seemed a little off brand, it's because I have been in the first trimester trenches, I can't believe I'm finally saying this out loud, but I'm pregnant! We dive into all the big questions: were we trying? Does the Oura ring actually work (lol), how we've been feeling, some of my weirdest cravings and aversions, and we end the episode with a few old wives tales leaving you guessing on the gender because we already know, hehe!
In this episode, I dive into my year long reflection of going to therapy on a weekly basis and how it's changed my life. After about a month in therapy I received an ADHD diagnosis after years of being misdiagnosed with anxiety. It's been so validating to understand how and why my brain works a certain way, how to regulate my emotions better, and how it's helped improve my relationships in so many ways. I will forever be thankful for starting therapy and hope this helps someone if they are scared to start but know they need too - it's okay to ask for help! <3

The goal of this episode is to give a variety of tips in each category - don't feel like you have start everything all at once, rather ask yourself the question: "what would the version of myself 6 months from now want me to do?" then break down those habits into small, bite-sized chunks.

A popular question: can you lose weight when pursuing intuitive eating? The answer: well the details are in the episode ;-) but the answer is yes you certainly can, but it's not the main goal of intuitive eating and never will be. You can gain, lose, or maintain. The goal of intuitive eating is finding where your body is naturally most 'metabolically fit' and 'healthy.'

In this episode, I dive into the origins of intuitive eating as well as the 10 principles that intuitive eating is founded on. Within these 10 principles, there's a variety of different ways to incorporate these thoughts and mindsets into your life. My favorite principle to talk about is #10, gentle nutrition and is basically the foundation of my social media, but the most important one to get you started is #1, rejecting the diet mentality. I hope you love this one!
Today's episode features my husband Zack talking about his type 1 diabetes diagnosis. Zack was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes almost a year ago now. For those that don't know, T1DM is an autoimmune condition where his pancreas stops producing insulin, meaning that he will be insulin dependent for the rest of his life. He either uses shots or a pump, luckily, his lifestyle didn't have to change too much because he has a dietitian as a wife. ;) But, thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy this one and learn a little something new!

This episode dives into all of the macronutrients, how our bodies utilize them, and how our bodies benefit them. One of the major points I try to drive home on my platforms is switching the mindset around food from "calories, making me smaller, it's the enemy" to "how does this food benefit my body in a positive way and how is my body using these foods?" I break down each of the three macronutrients and their benefits for the body.

Many followers know that I was diagnosed with ADHD in the later half of 2023 after dealing with years of what I thought was just anxiety. In this episode I dive into my personal mental health journey and what that's looked like for me, symptoms of ADHD that I have always had but had no idea they were tied to ADHD and my medication journey since being diagnosed. Always consult with a healthcare provider if you feel that you need more support with your mental health, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean you don't need or deserve help. Love you besties, thanks for listening to this more vulnerable episode.
Two of the primary things I talk about on my page are building balanced plates and power packed snacks, and of course, I give brief breakdowns in those videos of why and how that benefits our body in a positive way. But, I had never done a DEEP dive on the ways in which blood sugar balance and stress management are truly the root of a lot of metabolic conditions we see, sugar is not poison, and you can enjoy the foods you love. What makes me so sad about the nutrition industry is that all anyone has ever taught women is how to diet, but I'm here to change that by helping women learn how to eat and fuel confidently so that they can feel their best. Thanks for listening, xo, Taylor.

This has been a topic on my mind for awhile now, and I want to clarify that when I am referring to "coming off the medication" I am referring to this drug being used as a quick fix, weight loss solution. I understand that there are many people who benefit from the drug and could be on long-term. However, the way that the media/influencer etc. are advertising it, using words like "skinny shot" does not sit well with me. The current advertising is is sending a message that if you "just get a shot" you can magically lose weight and be thin, and it terrifies me for women and young girls. It's not about being "triggered" it's about recognizing that health doesn't equate to weight lose, health relates to habit change. Think about if you've ever successfully lost weight and kept it off, you probably: changed your nutrition habits, are moving more in ways you enjoy, maybe drinking more water, or sleeping better. It's not the weight loss giving you the benefits but the habits that led to it!

In this episode, I dive into a conversation with health coach, Cassidy Ceresa. She's had personal experiences in the world of diet culture and burn out and now spends her career helping women build tangible habits to get out of that mindset and evaluate what self-care looks like to them. She's a wonderful human being, so easy to talk to, and I hope you love this conversation as much as I did! Ever since my conversation with Cassidy I've been working on my own relationship with self-care and burnout and what that looks like for me.

I always like to preface conversations around cycle syncing that it is currently NOT evidence based, however, I believe there is a lot of power in understanding your cycle and how it may impact nutrition, fitness, sleep, etc. This is my personal journey of why I decided to come off birth control and cycle sync my workouts and how it's impacted me over the past 4 years. Always consult with your OBGYN and PCP prior to making these decisions, this is just a sharing of my personal journey. :)

I had a video go massively viral last week debunking some common nutrition myths. As a dietitian, I saw some common trends in the comments among assumptions made about dietitians that I felt it was really important to dive into: dietitian's aren't paid by big pharmacy but what do we learn in school to classify us as 'experts' in nutrition, preventative healthcare, and more on pRoCeSsEd foods.

The term "balancing your hormones" is thrown around all over the internet, but what does that actually mean? The reality is this is largely a marketing term that's targeted mostly at women to sell some sort of supplement, meal plan, or protocol. There are over 50 different hormones in the body that naturally and constantly fluctuate and is incredibly bio-individual. Especially for us as females. In this episode, we breakdown six of the major hormones that are impacted by nutrition and restrictive dieting and how you can better support your body and hormones to the best of your ability.
