In this powerful and heart-led episode, I’m joined by four incredible Thrivalist members for a rich and honest group conversation about their individual paths towards sobriety — and the vital role community has played along the way. Each woman brings her own unique story, yet together, their voices weave a shared experience — one of questioning the pressure to moderate, navigating motherhood without alcohol, finding confidence in sober social settings, and reconnecting with their sense of self. They speak with raw vulnerability about the fears they faced, the turning points they reached, and the profound relief of discovering they were never alone in how they felt. This conversation is a celebration of courage in all its forms — not the loud, dramatic kind, but the quiet, steady bravery of choosing a new path, one decision at a time. It’s about shedding shame.Finding your people. And realising that sometimes, healing begins simply by being seen.We are so grateful to these four beautiful women for sharing their truth — and reminding us that connection really can change everything.Visit our website: https://thrivalistsobriety.comFollow Thrivalist here on InstagramJoin the free Facebook Community here. In this courageous and soul-stirring episode, I sit down with our beautiful Thrivalist member Maddie for a conversation that will move you to tears and leave you in awe of her strength.Maddie’s journey hasn’t been easy. She’s experienced more pain than many do in a lifetime – and for years, she turned to alcohol as a way to cope. She speaks with raw vulnerability about her struggles with mental health, the hidden pain of self-harm, and how alcohol became a destructive cycle that left her feeling isolated and disconnected from herself. But Maddie is no longer hiding. She’s now doing the brave, messy, and powerful work of choosing sobriety – sometimes one day, sometimes one hour at a time. This conversation explores what it means to reclaim your life from rock bottom, to start showing up for yourself even when it feels impossibly hard, and to hold space for healing when the wounds run deep.Through her honesty and openness, Maddie reminds us that sobriety isn’t about perfection – it’s about courage, compassion, and the small, daily acts of choosing yourself. This is a story about survival. About tenderness. About learning to live again. We are so grateful to Maddie for sharing her heart with us. In this honest and thought-provoking episode, I sit down with beautiful Thrivalist member Liz — a mum of three and intuitive healer — as she shares her powerful reckoning with alcohol.Liz wasn’t drinking heavily. In fact, by society’s standards, a wine or two in the evening seemed completely acceptable. But deep down, she knew it wasn’t serving her. Even just one or two drinks began to dull her energy, disconnect her from her intuition, and leave her feeling out of alignment with the life she truly wanted. This conversation explores the often-ignored space between “not a problem” and “not right for me.” Liz speaks openly about the moment she reached out to Thrivalist, and how that act alone gave her the permission to challenge the idea that unless drinking becomes destructive, there’s no reason to question it.Her story is a powerful reminder that you don’t need to hit rock bottom to make a change. If something feels off — even if it’s just one or two drinks — that’s reason enough to take a closer look. Sometimes, the quiet discomfort is the clearest sign that something isn’t working. This is a story about honouring that inner knowing. About tuning in. About rewriting the rules in a way that feels good for you. We’re so grateful to Liz for sharing her truth with us.Where to find Thrivalist: Visit our website: https://thrivalistsobriety.comFollow Thrivalist here on InstagramJoin the free Facebook Community here. As the only parent her children had left, her own health and wellbeing became a non-negotiable. And in a world where alcohol is so often seen as the default in times of pain, Katrina found herself questioning the norm and reflecting deeply on how drinking made her feel. She shares how she came to realise that alcohol wasn’t supporting her grief or her healing—and made the empowered choice to explore another way.Katrina opens up about the tug of war between the societal norm of drinking and staying aligned to her values. She speaks with raw honesty about navigating that space—how choosing clarity over numbness has shifted her weekends, her presence, and her connection to what matters most. This conversation is a powerful reminder that sobriety doesn’t always come from hitting rock bottom—it can come from choosing to honour your heart, your health, your healing, and the people you love. This is a story of resilience. In this raw and reflective episode, I sit down with Robert Marino – founder of Rolling Hills Recovery Center and Novara Recovery Center – to talk about addiction, faith, and the road to long-term recovery.Robert takes us into the depths of his story, sharing what life looked like in active addiction — including periods of living on the streets, completely disconnected from the life he once knew. He speaks candidly about the pain, the rock bottom moments that brought him to his knees, and the role AA and a connection to God played in helping him begin again. He also shares how the vision for his treatment centres began to unfold — both built while still on his own path to wholeness. Rolling Hills and Novara are now home to a team rooted in lived experience — people who know firsthand what it means to feel broken and choose to rise. What makes Robert’s story so powerful is that his recovery didn’t just change his life — it became the catalyst for helping thousands of others reclaim theirs. His healing became something so much bigger than himself. This is a conversation about surrender, purpose, and the extraordinary things that can happen when you decide your story isn’t over yet.Visit our website: https://thrivalistsobriety.comFollow Thrivalist here on InstagramJoin the free Facebook Community here. In this powerful episode, I sit down with Rochelle Gregory – the fierce and inspiring force behind the world-renowned fashion brand Rocky Rafaela – for a raw and moving conversation about her journey through trauma, addiction, identity, and reclaiming her truth. From a young age, Rochelle was the girl they couldn’t put in a box – the one who didn’t fit the mould and left people unsure of what to do with her. And in a world that craves clear labels, not fitting into any box became its own kind of burden. What followed were years of pain, rebellion, addiction, rehabilitation, and the long road to recovery. We also explore the stigma that still exists in our society around addiction, rehabilitation, and even sexuality – and how breaking that silence and owning who she is today has become a central part of Rochelle’s mission. We talk about the strength it took to walk away from alcohol and drugs, and how creativity – alongside deep therapy – became her outlet, her healing, and her rebellion. What followed was a reclamation of power and the creation of a life and brand built entirely on her own terms. Through Rocky Rafaela, Rochelle has not only found her voice – she’s built a world-renowned fashion label that helps others feel seen, fierce, and free. This is a conversation about identity, self-expression, and finding your way home to yourself – even when the world never quite knew where you belonged.Visit our website: https://thrivalistsobriety.comFollow Thrivalist here on InstagramJoin the free Facebook Community here. In today's episode I had the honour of speaking with Davey Lloyd who many of you might recognize from Sam Frost season of The Bachelorette and his appearance on Bachelor in Paradise. Once widely known as the ultimate party boy, Davey’s life is currently undergoing a significant transformation. After battling cocaine and alcohol addiction for many years and almost losing his life in December 2023 he entered rehab and is now on a path of recovery. From the moment we introduced ourselves I was blown away by his vulnerability as a 34 year old male bravely overcoming addiction. His journey deeply resonated with me and I seriously could have chatted to Davey for hours. You will soon hear that his family means the world to him and that he struggles to accept the word proud when someone throws that his way. but Davey I am so proud of you and I know that once the listeners hear your story you will have that word thrown your way many more times. Davey serves as a reminder that the party boy persona is just a facade and what truly matters most are the layers underneath. I feel honored to have Davey as my first male guest on the podcast and I couldn't be happier to share his story with you. Trigger warning though…..this episode is not for the faint hearted or for young ears but one that you will most likely never forget.I hope you enjoy the episode With love and sobriety,Georgie I xVisit our website: https://thrivalistsobriety.comFollow Thrivalist here on InstagramJoin the free Facebook Community here. For this episode, we took a unique approach, delving into my personal journey amidst thought-provoking questions thrown at me in the kindness of ways by my marketing and social media manager, Bec. We embarked on an unexpected heart-to-heart, followed by a few tears as we peeled back the layers of my past experiences with alcohol. We shared tales of navigating the allure of alcohol from the confidence it seemed to promise in my teenage years to the empowerment I ultimately found in sobriety. We explored the evolution of our Aussie drinking culture, from the casual norms of adolescent binge drinking to Friday night knock-off drinks, to the mummy wine culture, corporate world and the heightened pressures of adulthood. We examined the social expectations we have been brought up to believe to be true around alcohol and how one morning, I decided to turn my back on those societal norms and rewrite my own story. In the midst of our conversation, we delved into the parallels between the restless nights after a few glasses of wine and the inner turmoil they reflected. We unpacked the myths surrounding alcohol, particularly its deceptive allure as a sleep aid and self-medication for anxiety. We also reflected on the fear of missing out (FOMO) that haunts the sober-curious, restless nights, and lingering anxiety post-night out, along with the subsequent daytime fatigue that follows. And, I recounted that pivotal morning that steered me toward a life of sobriety—not from a place of rock bottom but from a desire to regain my power and thrive. This episode extends beyond my own personal story; it's our hands, reaching out to those struggling and considering a similar path. Thrivalist offers a range of resources, coaching, courses, and community connections to support your journey, whether you're tentatively questioning your drinking habits or confidently striding towards a life of sobriety.
