Description
Our weekly program is dedicated to decoding the worldview assumptions held by those in positions of power and influence. John and his guests challenge those notions by getting past the rhetoric and really drilling down to the underlying issues.
John promotes the sharpening of perspective using history and logic as a guide. Each week we feature investigative news commentary, geopolitical and religious insights, competing worldview analysis, in-depth guest interviews, round-tables, and debates on hard-hitting, and often controversial topics, much of which you will not hear elsewhere.

Theories abound, both reasonable and far off in conspiracy land about any number of topics. But ultimately, what is the truth? In this week's boralogue, John recounts the purpose behind this program: to get to the truth. What is the truth in any situation? It doesn't matter where it comes from or how sane or crazy it sounds. If it's the truth and it's provable, then it is newsworthy and something worth talking about. If a drug can successfully help mitigate this virus, why then are so many people outraging against it? Dr. Brian Joondeph (www.retinacolorado.com), Retina Surgeon at Colorado Retina Associates joins us to answer that plus he examines off-label uses of medicines and covers the overreach by power-hungry politicians during this pandemic.Troy Loeffler, John's son, makes a brief appearance to explain how statistics are being used, misused, and misunderstood by experts and media pundits in covering this crisis.Never trust bloated bureaucracies, especially during an emergency. Seton Motley (www.lessgovernment.org), Founder and President of Less Government, sounds the alarm on the marriage of big government and big tech in tracking virus patients. His message: if you think it will stop there, you're crazy. An often overlooked story amidst the chaos of news today is that of the emerging 5G network. Author and Commentator Ben Weingarten (www.benweingarten.com) is back with us to discuss the strategic implications of losing the communications and information transfer battle with China where it concerns 5G technology. Finally, John and Producer Steve chat about the dysfunctional media and their coverage of the coronavirus pandemic, their strategy against the president, and some biased editing ahead of the November election. On this week's extra segment, we play a round table discussion from 2015 on globalism. The participants are Dr. Dennis Cuddy, Pat Wood, and Brannon Howse. The topic is covered from spiritual, technocratic, and historical standpoints. Fantastic exchange between John and these guests.04/18/2020 Two-Step GamePodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time) 1 - Boralogue - What is the Truth in Any Situation? Closing down churches in a time of pandemic: is it prudent or is it a violation of rights? In this week's boralogue, John gives his thoughts on the question, using Biblical references to prove his point. It's important to adhere to the Constitution when it comes to our rights, but do we have an obligation to temporarily suspend that for the betterment of society?Weighing in on the legal side of the question is Jenna Ellis (Twitter: @JennaEllisEsq), constitutional law attorney and legal advisor to the 2020 Trump campaign. She looks at whether state governments are making these declarations in a time of emergency by the least restrictive means. We turn to the nation of Israel and its now finally unified government. Joining us from Jerusalem is Jonathan Spyer (www.mideastcenter.org), Founder and Executive Director of the Middle East Center for Reporting and Analysis. He discusses how the Knesset works, the indictments against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and how the coronavirus is affecting the country.John then gives a succinct timeline of how the Trump administration has handled the coronavirus crisis versus what the liberal establishment was doing at the same time.We then return to the topic of temporary infringement of rights with John O'Connor (www.joclaw.com), Attorney and Owner of O'Connor & Associates who analyzes the historical precedents for suspending the Constitution in times of emergency and goes into the history of the media's lies over the past several years. On this week's extra segment, John returns to the program Stand Up For The Truth on Q90FM out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Host David Fiorazo interviews John on several different aspects of the Covid-19 virus.04/04/2020 Temporary InfringementPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Should Churches Meet During the Pandemic? Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils. In this week's boralogue, John looks at the devil's choice: stay isolated and probably kill the economy, or ramp up the economy and most likely extend the virus. There needs to be a threading of the needle and our leaders should put aside the urge to behave like bureaucrats and act prudently during this crisis. And it's up to us to pray for wisdom for those leaders. The plight of persecuted Christians very rarely gets air time in worldwide media, especially so now that we're dealing with Covid-19. Stephen Rasche (www.chaldeanchurcherbil.org), Vice Chancellor at the Catholic University in Erbil, Iraq, joins us to give a clear understanding of how Christians are faring in Iraq and the Middle East.John and Carol join forces to analyze today's new economic and political paradigm. Things are changing where it concerns politicos' behavior in government, the validity of buying gold and silver, and how headlines and perception fuel the market's engine more than profit statements. Inevitably, for good or bad, politics seeps into a crisis. Kelly Sadler (www.a1apac.org), Director of Policy and Communications for President Trump's re-election campaign, examines the relief bill, attacks on the President, and helping out businesses during this rough time.We close out the show this week with disaster and preparedness expert Dr. Paul Williams (www.whenallplansfail.com), who stresses the importance of being calm in an emergency, eating healthy to stave off sickness, and the power of prayer in every situation. On this week's extra segment, we play a triple feature of noted doctor and preparedness expert Paul Williams. From 2010 after flooding in Nashville, from 2012 following Hurricane Sandy, and from 2014 in the middle of the Ebola outbreak, Dr. Williams gives good advice on how to prepare for emergencies. This week's 'Short Show' is segments 1-303/28/2020 Devil's ChoicePodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Devil's Choice: Curbing the Virus vs Recharging the Economy (2:29)2 - Stephen Rasche - Status of Christians in Iraq (13:29)3 - Stephen Rasche - Future of Democracy in Iraq (26:24) John Loeffler - Clips from Past Gordon Chang Interviews on China's Economy (35:02)4 - John & Carol Loeffler - New Economic Paradigm (39:16)5 - Kelly Sadler - U.S. Politics & the Virus Crisis (52:10) John Loeffler - Investment Post-Crisis (1:02:09)6 - John Loeffler - Don't Panic (1:05:33) Dr. Paul Williams - Be Healthy, Pray, and Don't Fear (1:10:57)7 - Extras Segment - Three Past Interviews of Dr. Paul Williams on Emergency Preparedness (1:18:27) End of Show (1:51:00)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! Things are changing rapidly with the Covid-19 virus and things can seem a little chaotic. In this week's boralogue, John stays out of the weeds and looks at where things are heading. There are several different possibilities for the financial market following this black swan event. No matter the direction, though, the same tired responses that have failed in the past, will fail again.Following up on the boralogue, John welcomes to the show Retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Spalding (www.hudson.org), who highlights how China is using our capital markets to fund their own initiatives, many of which are not beneficial to the U.S. or to freedom in general. So what is the future of the economy? Author and longtime Money Manager Dan Perkins (www.danperkinsatsanibel.com) takes a close look at the reactions and panic surrounding this crisis and where he sees the markets and the global economy heading.John finishes up this week with an important look at the changing geopolitical chessboard, featuring Russia, China, the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.On this week's extra segment, we play a double feature of H1N1 coverage from a decade ago. First up is ENT Specialist Dr. Elaina George from November 2009, who discusses the lethality of that virus compared to others as well as the potential danger in vaccines. We follow that up with the late great Dr. Stan Monteith from April 2010, who also examines vaccines and goes into the hype surrounding the H1N1 pandemic. This week's 'Short Show' is segments 1-303/21/2020 Economic ProjectionPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Future of the Economy (1:52)2 - John Loeffler - Geo-Economic Facts About China (13:29) Retired General Robert Spalding - China Using Us to Finance Their Agenda (17:28)3 - John Loeffler - Dysfunctional Economic Games (26:24)4 - Dan Perkins - Reaction & Panic Around Virus (39:16)5 - Dan Perkins - Optimistic Market Future (52:10) 6 - John Loeffler - Changing Geopolitical Chessboard (1:05:33)7 - Extras Segment - Dr. Elaina George, 11/09 & Dr. Stand Monteith, 04/10 on H1N1 (1:18:27) End of Show (1:53:35)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! There is what's known as a black or white fallacy surrounding this coronavirus pandemic: it's either no big deal or it's the end of the world. As usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. In this week's extended boralogue, John covers the facts, not the fiction, behind the disease. He begins by accurately stating the medical truth of the virus and then pivots to the economic impact. He is then joined by his better half, Carol Loeffler, to further explore how the coronavirus is affecting various countries financially on the global geo-economic chessboard. They then examine the virus's influence on the oil markets. Will this black swan event push us into a recession or could it also push us into a long emergency? John welcomes back to the program futurist and author James Kunstler (www.kunstler.com), who discusses the future of oil and shale production in the U.S., where transportation is headed, and the danger when crises like this threaten what we perceive as normality. We finish off the show with Dr. Jenna Silakoski (www.northidahodpc.com), a physician in North Idaho, who gives a realistic on the ground view of the coronavirus and how she is handling it from a doctor's perspective. On this week's extra segment, we play John's latest guest appearance on local radio station KYMS with host Lee Lancaster. In addition to giving a martyred church update, John discusses with Lee the coronavirus (as well as an interesting way to keep from getting it) and defending your faith in times of trouble. 03/14/2020 The Long Emergency IIPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Coronavirus: Medical Facts (1:51)2 - John Loeffler - Coronavirus: Economic Impact (13:29) John & Carol Loeffler - Coronavirus: Global Economic Chessboard (22:27)3 - John & Carol Loeffler - Coronavirus: Political Aspects (26:24) John & Carol Loeffler - Coronavirus: Impact on Oil Markets (30:22)4 - James Kunstler - Future of Oil in the U.S. (39:46)5 - James Kunstler - When Crises Threaten Normality (52:40) 6 - James Kunstler - Future of Transportation (1:06:03) Dr. Jenna Silakoski - Coronavirus from a Doctor's Perspective (1:11:26)7 - Extras Segment - John's Appearance on KYMS (1:18:57) End of Show (1:51:38)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! The Overton Window is a perception at any given moment of what is acceptable in society. In this week's extended boralogue, John gives several examples of how the Overton Window has drifted leftward over the decades. It was originally moored in Judeo-Christian values but then broke free and caused a progressive change in society that has left us on a pitching deck of constantly changing, relativist, self-contradicting ideas.Conservative speech is being curtailed all over the world, but nowhere so egregiously than in Germany. Attorney Jared Peterson (amgreatness.com) joins us to discuss the tactics of the very leftist German media, plans to shut down dissenting speech, the thwarting of democracy in the German state of Thuringia, and pushback against the Left from some very unlikely sources.John takes a moment to examine the philosophies of government and economics in regards to the ultimate success or failure of a society. He then welcomes JR Dunn (www.americanthinker.com), Consulting Editor at American Thinker, who shines a light on the confusion, uproar, contradictions, and oftentimes lack of strategy from the Left.On this week's extra segment, we play a double feature from recent past on dysfunction and political correctness on college campuses, specifically with professors who don't tow the leftist line. First, we have Robert Lopez from January 2017 followed by Michael Rectenwald from August 2018. Both share their experiences with woke colleagues and administrators. This week's 'Short Show' is segments 1-403/07/2020 Window to the LeftPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - The Overton Window (2:04)2 - John Loeffler - Overton Window Continued (13:29) Jared Peterson - German Leftist Media and Government (19:39)3 - Jared Peterson - Thwarting of Democracy in Thuringia, Gremany (26:24)4 - Jared Peterson - Push-back on the Left in Germany (39:16)5 - John Loeffler - Philosophy of Government & Economics (52:11)6 - JR Dunn - Contradictions and Lack of Strategy on the Left (1:05:33) John Loeffler - Good Ways to Do Nothing (1:13:16)7 - Extras Segment - Robert Lopez, 2017 & Michael Rectenwald, 2018: College PC (1:18:27) End of Show (1:58:08)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! Businesses and especially college campuses have transitioned into centers of political correctness. On this week's boralogue, John looks at social justice warriors with their name it and shame it games, outrage campaigns, and even violent mobs. For far too long social justice warriors have been successful, but now many are catching on to these modern Brownshirt tactics and are pushing back. We must always choose freedom over those who would try to keep it from us. We've heard stories of students or adults having MAGA hats ripped off their heads by suddenly enraged progressives. Karen Hurvitz (www.educationwithoutindoctrination.org), Legal Counsel to the group Education Without Indoctrination, joins us to discuss how her client's life went from bad to worse after his MAGA hat was stolen by his teacher who then waged an all-out legal and outrage campaign against him. After analyzing the coronavirus's impact on the economy, John welcomes Anne Schlafly Cori (www.eagleforum.org), Chairman of the Eagle Forum, who explains why the Equal Rights Amendment, long thought extinct, has made a comeback recently and why, with its manipulative language, it's a bad idea.On this week's extra segment, we dip back a couple of years to February 2018 with John commenting on several audio clips concerning globalism and the long running agenda to obliterate sovereignty. 02/29/2020 Modern BrownshirtsPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Upholding Free Speech Against Those Who'd Take It Away (1:58)2 - John Loeffler - How to Battle Social Justice Warriors (13:29) Karen Hurvitz - Social Justice Warriorism on College Campuses (18:04)3 - Karen Hurvitz - Case of a College Student Persecuted by an SJW (26:24)4 - Karen Hurvitz - State of Freedom in Education Today (39:46)5 - John Loeffler - Various: Coronavirus, Medicare for All, Bernie on Israel (52:40) 6 - Anne Schlafly Cori - Equal Rights Amendment (1:05:33) John Loeffler - Rules of Dialectical Politics & Martyred Church Update (1:13:41)7 - Extras Segment - Clips from February 2018 on Globalism and Anti-Sovereignty (1:18:27) End of Show (1:56:57)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! Why did our freedom revolution in the U.S. and by extension the UK, work but the revolution in France fail? In this week's boralogue, John looks at the tale of two revolutions and how ours has worked and why it still succeeds. Some of the things that caused the other revolution to ultimately fail, however, are starting to crop up here and threaten the continued success of our great experiment. It is up to us to keep that from happening.Did the coronavirus originate with tainted food or is there a more sinister backstory? Joining us is Brandon Weichert (www.weichertreport.com), Manager of the Weichert Report, who points out that there is a military-run virology lab in Wuhan, China that may or may not be a bio-weapons lab. He covers China's tactics with intellectual property theft and coveting of scientists from around the world, both of which could have led to this coronavirus crisis. How has the coronavirus affected the stock markets, both here and around the world? Dr. Michael Busler (www.stockton.edu), Professor of Finance at Stockton University, joins us to discuss the psychology of markets and his views on how much of an impact the virus will make on global economics. As a federal bureaucrat, do you have loyalty to your agency and your director, or do you have loyalty to the Constitution? We welcome to the program retired FBI Special Agent David Baldovin (www.theunitedwest.org), who examines the need for reform in government agencies and the inevitable circling of the wagons when one of their own is on the hook for corruption. Fighting the good fight shows who and what you are loyal to.On this week's extra segment, we play an interview from June 2002 with the now late Christopher Story about Germany's attempt to dominate the EU and competition with Russia to build a new soviet reaching from the Atlantic to the Pacific.02/22/2020 Behind the Power CurvePodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Tale of Two Revolutions (2:12)2 - Brandon Weichert - China's Bio-weapon Threat (13:29)3 - Brandon Weichert - China's Tactics to Stay a Superpower (26:23)4 - Dr. Michael Busler - How the Coronavirus is Affecting the Markets (39:46) John Loeffler - Cardinal Zen, Bishop Emeritus of Hong Kong, on Vatican & China (47:38)5 - David Baldovin - Circling the Wagons in the FBI (52:40)6 - David Baldovin - Fighting to Reform the System (1:06:03) John Loeffler - Reform in Education (1:15:47)7 - Extras Segment - Christopher Story, June 2002, on Germany vs Russia in the EU (1:18:57) End of Show (2:05:23)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! The Deal of the Century – the new Israeli-Palestinian peace plan – has been proposed, but what is the hang up? In this week's boralogue, John looks at the need for a viable peace partner. He shows how both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas have not exhibited a willingness over the years to work toward peace with Israel. Whether or not they cooperate, the peace train may soon leave the station. And Palestinian leadership may wish they would have boarded.Socialism has never been successfully implemented simply because it can't be. Author and political forecaster Gerard Lameiro (www.greatnewsforamerica.com) is back with us to discuss several examples of failed socialist governments and how it only stays afloat when capitalism supports it behind the scenes. He also gives his predictions for the 2020 election and the future of the Democrat Party.Socialism isn't the only example of government interference and dysfunction. Howard Husock (www.civilsocietyawards.com), Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, describes how federal dollars from our government have changed the character of local civil organizations away from grassroots values and serving the community.Separation of church and state has been overused in legal arguments and somewhat misunderstood overall. We round out the show this week with Andrea Picciotti-Bayer (www.thecatholicassociation.org), Legal Advisor for the Catholic Association, who examines the Blaine Amendment in relation to public funding for Catholic schools.John's quote of the week:"What happens with socialism is you have big amounts of money, bureaucrats see it, they use giving to XYZ impoverished group as the rationale for taking it. They then seize the money, usually through taxation or other means. They take a huge chunk for themselves. Then they pass along a fraction of what they've seized and give it to the target group. That's the immorality of the system."On this week's extra segment, we play a double feature on the European Union from days of Steel past. First up is Robert Congdon from February 2012 followed by Pat Caddell from June 2018. Both give predictions about the future of the EU and it's interesting to see the difference in opinions that six years makes.02/15/2020 Ship of Fools in Socialist WatersPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Deal of the Century & the Need for a Peace Partner (2:19)2 - John Loeffler - Reality Behind Bernie Sanders Socialist Plans (13:29) Gerard Lameiro - Socialism is a Disaster Wherever It's Implemented (18:50)3 - Gerard Lameiro - Socialism Lasts as Long as Capitalism Supports It (26:23)4 - Gerard Lameiro - Predictions for 2020 Elections & Future of Democrat Party (39:46) John Loeffler - Canadian Healthcare System (48:02)5 - Howard Husock - Federal Encroachment on Civil Organizations (52:40) John Loeffler - Free Speech Violations in Europe & Asset Forfeiture Here (1:03:31)6 - Andrea Picciotti-Bayer - Public Funding of Catholic Schools (1:06:03)7 - Extras Segment - Robert Congdon, 02/2012 & Pat Caddell, 06/2018 on the EU (1:18:57) End of Show (2:00:04)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! One thing we're good at here at Steel on Steel is accurately relating how we got to where we are today and making sense of the confusion. In this week's extended boralogue, John does just that by first giving a backgrounder on how America's thinking and worldview has evolved over the last century. He then explains how a worldview has to be based on truth and reality, not on personal feelings because eventually that worldview will be challenged and when it is, you'll need the right weapons to defend it. He finishes up praising alternative news sources, like talk radio, that helped people realize there were others out there who thought as they did.Antisemitism is growing, not just in the Middle East, but also in Europe and the United States. Olivier Melnick (www.newantisemitism.com), Director at Chosen People Ministries, dissects the different versions of antisemitism and urges Christians to speak out against it or they could be next.Sharia law is obviously not compatible with the democracy and freedom in the West. We welcome back to the program Vishal Mangalwadi (www.revelationmovement.com), Founder and President of Book of the Revelation Movement, who is joined by Christian missionary David McDonald. Together they discuss why some Muslims have trouble adapting to Western society, which includes a large amount of misinformation within Islam. On this week's extra segment, we bring back a favorite that has been on hiatus - namely John's appearance on local radio station KYMS. John and the host, Lee, in addition to covering the martyred church, discuss a number of topics including the Coronavirus, media narratives, intersectionality, and the inability of progressives to debate.02/08/2020 Rejection of RealityPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - How Thinking Got to Where it is Today (2:12)2 - Boralogue - Conservative Radio and Worldviews (13:29)3 - Olivier Melnick - Antisemitism and Christianity (26:24)4 - Vishal Mangalwadi & David McDonald - Background on Islam & Adapting (39:46)5 - Vishal Mangalwadi & David McDonald - Can Islam Adapt to the West? It has been a very busy news week, so John will tackle two stories in this week’s boralogue. First up is the Coronavirus, which originated in the central China city of Wuhan. John looks at the facts and how it’s possible that this could be a virus weaponization situation that got out of control. He then pivots to the new peace plan, recounting a few details and whether or not the Palestinians will eventually come to the table.Joshua PhilippHow does socialism, which fails every time it is implemented, become so popular with media and with students in the West? Answer: lack of education about it. Joshua Philipp (www.theepochtimes.com), Senior Editor at The Epoch Times newspaper, joins us to give a history of Marxism and what it does to a society and how communism tries to supplant religion by becoming its own so-called morality system.John takes a moment, as Brexit has finally come, to give a backgrounder on the European Union. He plays Nigel Farage’s farewell speech at the EU Parliament this week, highlighting the group’s lust for power, their ability to thwart the will of the people by ignoring referenda, and the rise of pro-sovereignty and populist movements in the West.Climate Change: A Convenient TruthFinally, we welcome author and retired businessman Jim Hollingsworth (www.co2coalition.org) who discusses his new climate manual that clearly explains several issues surrounding the climate change controversy. Get the manual in kindle or paperback on Amazon here.John’s quote of the week:“If religion, meaning the religion of the people, does not act as the value system of government, then the government will create its own value system and force it down on the people. That’s what you’re seeing in China today and we’re teeter-tottering with it here in this country.”On this week’s extra segment, we dive into the topic of socialism with two boralogues from years past. First up is an extended boralogue from June 2008 where John outlines the three steps of socialism. That is followed up by a boralogue from September 2009 covering how socialism has affected our education and permeates both sides of the aisle in politics. 02/01/2020 End of an Interregnum?Podcast Episode Chapters – (Segment start time)1 – Boralogue – Coronavirus Facts (2:26) Boralogue – New Middle East Peace Plan (6:00)2 – John Loeffler – Theological Tide of Islam (13:29) Joshua Philipp – Truth About Marxism (16:39)3 – Joshua Philipp – Roots of the Different Types of Communism (26:23)4 – Joshua Philipp – Communism as a Replacement for Religion (38:56) John Loeffler – The Many Phases of Cultural Marxism (47:09)5 – John Loeffler – Nigel Farage’s Farewell EU Speech/Pro-Sovereignty (51:50)6 – Jim Hollingsworth – Climate Change Modeling (1:05:13) John Loeffler – Persecution Update (1:12:30)7 – Extras Segment – Boralogues from 6/2008 & 9/2009 on Socialism (1:18:07) End of Show (1:52:30)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! In literature, narratives are often fiction. In both the mainstream media and politics, narratives exhibit the same fictitious nature. In this week's boralogue, John gives several examples of how the media and politicos have failed to tell the truth lately, including with the gun rights rally in Virginia, with anthropogenic global warming, and with Attorney General William Barr. It turns out you can make this stuff up – and it shows us their true intentions. Iran is a hot topic in the news but one aspect not covered by the media is how women have been treated there. Manda Zand Ervin (www.allianceofiranianwomen.org), Founder and President of the Alliance of Iranian Women, joins us to recount how Iranian women, who were being oppressed by the mullahs, established a secret underground network in order to survive. Much of this information can be found in her new book, The Ladies' Secret Society of Iran. It's time for a Middle East geopolitical update so we welcome an expert on the subject, Seth Frantzman (www.sethfrantzman.com), Middle East Affairs Analyst at the Jerusalem Post. He examines a deal between Turkey and Russia to partition Libya, an oil pipeline from the region to Eastern Europe, and the interactions between Turkey, Syria, and the Kurds.John and Producer Steve spend a few moments dissecting an opinion piece from the Harvard Law Review that advocates for end-running the Constitution in an attempt to add amendments that would not only give permanent legislative power to liberals but would also ultimately endanger the Republic itself.John finishes out the show this week with a news story roundup, relating stories from around the world. Included are the impending Brexit, a disastrous new economic plan in Spain, trouble in China regarding the Catholic Church, and several examples of Christian persecution. On this week's extra segment, it's a quadruple feature as we play four interviews from 2014, 2015, and 2016 with Iraqi Christian Relief Council President Juliana Taimoorazy. She recounts the problems and tragedies involving Christians in Iraq from ISIS's persecution to their troubles with the UN regarding refugee status. With Iraq in the news lately, it's important to remember those who are suffering for their faith there (and around the world). 01/25/2020 Realpolitik: Middle East EditionPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Media Bias (2:12)2 - Manda Zand Ervin - History of Women in Iran (13:29)3 - Manda Zand Ervin - Current Climate of Iran (26:24)4 - John Loeffler - Iran's Treatment of Homosexuals (39:16) Seth Frantzman - Middle East Geopolitics: Turkey, Israel, Libya, Russia (40:33)5 - John & Producer Steve - End-Running the Constitution (52:10)6 - John Loeffler - Several News Stories from Around the World (1:05:33)7 - Extras Segment - Four Interviews from Juliana Taimoorazy: 2014-2016 (1:18:27) End of Show (1:48:57)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! In this week's boralogue, John diverts off-script and shares his personal history. He covers his childhood, his heritage, and his experiences among many cultures throughout his life. Here in America, we are a diverse society and that is a good thing. We have to work together, remember who we are, and focus on that rather than on the division in which we find ourselves today.American history in academic textbooks has shifted from fact-based events to ideology-driven narratives. Mary Grabar (www.dissidentprof.com), Fellow at the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization, discusses how Howard Zinn spearheaded the project to change history textbooks. His primer shows how America is a horrible, awful country whose only solution is to adopt socialism. That is being taught to our children right now.Canada has slid a little further down the progressive lawfare cliff than the United States. John Sikkema (www.arpacanada.ca), Legal Counsel for the Association for Reformed Political Action in Ottawa describes how, thanks to politically correct ideology, legal terms like harassment and 'hate crimes' are being redefined in Canada. Formerly law-abiding citizens who happen to disagree with the preferred narrative are now becoming criminals. After the U.S. embassy attack in Baghdad a few weeks ago, questions have arisen as to what exactly is going on in Iraq. Ofra Bengio (www.dayan.org), Senior Fellow at the Moshe Dayan Center joins us from Tel Aviv to discuss the geopolitics of Iraq, including the status with Kurdistan, the struggle to establish a unified government, and interference from Iran.On this week's extra segment, we crank up the Wayback machine, going back 18 years to March 2002 with Dr. Dennis Cuddy and Charlotte Iserbyt, discussing the problems with No Child Left Behind, including most ironically how most children were in fact left behind.01/18/2020 Zinn of OmissionPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - John's Personal History (2:24)2 - Mary Grabar - Zinn Education Project (13:29)3 - Mary Grabar - Zinn Related to the 1619 Project (26:24) John Loeffler - Change Agentry (34:46)4 - John Sikkema - Progressive Legal Cases in Canada (39:46)5 - John Loeffler - Educating America About Impeachment (52:40) Ofra Bengio - Iraq Update: Focus on Kurdistan (55:58)6 - Ofra Bengio - Iraq Update: Geopolitics with Iran (1:05:03) John Loeffler - History Lesson: Col. In any situation, including the recent Iraqi embassy attack and subsequent deadly drone strike, you have to ask yourself what is true and what is going on. In this week's boralogue, John busts through some narratives and gives a backgrounder on the Middle East and the groups that have arisen from there. It sets the table for our next guest and gives you a clear and realistic picture of how we got to what happened last week. Now that we know how we got here, we can look at the now former leader of Iran's Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, who was taken out with a drone strike last week. Back with us is Kenneth Timmerman (www.iran.org), President and CEO of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran, who describes the truth of who Soleimani was, what he was involved in, and where Iran goes from here. What happens when a radical progressive idea, seemingly outlandish, begins to gain traction in serious circles? Christopher Rufo (www.city-journal.org), Contributing Editor at City Journal, joins us to examine the Abolish the Police movement, showing that if it were ever to come to pass, crime and inequality would only deepen.Education is the key to why we are so divided in America, but it is also being used to radically reform the country. Robert Steven Ingebo, Akron, Ohio-based businessman, joins us to look at Deep Equity, a progressive-based reform program that relies heavily on buzzwords like intersectionality, diversity, and changing of norms. It's the newest version of a formalized teaching system designed to transform our society. On this week's extra segment, we play a double feature. You might recognize our first interview (as we played it for you here last summer), but it's still pertinent and deserves an encore presentation. James Hutchens from June 2012 is up first followed by Reza Kahlili from January 2015, both covering Iran.1/11/2020 What's True, What's Going On, What WorksPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Backgrounder and Current Reality of the Middle East (2:09)2 - Ken Timmerman - Who is Qassem Soleimani? It's a new year so it's time to reiterate what it is we actually do here at Steel on Steel. In the first boralogue of 2020, John reminds us that we take the 30,000-foot view of news and worldviews and analyze why people behave the way they do. Understanding human nature and the psychology of crowds, among other factors, will help to predict where we're heading as a society. You can count on John to do that as we careen through a new year of chaos.Impeachment mania has taken over Washington DC but many people still aren’t familiar with the mechanics and history of impeachment. Timothy Snowball (www.pacificlegal.org), Attorney with Pacific Legal Foundation, is back with us to examine the difference between impeachment and removal, how the process works, and whether or not it's worth it politically. How is it that someone can put such thought into studying things and get it so wrong all the time while others can think and debate and get it right? John takes a few moments to explain the deep and reliable foundations of a realistic and factual worldview base, using examples from today's news cycle to illustrate his point. The country is divided and there is angst everywhere, perpetuated largely by the media on both ideological sides. Theologian and business expert Dr. Bruce Hartman (www.brucelhartman.com) joins us to show how we can only control what is within our ability to control and how faith in God can mitigate the fear and angst we feel every day. John's quote of the week:"So much ideology of today is faulty – it tries to violate the norms of human nature. They say, 'If we can just legislate it and force it and shame it, we'll all make it come about.' But reality always becomes real and human nature does not change."The Extras Segment is back and we are playing an interview with Dr. Dennis Cuddy from December 2015 where he gives examples of possible future terrorist attacks in America, and shows us how ill-prepared we are to deal with them. The reason for this lack of prediction is due in large part to the globalists' plan to dumb down education.01/04/2020 Crisis ManagementPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Boralogue - Why Steel on Steel Does What It Does (2:21)2 - Timothy Snowball - History & Mechanics of Impeachment (13:29)3 - Timothy Snowball - Whether Impeachment is Worth It (26:23) John Loeffler - Signposts on the Way Forward (33:59)4 - John Loeffler - Foundation of Worldview Thinking (39:46)5 - Bruce Hartman - Controlling What You Can Control (52:40) 6 - John Loeffler - No Time for Verbal Regurgitation (1:05:33) Bruce Hartman - Trust in God Calms Fear & Angst (1:12:17)7 - Extras Segment - Dennis Cuddy, 12/2015, Future Attacks/Lack of Education (1:18:27) End of Show (1:58:48)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! Happy New Year, everyone! We will forego the boralogue this week and jump right in with Christine Douglass-Williams (www.frontpagemag.com), Associate Editor at FrontPage Magazine, who describes her trip to the International Conference on Christian Persecution in Budapest, Hungary last month. She looks at Hungary's efforts to establish itself as a Christian nation and examines the truth, not the PC narrative, surrounding Islam and the persecution of not only Christians, but also reformer Muslims.Anti-semitism exists in various subsets of society, including among famous people in the media. Dexter Van Zile (www.camera.org), Christian Media Analyst at CAMERA, reveals how one famous radio host has seemingly come out against Jewish concerns. He also discusses the various sources for anti-semitism, both on the right and the left.We finish out the program this week playing a sermon given by Rabbi Burt Yellin of the Messianic Jewish church Roeh Israel (www.roehisrael.org) in Denver, Colorado earlier this month. He gives examples of leaders who have done great things but were also absolute scoundrels. He also shows the importance of answering God's call in your life. The Extras Segment is taking a two-week hiatus due to the holidays but it will return with perfect 2020 vision in the New Year!12/28/2019 Semper Veritas: Always the TruthPodcast Episode Chapters - (Segment start time)1 - Christine Douglass-Williams - Islam and Christian Persecution (1:39)2 - Christine Douglass-Williams - Persecution of Reformer Muslims (13:29) Christine Douglass-Williams - Hungary as a Christian Nation (18:44)3 - Dexter Van Zile - Anti-Semitism with a Popular Radio Host (26:23)4 - Dexter Van Zile - Different Sources of Anti-Semitism (39:46) John Loeffler - Persecution and Immigration (44:06)5 - Burt Yellin - Great Leaders Can Also Be Scoundrels (52:40)6 - Burt Yellin - Answering God's Call in Your Life (1:06:03)7 - Extras Segment - On Break for New Year's End of Show (1:19:25)Subscribe to the full-length, Ad-free Premium podcast at http://www.steelonsteel.com/subscribe Get more with your Premium membership and access over a thousand episodes spanning two decades! Merry Christmas everyone! We have a unique show for you this week. In the boralogue, John sets the table for the rest of the program, giving an overview as to how we got to where we are with education. In 1989, Dr. Shirley McCune signaled a sea change for totally transforming education. Today we are seeing the results of that change. In 1994, John produced a program on KWGN in Denver that featured a round table of guests discussing the truth about outcome-based education. What was said then, we are seeing today, so we will play a lot from that program on this week's show. John moderated and the featured guests were Charlotte Iserbyt, Dwight Williams, Berit Kjos, and Gen Yvette Sutton.Topics discussed include the processes put into place allowing outcome-based education to begin, the work of change agents to convince the public that this radical transformation was a good idea, and getting children to transition from logical reasoning to emotional reasoning. The guests go on to examine how teachers and administrators changed the way students thought and how they approached problem-solving, and how standardized tests have changed over the years to reflect this radical transformation of America's education system.John's quote of the week:"If you took standardized testing from 1960 and asked a student today to pass that test, they wouldn't be able to do it. And the student from 1960 couldn't pass today's test because they couldn't think in politically correct terms. It's difficult to compare apples to oranges to see how far we have fallen."The Extras Segment is taking a two-week hiatus due to the holidays but it will return with perfect 2020 vision in the New Year!Show Title: Visions of Educrats Dance in Their Heads 1 - Boralogue - How Did We Get Here with Education? Topics on the pastors roundtable with Mike LeMay, Steven Grant, and Brandon Holthaus: preparing the church for the worldview battle to come, unbiblical messages infiltrating the church as a whole as well as the pulpit specifically, and the need for a group of pastors to pray and encourage one another in these times of trouble in the Church. Andrew Langer discusses the impossibility of price controls and free stuff for everyone.
