Several years ago, we participated in a stake youth trek at Martin’s Cove in Wyoming and wrote this song as a tribute to our pioneer forebears who sacrificed so much to establish the church. The lessons of perseverance, faith and enduring to the end that sustained the early pioneers are the same lessons that will carry us through the challenging times ahead. The prophet Alma, teaching at the Waters of Mormon, delivered a compelling 'baptismal challenge' to those gathered to listen, suggesting that to become a disciple of Christ was to be 'willing to bear one another's burdens...to mourn with those that mourn...and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things.' This simple song became part of Kevin and Cindy's ministry at Primary Children's Hospital, serving to lift the spirits and souls of many of the young patients receiving care, as a gentle reminder that Heavenly Father is aware of their every thought, feeling and trial.
