Founded by the Division of Endocrinology at the University of British Columbia, T1D Huddle strives to enhance the emotional health and day-to-day lives of people with T1D. Through our monthly group sessions, we hope to create an emotional home for the T1D community.

T1D is a lifetime commitment that requires more attention than we really want to give it.  But what if your diabetes experience could be used as motivation to notice the effects that your thought choices can have on your emotions, your blood glucose, and even your relationships? Learning to purposely “think about your thinking” will enable you to kick-start your life into new positives and higher perspectives. In our next Huddle, you will be introduced to thought strategies that will help you to be more solution oriented rather than problem focused in your T1D management. Does it control you, or do you control it? Julie, who is a fellow T1D Huddler with experience teaching meditation classes, will provide an introduction to this topic, answer your questions, and guide us through a thought relaxation and receptivity exercise.
