Are you making the most of Dexcom data? Your Dexcom clarity account collects large amounts of data about your blood sugar and can be used by you and your health care team to develop strategies to manage your diabetes. You can gain your health care providers' thoughts and decide how to adjust your treatment. Follow along with Phil Powell, a registered nurse and fellow Huddler, and Alanna Chambers, a registered dietician with T1D, as they go through how to use your clarity reports to better understand how your diabetes is doing and to take your management to the next level! Ep 29: Flowing with T1D: Yoga and Mindfulness

Get ready to flow, stretch and tune inward. No previous yoga experience required. What you'll need: A quiet space in your home, yoga/fitness mat, comfortable clothing, glass of water, your body and your breath. Chelsey Allen, a fellow Huddler, will start the session by leading a 15-20 minute Yoga session - followed by an introduction to mindfulness and a few mindfulness activities. She will then lead our Q&A to answer any questions you have about this topic.

EP 28: Disordered eating and eating disorders in T1D community

This session will be led by Dr. Suja Srikameswaran, a registered clinical psychologist, past Professional Practice Leader, Psychology, at Providence Health Care, and former Outpatient Psychologist at the Provincial Adult Tertiary and Specialized Eating Disorders Program (PATSED) at St. Paul’s Hospital. Dr. Srikameswaran will talk about disordered eating and eating disorders and their presentation and impact on those in the T1D community, how to seek professional support and navigate the health care system, and effective therapeutic approaches.  We will also be joined by fellow Huddlers Maureen Duncan, who will share their personal experiences with disordered eating and its treatment. We already have a number of great questions submitted on various types of eating disorders, and how to notice and break bad eating habits.

Ep 27: T1D Burnout and Resilience

This is a very different kind of Huddle where Sheryl Straza and Tammy Nabata encourage people to share stories from “hitting a wall” and having only enough energy to get by, to surmounting even the most challenging life circumstances. This Huddle includes discussions around how stress impacts blood glucose levels, coping with diabetes distress and burnout, and strategies for overcoming hardships related to diabetes management and navigating the medical care system.
