We have Dodgers Nations very own Doug McKain on the podcast today! Doug is a lifelong Dodger fan and has done an incredible job covering the Dodgers for years. We couldn't be more excited to talk Dodgers with him.Not only does Doug tell us all his thoughts on the Dodgers season so far, but he shares amazing behind the scenes stories, his interactions and conversations with the players including Tanner Scott, Austin Barnes, Clayton Kershaw and which player got extremely heated with him in the clubhouse. We got deep into stats with Doug including Mookie's incredible turnaround, how he believes this team will find their spark and his nightmare World Series situation which scared us so much that we had to tell him to stop!We loved getting to know Doug more in this episode. He shared how he got into the Dodgers and why he loves baseball. He filled us in on what a day in his life looks like, and what it's been like covering the Dodgers for so many years - and some of the pushback he's received.Doug is giving us all the inside scoop in this episode so you'll just have to listen to find out!!
We couldn't be more excited to have Dodgers Game 3 hero & World Series champion, Will Klein join us today! We talked to Will all about the World Series and Game 3 of course, but we learned where his baseball journey began and how he landed with the Dodgers after being DFA'd from the Oakland A's and traded from the Mariners. We asked Will all about joining the Dodgers, being teammates with Clayton Kershaw and all of the other star-studded talent, his favorite moments and so much more. We even got a surprise cameo from his lovely wife, Carson! This was so much fun, we hope you enjoy our conversation with Will!
We were so excited to get back to our microphones because all we want to do is talk about the Dodgers! And winning the World Series! And the World Series Celebration! We had to share all of our thoughts on being at Dodger Stadium on parade day to celebrate with not only Dodger fans, but with our team! We narrowed in on some of our favorite plays that led to this World Series win. It's crazy to think that if any of these plays went the wrong way, it would not be us celebrating right now. From Kike's incredible baseball instincts, to Dave Roberts masterclass coaching job, to Yamamoto's history making performance, to Shohei being on base 9 times in Game 3, we had to get into it all, so please enjoy re-living it with us!
We could not be more excited to sit down and talk about our Dodgers being back to back World Series Champs! What a game 7 and what a series! From Yoshinobu Yamamoto's well deserved MVP award, to Miggy Ro's performance, to Will Smith's game winning home-run, to a perfect ending for our future Hall of famer Clayton Kershaw. We take you into all of our thoughts surrounding this series, this season, and what it was like for us through it all. We are so happy for our amazing team and are even more excited to celebrate with all of you Dodger fans for parade day! We did it! 2025 World Series Champs! And 2/2 with this podcast!
Okay we're back to recap games 3 and 4, one we will relive for the rest of our lives and one we are okay with forgetting about. We were so lucky to be at Game 3, one of if not the best (and longest) baseball game we've ever been to and we tell you all about our experience - and the lucky listener who sent Melissa to her first World Series game! We share all our thoughts on how we felt inning after inning until - who else - Freddie with the walk off home run!Anytime Shohei is on the mound is exciting but our team fell flat for Game 4. We are ready for our boys to pick up those bats and hit and anticipate that going into Game 5. So let's go boys! We need this win going back to Toronto where we have to get the job done! Go Dodgers!
It's the World Series! Our team is coming back to LA with an even score after our boys took Game 2 in Toronto. From Snell's Game 1 performance, to the offensive outburst from the Blue Jays, to the second complete game from Yoshi and his masterful performance, to Will Smith's momentum changing home run, we have so much to talk about. Not only have we been cheering on our team, but your girls have been busy! We hosted a Dodgers pep rally in Santa Monica with former dodger legends Steve Garvey, Eric Karros and Adrian Gonzalez. We hosted World Series watch parties. Oh, and we woke up at 3am to go on a Toronto morning show! We get into all of it and couldn't have been more excited to fill you in on everything. Now we're back in LA hoping for 3 more wins. Let's go Dodgers!
Our Dodgers are going back to the World Series!!! We couldn't wait to get on the mics today because there is so much to celebrate. We just watched our team sweep the Brewers to win the NL pennant, Shohei Ohtani had the greatest performance of all time, and we hosted our first watch party to see it all! We get into all of it - and share our thoughts on Shohei's NLCS MVP winning performance, all the talk about the Dodgers ruining baseball, Melissa's public manifestation during an interview at Dodger Stadium, and so much more. What a time to be a Dodger fan. Enjoy!
We are at our new postseason setup recording from Santa Monica, and couldn't be more excited to talk Dodger baseball! Our team took the first two games in Milwaukie and we couldn't be happier to be coming back to Dodger Stadium with 2 wins. Feels familiar?!Our starting pitching is almost leaving us speechless... but of course we could not stop raving about how great our guys have been. Snell's dominant outing, Yamamoto's complete game, Teo heating up, Muncy hitting the ball out of the park, wow! Our team is playing their best baseball right now and we are absolutely loving it!And Dodger fans, we are hosting a watch party this Friday for Game 4 at 33 taps downtown. We can't wait to cheer on our team together!Game 3 here we come, let's go dodgers!
The Dodgers are advancing to the NLDS! Goodbye to the Reds and hello to the Phillies! FYI, this episode was recorded on Wednesday before Game 2 so the girls are recapping everything that happened during Game 1. Before they do, the girls reminisce on meeting each other as they are coming up on their one-year anniversary. Melissa shares a story about a medium reading she had last week. Jaclyn reflects on Dodger teams from the past and why this team has the fire.Dodger Stadium was rocking from Shohei starting the series off with a home run, Snell's dominant performance and Teo's bat heating up, they had so much to talk about. And yes, the bullpen. Frustrations are at an all time high and we get into it all.
Dodger fans, we have Kirsten Watson on the podcast today! Kirsten is a 2x Columbia graduate and a former D1 volleyball player. She works with the NFL, the Rams, and you know her as the Dodgers host and sideline reporter.Kirsten started working for the Dodgers in 2020 and had quite an intro into baseball and the Dodgers coming in during Covid protocols. She shared how she overcame those early struggles, all about growing up as an athlete, her journey of pursuing a career in broadcasting and how she landed the job with the Dodgers.Of course we had to get her viewpoint on Clayton Kershaw's retirement announcement. She also shared insights on our players and the clubhouse, which teammates you never see without the other, how she feels about the postseason and how she takes care of herself and sets herself up for success during the grueling baseball season. We loved getting to know Kirsten more, and we know you will, too.
We have the President of the Dodgers, Stan Kasten on the podcast today! Stan was so gracious to answer all of our questions, you can really feel how much he cares about the Dodgers and giving back to the fans.First, we record an intro after interviewing Stan and discuss how we think it went. Our team is playing well, and we were happy to get into this week of Dodger baseball. Of course, we shared our players of the week.We asked Stan about where his love of sports started, what it was like becoming the GM of a team at 27, running multiple teams at the same time and what got him to LA.Stan talked about the culture of the Dodgers and how important it is to him to meet fans around the stadium. We asked him what it's like to watch Shohei embrace being a Dodger, Clayton Kershaw's legacy, and so much more. We hear the organization say how much they focus on giving back to the fans, and it really shows. We were happy to share our gratitude with Stan. Hope you enjoy!
Melissa and Jaclyn are recording from home today because Melissa is sick just like our team, apparently. Or are we assuming they are sick because that's how they are playing? Regardless, the girls delay talking about their losing team and chat about some other things first, like what they did over the weekend and celebrating Melissa's birthday the night before. The girls share about going to Saturday night's game against the Diamondbacks, meeting past fan episode guests Neil and Amy in person, sitting with new podcast listeners Justin and Jerry, and a new young baseball fan Jaclyn befriends. Our team is playing cold and we are letting out all our frustrations. Is last season starting to affect this season? Are our players tired? Are they too banged up? We ask each other and try and figure out why our Dodgers have been so inconsistent! Don't worry, we still are staying positive for things to turn around. You got this, boys!!
Boy are we happy to be back in the number one spot! Our pitchers are coming back, our players are returning healthy and we are starting to see the team we knew we could be coming into this season! After an unfortunate series loss to the Padres, a heckler ignited Shohei and the Dodgers dugout to a game 3 win and a continued winning streak to become the first team this season to sweep the Reds, and an official season sweep of the Padres. And yes, we are okay saying it's a rivalry. It's a rivalry full of attitude and egos from a team who hasn't won before against the reigning World Series Champs - and yes, we get into all of it, including our thoughts on the Instagram live we did with two girls with a Padres podcast.Once we cooled down from talking about the Padres, we highlight Kershaw's amazing month of August, Sheehan's best outing yet, Mookie's defense and offense clicking, all while trying to understand how slumps happen. Will we ever truly know what goes into a slump? We try and make sense of the ups and downs that is baseball all while hoping our team maintains the number one spot!Melissa asks the team if they would be first pitch swingers and the girls give their players of the week. Who is yours? Let us know in the comments! Go Dodgers!
We are full of giggles today, and maybe still feeling the wine from the night before at Jaime Jarrin's annual foundation event at Dodger Stadium. So before we get into Dodger talk, we tell you all about Wine Night at the Ravine and the incredible work the Jaime and Blanca Jarrin Foundation is doing. The girls talk about the event at Legends' Attic last week where they met Will Smith - and laugh about what Melissa muttered out when he walked by. And as they tried to take on the confidence he embodied being interviewed about the upcoming Padres series, after a tough losing streak for our team - Will was right and we swept the Padres! We share all our thoughts about Kershaw's winning energy and performance, Mookie's come back, Will Smith's incredible arm and much more. The girls discuss the talk surrounding a possible MLB expansion and realignment, what uniforms are "fitting" on certain players, Kiké's mustache, Tommy Pham's outburst, and how much we adore Logan Webb's grandmothers, and our own, of course.Another week and we're checking the standings after every game - let's go Dodgers!
We are so excited to have Jerry Hairston Jr. on the podcast today! Jerry comes from the biggest MLB family and played 16 seasons himself for 9 different teams. He was on the 2009 World Series winning Yankees and ended his career with our Dodgers. You can now see him as an analyst for the Dodgers pre and post game shows. We asked Jerry all about growing up in the MLB, what it was like playing with and against Kershaw and now watching him hit milestone moments. We asked about taking BP off Tyler Glasnow, . We could have talked to Jerry all day, and truly loved hearing his stories, encouragement and thoughts about our team right now.But before we get to our interview with Jerry, we had to talk about the current state of our team. Melissa and Jaclyn discuss the Dodgers losing streak, the series against the Blue Jays and Angels, Shohei pitching against his former team, Mookie's comeback and what they think the Dodgers need to start playing better. They get into all their thoughts surrounding the upcoming Padres series and how they feel being tied for first in the NL West. Because it seems like our team is finding ways to lose, the girls had a hard time deciding their players of the week so tune in to see who they chose!
Today we talk Dodger baseball with one of our favorite Dodgers social media producers, Noel Sanchez. Noel is born and raised in LA and grew up loving the Dodgers and Lakers. He started his page @noisebynoel covering all of LA sports during college and is now one of the faces of Dodgers Nation, one of the biggest media companies focusing on the Dodgers. Noel shared with us how working at Chick-fil-A lead to his job at Dodgers Nation and took us inside the day to day operations there. We talk all about where and how we met, how amazing this Dodger community is, and how we sometimes have to remind ourselves to watch the game just as Dodger fans. Noel shared all his thoughts on our current team, his favorite Dodger team from years past, favorite players and why he knows Mookie Betts will turn his season around. We couldn't have loved chatting with Noel more and appreciate all his support behind our podcast. His heart, talent, and passion comes through in all he does. Make sure to follow him if you aren't already at @dodgersnation and @noisebynoel !
Well, it's way more fun recording after two wins than the losing streak we've been on. Our team is getting back on track, Will Smith is on fire, Freddie Freeman is heating up, the HOF ceremony happened, and we know it's only a matter of time until the team starts clicking - and as always, we share all our thoughts. We thought it would be fun this week as we get into the Red Sox series to bring on a friend who has a Red Sox podcast. Meet Bennett Weinschenk who started and hosts Not From Boston with his friend, Harry. Bennett reached out to Melissa last season for some podcast advice and the crossover episode they chatted about is here! We talk to Bennett about his experience at Game 3 of the series at Fenway, the Red Sox uniforms, what he thought about the Dodger takeover, and how his podcast is going so far. Since there is so much crossover between our teams, Adam had a little game for us all to play. After we chat with Bennett, we get into the Reds series. We loved seeing former Dodger Gavin Lux and introduce a new player, Alex Freeland. Melissa gives an injury update, Jaclyn thinks Freddie Freeman played for the Red Sox, and Adam is just sitting back eating his Trail Mix. Hope you enjoy this episode!Make sure to check out Bennett & Harry's podcast Not From Boston wherever you get podcasts!
We are back from the all star break and the fire we thought our team would have is not there yet, and the girls get into all of it. With all the ups and downs, there is always a way to find some good through it all and that is seeing Shohei Ohtani pitch and hit a home run for the first time in a Dodger uniform.Melissa and Jaclyn share all their thoughts on the Dodgers growing IL list, the team not clicking, and the frustrating losses. They circle back to Kershaw's 3K strikeouts to get them in a good mood and rave about Will Smith and Andy Pages. The girls share their experience touring the new Ontario Sports Empire Complex and how incredible the minor league stadium is going to be which will open in April of 2026. Adam has a lot to say about it so they get into a debate about whether a state of the art minor league stadium is good or bad for players coming up.Melissa shares her weekly roundup of what's going on with other teams and fun facts she learned on the broadcast to tell Jaclyn while she was at the game. On the other hand, Jaclyn tells Melissa about what it was like being at Dodger Stadium listening to the crowd boo Carlos Correa. They are determined to be back next week on a winning streak so let's see what our team can do. Let's go Dodgers!Deposits are available now for the Ontario Sports Complex & a team name and mascot reveal will be happening on Sept. 18 at the Ontario town square!!
This is fun episode we recorded in NYC with someone we met at Spring Training earlier in the season and whose life has changed drastically since then, Swilly aka Swilly Sports! We love connecting with other women in baseball and she is an incredible example of how working hard can turn your passion into a career. We find out all about her love of baseball, how she got started creating content and how it's going since landing her dream job at Jomboy Media. As an Angels fan, we asked Swilly her thoughts on Shohei being a Dodger, his recent pitching debut, and so much more. Before you hear our interview with Swilly, we had to come back to our microphones and talk about the Home Run derby, the all star game, opposing team players who stood out to us, and all of our thoughts surrounding all star week.
Your girls are so happy to be back together, but it's been a rough road lately for our Dodgers. After Kershaw hit 3000 strikeouts, the Dodgers have had a six game losing streak. Melissa and Jaclyn express their thoughts and feelings after a much needed reset after being back from New Jersey, and even open a bottle of Slugger wine to help ease their frustrations with their team.Jaclyn fills Melissa in on being at the game Kershaw made history, explaining the atmosphere, the energy and every moment leading up to that 6 minute ovation. Melissa recalls watching the game in NJ and the way Kershaw's teammates and family honored him.Jaclyn is still on cloud nine from being at the game and Melissa can't seem to get over the Astros sweeping the Dodgers. They try to understand what is happening with the team, how many injured players the Dodgers have right now, but are still determined to stay positive. The girls try to get Adam to open up as much as possible about his trip back home and going to the Cubs game. He would rather remind them about the time the Cubs beat the Dodgers 16-0. Eddie comes in toward the end to share his experience watching Kershaw hit 3000 strikeouts from behind home plate and relays what Orel Hershiser told him from the broadcast booth.
