Kristina is looking for a man she has as much chemistry with as she had podcasting with this week's guests. She brought two of her southern and sharp witted Nashville friends on the podcast to give her dating advice and general group discussion on analyzing dating data. An honest and humorous episode, Kristina, Harley Glass, and Lindsey Isbell talk through audience dating questions, personal experiences with dating apps, and what makes relationships healthy vs mildly toxic. You'll feel like you're sitting there with them. Join the banter.
Kristina met quick witted Harley through a friend and a background check, but more on that later. Lindsey is an artist, no but really, with a Mississippi drawl and social skills that will make every CEO jealous.

Part 2 is here!
This episode has been published and can be heard everywhere your podcast is available.
Kristina Hart is back and welcomes friend, actress, writer, producer, Tiktoker Kiersten Lyons to the podcast! They talk about Kiersten's accidental entrance into a Los Angeles cult, navigating Hollywood at such a young age, the heartbreak that brought her to her lowest, and the unexpected highs that followed.
Here is Kiersten's bio, in her own words:
"Here's a good rundown of ME
I'm like if Tina Fey and Taylor Swift had a kid and that kid grew up to save herself for marriage  (well after losing her virginity to her first boyfriend and then finally realized romcoms aren't healthy and real love isn't when a guy changes for you and maybe the nice guy she ghosted is actually amazing). Throw in some trauma informed training and you have me: Surprisingly witty and irreververtantly wholesome.
Ten years ago a huge Hollywood manager told me to tell people I'm Lena Dunham, but with her clothes on, and I did, for a while - but  to be honest I do the work in therapy, and am not narcissistic so I refuse to use that way to describe me now."

Kristina brings close friend, comedian, and Pastor Johnny Giovati on the show. They talk messy Los Angeles church culture, the "what do we do now" era of those navigating post-Covid faith journeys, how to stay encouraged within diverse interpretations of faithfulness, and all the messy in-betweens. Johnny shares some personal news in his journey and lets the world know, we are doing enough and fully accepted. He may have even made Kristina cry.

This episode has a content and trigger warning for school shooting discussion and language.
March 27th, 2023 was a tragic and horrifying day in Nashville after 6 people, including 3 kids, were killed in a school shooting at The Covenant School. The days and weeks after were heavy and fueled with many intense emotions. Nashville residents came together in beautiful ways to provide resources, care, advocacy, and action. Many expressed emotional exhaustion at the intensity of navigating collective tragedies.
On this episode, host Kristina Hart invites Nashville native and local therapist Junie Welsh, MA, NCC, LADAC II to discuss how to take care of yourself when it feels like the world is on fire. They talk helpful inner-child work practices, a day in the life of a therapist, how they both responded post-crisis, and what to do when it feels like nothing is enough. Junie shares practical self-care tips and Kristina is so grateful to have her on the show.

Kristina brings one of her best friends and Los Angeles native Johnny Giovati on the show. Johnny went to Vanguard Christian University in the OC and is a 'low relatable public figure' to many. He is an actor, comedian, and special education teacher with one liners making anyone laugh. Kristina and Johnny enjoy glasses of wine and talk about their days chasing Hillsong worship shows at the 1Oak Club in LA, the dynamics of why Christian influencers stay in the safe zone when it comes to world events or controversial topics, and what they've learned since leaving some scenes. Two glasses of wine in and they pivot to their love of the real housewives, who they consider a real celebrity, what it's like meeting them in real life, and Johnny's future at a roque Kentucky bachelor party wearing Chanel. Stay for a laugh, grab a cocktail or a mocktail, and enjoy this fun episode where at one point Kristina says, "I'm not editing this, they can know WHO I AM." yah, ok.

Kristina brings her dear friend and coworker Seth Landers onto the show. Seth texted Kristina his bio before the show: He grew up in a small town outside of Nashville, he's a flaming homosexual and lover of people no matter their background. He is a Masters candidate at UTK for social work/therapy. He is a Spicy Lil Daddi and split ways with the institution of church and religion, finding a real relationship with spirituality. He did his undergrad at Belmont and identifies as a "traumatized baby." His pronouns are he/him/his.
This episode has a content warning for suicidality and discussion around homophobia. Seth walks us through his journey growing us in a small Southern Baptist Church, his struggle with acceptance within the church and how that impacted him mentally, and his path towards freedom, self-love, and a relationship with God. We love Seth and are honored to have his story on the show.

Joking how she is a recovering conservative navigating her own faith deconstruction journey through a comedic lens, April starts off by addressing the age old question of “why do bad things happen to good people,” with her parallel story to Kristina's journey on parental loss and how people in the church have historically responded poorly to illness alongside black and white thinking. Bring a tissue, and then be prepared to laugh as they discuss how to handle the trolling that comes with saying things against the status quo, April’s upbringing as a child of a famous Pastor, when she decided she was no longer a raving conservative, and being called names because she has red hair and doesn’t like Trump. Chatting about dating and her marriage story alongside deconstruction, they joke about why dating is still the weirdest thing ever, and how to find Kristina a fellow funny man. A full circle of a convo, it's evident the world is grateful April’s voice, as is Kristina for the new friendship.
April is a film producer turned content creator who uses humor to shine light on the harmful, toxic and sometimes just weird traits of evangelicalism. She grew up a pastor's kid, singing in churches worldwide and on several Christian TV shows and eventually worked as a producer for CBN as an adult. She now identifies as a "recovering conservative" and is navigating through her own faith deconstruction journey through a comedic lens on TikTok, Twitter and Instagram.

This one is for the evangelical kids who were forced to watch that "horror" film A Thief in the Night - you know, that movie about going to hell which was also a part of our church summer camp curriculum. Kristina sits down with Luke Barnett, a writer, actor, and producer of the satire film Faith Based. Kristina and Luke dive into his inspiration behind the film, what it was like growing up in a super conservative small high school and then moving to Los Angeles and attending Mosaic Church. Not in that world anymore for over 10 years, Luke shares the fun behind making a hilarious satirical film on the Christian movie industry, something long seen as part of the Evangelical Industrial Complex. Writers, actors, and aspiring producers - this one's for you.Follow Kristina Hart on Instagram: instagram.com/edgykristinahartFollow That's Super Weird Podcast on Instagram: instagram.com/superweirdpodFollow Kristina Hart on Twitter: twitter.com/edgykristinaLuke Barnett is a writer, actor, and producer best known for Faith Based, the satire of the Christian film industry he wrote and starred in opposite Jason Alexander, Lance Reddick, Margaret Cho, and Tanner Thomason. Faith Based was critically acclaimed, quickly reaching 94% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and garnering a cult following. Before Faith Based, Barnett spent nearly a decade behind the camera, with writing and producing credits that include the Abigail Breslin horror-comedy Fear, Inc (Tribeca), Loitering with Intent (Sam Rockwell, Marisa Tomei) and an exhaustive amount of topical comedy content on Will Ferrell's "Funny or Die". Kristina invites one of her genuine friends on the podcast - Ben Kirby, the man behind the overnight viral success of his Instagram account, Preachersnsneakers. Kristina and Ben have known each other a few years and met in LA when him and his wife visited Los Angeles to record his own podcast episodes. Just a normal guy pointing out the obvious, they talk about the mental struggles of commenting on the dynamics of how power and money have impacted modern evangelical church culture. Still a normal guy but now with a newborn son, Ben discusses how his life has changed after announcing his identity on the account, and how he's wrestled with the number of vocal opinions about his account. They mention the difficulty in navigating how to comment on things that propose discomfort, and the ways people assign motive if you do speak out. Moral of the story is even when it's hard, it's important to use your voice however you feel God has positioned you to do so.If you want to know about Ben's process and perspective, make sure to buy his recent book!PreachersNSneakers: Authenticity in an Age of For-Profit Faith and (Wannabe) Celebritieshttps://www.amazon.com/PreachersNSneakers-Authenticity-Profit-Wannabe-Celebrities/dp/0785238832/ref=monarch_sidesheet and be sure to checkout his youtube channel with commentaries, guests, and podcast episodes -Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXYGKqddTHijz1ANAAOWsLQBen Kirby is the creator of the viral social media sensation PreachersNSneakers, where he caused an uproar after showing the values of what clothing preachers were wearing on stage across the globe. Along with growing from zero to hundreds of thousands of followers in just a few weeks, his work has been featured in the New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wallstreet Journal, Buzzfeed, Fox News, Complex, and many more. He also hosts the popular podcast with the ultra-creative name The PreachersNSneakers Podcast. His background is unconventional for this type of movement. He served as a Marine Corps logistics officer, serving tours in Eastern Europe across Romania, Kosovo, Bosnia, Italy, and Spain, leading hundreds of Marines and Sailors to protect the United States and its allies. After his time in the Marines, Ben served as vice president of operations for a tech-enabled services firm, where he not only served in a leadership role but also helped manage a multimillion dollar operation. He holds his BSBA in marketing management from the University of Arkansas and his MBA in strategy and entrepreneurship from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He now works full-time as a business owner, podcaster, and author in Texas, where he lives with his wife, Stacy (with a baby on the way), and two Labrador retrievers, Gumbeaux and Roux. When not making Christians feel uncomfortable, Ben spends his time fly-fishing, playing drums, flipping sneakers, writing comedy, eating all the foods, smoking exquisite meats, trying different libations (responsibly), and looking for new entrepreneurial endeavors.Don't forget to hit subscribe to That's Super Weird and follow us on social media:https://twitter.com/edgykristinahttps://www.instagram.com/superweirdpod/https://www.instagram.com/edgykristinahart/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

It's been one year since I've done my former instagram segment, Christian Weekend Update, where I bring you commentary on the latest in headline Christian news. Bringing this back and now calling it, That's Super Weird, today I offer you the news on some topics: a Christian Comedian's latest merch line, an article drop about what it's like working at Dave Ramsey's Company, Tucker Carlson and a tree, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, the bizarre notifications from a Christian dating app, highlights from the last year, a little hope, and a recap of the last year. We're back.Content warning as sexual abuse is discussed.Article Sources:Nashville Scenehttps://www.nashvillescene.com/news/citylimits/what-living-righteously-means-at-dave-ramsey-s-company/article_c525c46c-56e5-11ec-be58-9b22ecb568c6.htmlThe Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2021/12/08/joel-osteen-plumber-reward-lakewood-crimestoppers/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Kristina and episode co-host Chrissy Baird introduce the coincidences that brought them together, as well as their mutual trauma, humor, and experiences as women in church circles where they were deemed "too edgy." Kristina shares her plan to create a space for less polarization and more common ground. This doesn't come without the usual hot takes and super weird personal stories, like Kristina being blocked by Christian financial guru Dave Ramsey and Chrissy unintentionally following his advice. There may be some discussion of exes, but mainly an introduction of That's Super Weird, the podcast. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
For the last four years I have been a dainty online blogger and comedian, largely writing about my experiences and observations as a single and Persian woman in the world of evangelical Christianity. Almost everyday I posted a joke, and each time I did, I pushed out of my safe little box and allowed both my jokes and my faith to progress. I found my voice not only as a comedian, but also as an advocate for survivors, an advocate for people on their journey in mental health & addiction recovery, and a straight-shooter when it comes to confronting people or institutions abusing their power. It is finally my turn to hold the mic.
