We build that future now; the choices we make today will carry forward to determine if our communities and our culture survive and thrive, or wither away to nothing. Niche as hell? Absolutely.  However, we share many of the same challenges, and all people might be able to glean a nugget of truth, an ember of an idea, to spread into a flame. Onkwehonwe: our culture is to care for one another. Combing the snakes from the hair is a metaphor rooted in our antiquity, and one of the defining characteristics of our people.  The greatest healing we can do is for ourselves and our neighbors, rebuilding that family, that community, one person at a time.  Today, by request, we invite three individuals to the studio from that healing community. Carlee King, Mitch Skidders, and Tara Keysis work in mental health and addictions recovery, and are here to talk about harm reduction. Part of colonization and control are assumptions and beliefs we've ingested, typically as young people, which may turn out to be dysfunctional when brought before the light of critical thinking. Our guests today seek to dispel some of the assumptions and stigmas of addictions, treatment, and recovery. Follow our feed for more discussions in the future.
