Chelsey became familiar with IDEA soon after the organization formed, back when she was a city planner with the City of Edmonton. Her passion for serving the public began early in life, sparked while attending local public schools and actively participating in student governments. In particular, her experience in a high-school teen court program made an indelible impression — and led to a lifelong interest in public affairs and government. Not long after, she landed an internship with the City of Port St. Lucie's Community Relations Department, where she attained invaluable skills and knowledge into local government. She has stayed involved in the City of Port St. Lucie ever since those early experiences. This involvement has given her inestimable insight into local government operations and helped her develop an appreciation for the work of the City Council. Her eagerness to be in the know and make positive changes influenced her to volunteer in various political causes and campaigns while pursuing higher education at Indian River State College. Continuously engaged in the community, Caraballo also is an active member of the St. Lucie County Transportation Planning Organization and the Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities. She was the former Director of the PSL Historical Society and has served on the Keep PSL Beautiful committee. Caraballo is also the immediate past president of the Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities. In 2021, she became Vice Mayor and in 2022, she was sworn in as President of the Florida League of Cities, which promotes cities and local self-governance throughout the State. Since becoming President, Caraballo has focused on her initiative of #CommonGrounds, which urges local and state leaders to put people over politics, access over agendas and success over shouting, while strengthening our communities over the common grounds that unite us. She has been married to her husband, Ben, for 22 years. They have two children, Antonio and Anaiah. Her way with words led her to success as a freelance writer and, eventually, as a corporate executive. Wherever she went, her work was driven by her love for meaningful connection. In 2000, after a memorable encounter with an 80-year-old woman, Jenney was inspired to help elevate the advice, stories, and hearts of the wise women around her. Over the course of eighteen years, she interviewed, came to love, and wrote about six women—collecting precious voices that became the chorus of her first book, Before I Leave. While visiting Selma, Alabama, the hometown of one of her subjects, Jenney met former mayor George Evans . . . who had a story to tell of his own. Their fast friendship charted a path toward Jenney's second book, Selma's Mayor. A mix of memoir and nonfiction writing, Jenney seamlessly weaves Evans' historic leadership with its modern-day impacts. Although Evans passed before the project was completed, his story is told with the heart and attention to detail that only comes through true friendship and admiration. When she's not writing, Jenney enjoys traveling far and wide with her partner, caring for her beloved greyhound and adorable chihuahua, and fishing—either alone at a city lake or with anyone who can show her a new spot! Dr. Ingram is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Exercise Physiologist®, as well as a Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist with the National Wellness Institute. From a very early age she always knew she wanted to do something geared towards helping others. Over time she discovered that inspiring, creating, and managing wellbeing programs was her passion and purpose in life. Within her current role she is honored to be able to help others improve upon their current dimensions of wellbeing from physical and mental to financial and purposeful.
