Pete Matthew isn’t your typical advisor. He’s cracked the code on two marketing channels. He’s netted almost 7 million video views and 4.5 million podcast downloads.
And with over 300 leads per year and growing, his biggest problem is keeping up with the demand he’s created.
Oh and the big clients he’s landing are London bankers while he’s from a tiny little town on the coast of England.
Pete shares his story of getting started in content and how it’s help him create a thriving business.
We get into the details on this one. We pull apart one of his most successful videos and discusss:
- Topic generation,
- Titles & thumbnails
- Critical first 30 seconds
- Retention
We compare podcasting and video production and how he’s woven it all into his business. We also get a look at Pete in the very beginning so you can see that starting modestly can create big results.
Finally, we talk about creating conversions and generating leads from all his content.
This episode is jam-packed with insight. I hope you learn a lot. I know I did.

I've been following Nate for a while now and I really enjoy the variety of his content. But for me what sets Nate apart is his relatability while talking about the boring stuff.

The Augmented Advisor
The Augmented Advisor is a video podcast about creators to help creators in wealth management. We talk to talent across the globe to help other creators learn, grow, and become more effective. We cover insights from creators across different platforms and media to ensure the best thinking is available no matter where it happens.
Media is the biggest opportunity for positive impact available to advisors. We want to help everyone unlock the secrets of the best creators across each platform to make that impact a reality.
How does a latecomer to financial advice generate leads from her cooking show? That’s the curious case of Shelley Nadel, CFP. She is the founder of Financial Success Strategies and Food and Finance.
What makes Shelley so interesting to me is that she’s combined 2 passions, food and finance, into a television-quality show that includes location shoots like Barcelona and Marrakesh Morroco and it’s filmed on an iPhone.
So today we’ll talk about how she got started in video and media. And How she got so comfortable on camera.
I really enjoyed talking to Shelley. She is a bundle of energy and connects with people like she is your next-door neighbor.
We also talk about How she got the idea for food and finance and How it‘s become the only lead source she needs. She also shares some insight on how any advisor could create a unique media presence of their own.

Dawn has grown her wealth management business and brand by extending her client experience out into the world on a mission to help more people. In doing so, she’s built a fast-growing firm and a dedicated following.
The thing that I found really compelling when I was looking at what Dawn Dahlby does online is the thing that terrifies most people, and certainly most financial advisors, thinking about doing video. She talks directly to the camera and connects like she’s talking to a friend. She has made an art out of extending her client experience and advice out into the world in video across all types of media and her firm has flourished. This episode can help your firm flourish too.
She shares how she got started in video and media and talks about what it takes for you to follow her example. She also shares her journey of becoming an advisor and starting her own firm and critical lessons learned along the way. But maybe best of all Dawn talks about why. It’s her “why” that drives everything and can help to drive you too. This episode is packed full of heart and fantastic lessons for any entrepreneur wanting to grow their business and brand.

Julie Pinkerton, CEO and Founder of ClientFirst by Evozen noticed a couple of trends that have likely affected your business in the recent years.
