We’re joined on Celtic Exchange this week by legendary Scottish writer and comedian Phil Differ - the man behind Only an Excuse - as he tells us of his latest creation, “Celtic Da's” - a hilarious and heartfelt new play about what it really means to follow Celtic as you get that bit older.
Also in attendance were stars of the show Raymond Mearns and Bruce Morton - two Scottish comedy favourites - as the three tell us of how the play came to be, of what a "Celtic Da" actually is, and how you get to become one!
Key questions include:
🍀 Is a Celtic Da different from a Glesga Da, and a Comedy Da?
🤔 Is The Younger Generation Of Football Fan Entitled?
🤩 Are Characters In The Game No Longer A Thing?
and much more as we look ahead to a play that Phil describes as "Shamelessly Nostalgic!"
This one's a must-listen for anyone who finds themselves slipping into Celtic Da territory, OR for those who have already been there a while!

After weeks of unrest, various fan groups were finally invited to meet face to face with the club at Celtic Park tonight (Monday, 6 October), to allow all parties to have a long-awaited discussion aimed at finding a way forward following the recent standoff.
While the full outcomes of the meeting may take some time to emerge, one thing is clear: the relationship between the club and its supporters must improve - because the status quo quite simply isn't working.
On the pitch, a morale-boosting win over Motherwell offered some much-needed positivity and could spark new life into the campaign for several players, including Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Arne Engels, and Daizen Maeda.
The international break now gives Brendan Rodgers and his squad the chance to regroup and refocus before setting their sights on reeling in league leaders Hearts.
Meanwhile, across the city, Rangers are once again spinning on the managerial merry-go-round, and just a little earlier in the season this time than many expected.
🎙️ Join Tino, James & Paddy as they cover all of this and more in the latest episode of The Celtic Exchange Weekly.

Celtic left it late but ultimately claimed all three points against a well-organised Motherwell side at Celtic Park this afternoon, with the much-maligned Daizen Maeda popping up to grab the all-important winner and send the fans home happy (well, mostly!).
Both teams came into the match unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership, and while Motherwell will feel they’d done enough to take something from the game, it was Celtic who found that extra touch of quality when it mattered most to seal a vital victory.
There’s no denying that Brendan Rodgers’ side are still short of their best, but as they work to rediscover their top form, the most important thing is to keep winning and, domestically at least, that’s (mostly) what the Bhoys have been doing.
Celtic now head into the international break just two points behind league leaders Hearts, setting up a intriguing top-of-the-table clash at the end of the month.
🎙️ Join Tino & Greg as they break down all the key talking points from an eventful afternoon at Celtic Park.

A last-minute olive branch from the club postponed a planned silent protest against Braga, but in the end, Celtic fans had little to cheer about anyway. Under the lights at a subdued Celtic Park, the team stumbled through yet another European disappointment.
We know the Daizen Maeda question still lingers - but are we now also facing a Kasper Schmeichel problem, a Callum McGregor problem… and perhaps more besides?
Few players earned pass marks on the night, though Sebastian Tounekti again deserves credit as he continues to look like our main attacking threat.
Serious questions must also be asked of the manager. Once more, his side looked unmotivated and uninspired, failing to score for the fifth time this season.
Right now, various concerns run through every part of Celtic. The Braga defeat is simply the latest one.

Tensions remain high between Celtic fans and the club, but as of tonight the story has taken a new twist with the club reaching out to supporters, offering a meeting at the beginning of next week to discuss the ongoing unrest at this time.
In conjunction with the Celtic Fans Collective, supporters have now accepted this offer and will look to make progress following recent protests. On that note, the planned silences against Braga and Motherwell have now been cancelled!
This crucial update broke as we were recording and so we were able to give our most up to date thoughts on the development.
We also preview tomorrow's all important Europa League clash with Braga as Brendan Rodgers' men look to get their first win on the board in what's been another dramatic week in Celtic. And it's only Wednesday!

Although the stats can often paint a different picture, the only numbers that truly matter in football are goals scored and goals conceded. For Celtic (and Hibs), both columns stayed blank as Brendan Rodgers’ side played out another goalless draw this season.
Unsurprisingly, many fans have voiced their frustration at the result. And while it was disappointing not to claim all three points, there are still clear reasons for optimism after this latest outing from a new look Celtic side.
Should we have taken some of the clear-cut chances we created? Absolutely. Could the likes of Tounekti, Iheanacho, and Maeda perform at a higher level than they showed on the day? Without question.
But the encouraging part is that we are creating chances, and there’s a genuine sense that this team will soon hit the form we know these players are capable of.
The concern, however, is that Hearts continue to get the job done elsewhere, and following the latest round of Scottish Premiership results, Celtic now find themselves in the unusual position of looking up at the Edinburgh side sitting top of the table.
The Bhoys will need to find another gear quickly - both domestically and in Europe - with another busy week ahead.

You don't quite know what to expect from Celtic right now - on and off the park - and this weekend will likely be no different as we welcome Hibs to Celtic Park for their first visit of the season.David Gray's side are set to be met with a wall of silence - at least for the opening 12 minutes - as fans continue to protest against the current regime, and the big hope is that this doesn't affect the players too much as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the league campaign. On the pitch there's plenty of intrigue as the likes of Sebastian Tounekti, Kelechi Iheanacho & Michel-Ange Balikwisha look to make their mark on the starting XI, while young Colby Donovan continues to make a name for himself as he deputises at right back. It's also the first time Celtic have played at home since the calamity of the summer transfer window and many fans will want to make their feelings known to the board. Whether that happens before or after minute 12 remains to be seen!🎙️ Join Tino & Joe for the Countdown To Kick off as Celtic play host to Hibs on Matchday 6 of this season';s Scottish Premiership.

Celtic came away from Belgrade with a draw from last night’s Europa League opener against Red Star – but should it be viewed as a point gained, or two dropped?Following a fairly even first half Brendan Rodgers made the call to replace Daizen Maeda with Kelechi Iheanacho at half time and just ten minutes later Celtic got their reward with the ex-Man City man tucking away a brilliant opening goal.Frustration then stems from what looks like a very avoidable equaliser for the hosts as we first conceded and then properly failed to defend a corner, allowing Marko Arnautovic to draw his side level. There would be no further scoring at the Rajko Mitic Stadim with both sides having to settle for a stalemate on Matchday 1, but Celtic can take great confidence from a breakthrough performance by 19-year-old Colby Donovan, as well as another impressive cameo by Iheanacho.HOWEVER, questions do remain over Daizen Maeda’s place in the lineup following another out of sorts display, as well as what seems to be a disjointed midfield three at this moment in time.🎙️ Join Tino for The Final Whistle Show as he assesses Celtic’s opening day draw in Serbia.

Celtic take on Serbian Champions Red Star Belgrade tonight on Matchday 1 of this season’s Europa League and it’s a challenge Brendan Rodgers and his players are thriving on.
Yes we’re all disappointed at failing to make the Champions League this time round but this tournament is one that offers intrigue and excitement with the genuine possibility of progression IF Celtic make the strides that Rodgers is hoping for from his new look group.
For Sebastian Tounekti, Benji Nygren, Colby Donovan and others it’s also a chance to show they can cut it at this level and alongside their teammates they’ll be eager to impress on the European stage.
An intimidating home crowd of 50,000+ will be waiting for the players tonight but that in itself is something the manager has encouraged his side to embrace.
If we want to rectify some of the damage from the Kairat Almaty result then it all starts here.

Celtic are back in cup action this weekend with a short trip to Firhill to face Partick Thistle in Sunday’s League Cup Quarter Final.
Before the weekend fully kicked off though, the club quietly released their year-end financial results on Friday tea-time, and we take a closer look at the key numbers making the headlines, along with the long awaited Chairman’s statement.
On the pitch, the game gives Brendan Rodgers’ side another chance to find the “rhythm” he’s been calling for, as they aim once again for a return to Hampden under his stewardship
And for new signings Sebastian Tounekti, Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Kelechi Iheanacho and others, it’s a further opportunity to impress and strengthen their claim for a place in the manager’s starting XI.
Standing in the way is ex-Celt Mark Wilson who's made a decent start to life in the Thistle dugout, and he’ll be determined to make things as tough as possible for his old club in what promises to be an intriguing cup tie.

It was a day of tension, of drama, and ultimately of relief as Celtic snatched all three points on a topsy-turvy Sunday at Rugby Park.
As planned, the travelling support made their feelings clear before kick-off, staging a powerful protest against the board by refusing to enter until the 12th minute — a nod to their role as the “12th Man.”
A statement that surely made for uncomfortable viewing in the directors’ box.
On the pitch, though, Celtic took time to find their rhythm. Despite dominating possession in the first half, the breakthrough wouldn’t come.
Enter new Bhoy Sebastian Tounekti. The Tunisian winger lit up the second half with a sparkling debut, driving at the Kilmarnock defence and constantly asking questions.
Daizen Maeda’s opener would be cancelled out by the hosts, but the drama was far from over.
Deep into stoppage time, another debutant — Kelechi Iheanacho — stepped up and coolly dispatched a 96th-minute penalty to seal a dramatic 2-1 win.
It wasn’t a swashbuckling performance by any stretch, but it was certainly a day to remember — both for what happened on the park and in the stands.

• Celtic’s Enemy Within
• The 12th Man/12th Minute Protest
• An Intriguing Line-up at Rugby Park
...and a whole lot more!

At a time when it already felt impossible for Celtic to make things worse, the club managed exactly that at the weekend - with a statement that truly has to be read to be believed.
Rather than accepting any responsibility for the summer’s transfer failings, Saturday night’s release instead pointed the finger elsewhere in a blatant attempt to deflect from the board’s own shortcomings - a move which has spectacularly backfired.
In response, several key supporters’ groups have now issued a vote of no confidence in the board, as the unrest continues to grow. The stand-off between the club and its fans shows no sign of easing, and the eventual outcome is far from clear.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers’ side - including the latest new signings - return to action against Kilmarnock on Sunday. Yet with the fallout from the statement still dominating the conversation, it feels like a long road between now and then before supporters can focus on the football again.
All eyes are now on the club’s next move, as they attempt to repair a crisis all of their own making.
🎙️ Join Tino, James, Paddy & Mif as they break it all down in the latest episode of The Celtic Exchange Weekly.

Celtic’s finest hour, as we all know, came on that sun-drenched afternoon in Lisbon on May 25th, 1967.
Over the years, we’ve all heard the tales of that historic day — how Jock Stein’s men stood toe to toe with the mighty Inter Milan, and how they roared back from a goal down to claim the biggest prize in European football.
But imagine being able to say: “I was there.”
Inspired by club historian and author Pat Woods, our new Celtic Exchange series brings you the voices of the lucky ones who made it to Lisbon, sharing their memories in their own words.
In this episode, we’re joined by Maura McColgan, who relives her unforgettable journey alongside her father — himself a former Celt — as they travelled from Glasgow to Portugal.
From the excitement of the trip, to the electric atmosphere inside the stadium, and the sheer joy when the final whistle blew… it’s all here in this very special episode.

In this special episode, Tino is joined by Matt McGlone – a pivotal figure in the 'Celts For Change' movement that helped remove the old Celtic Board back in 1994.
Over 30 years on, Matt reflects on that historic period and draws comparisons to the present day, where many supporters feel their voices are once again being overlooked.
▪️ How do the issues of ’94 compare with those of today?
▪️ Has financial security come at the cost of fan engagement?
▪️ And what lessons should the current Celtic leadership be taking from history?
Matt offers unique insights into fan power, accountability, and why – despite the financial progress off the pitch – there are still striking similarities in how supporters are treated today.

A true Celtic hero, Jim Craig is one of our immortal Lisbon Lions – the 12 men who will forever be remembered for that historic triumph in Lisbon almost 60 years ago.
Now, a dedicated group of supporters have launched a project to honour him with a statue in his birthplace of Govan – a fitting tribute to a local Bhoy done good.
Here Matt McGlone shares the story behind the initiative, explaining how the project came to life and of their hopes of creating a lasting legacy in the name of one of Celtic’s greatest sons.
