In this role, he oversees a team of 35+ teaching professionals, including five head professionals, and manages 100 courts across the campus. The campus welcomes over 400,000 visitors annually, offering 125+ programs that engage more than 2,000 players weekly, and hosts 350+ events each year. Before joining the USTA, Simon served as the Managing Partner and Director of Racquets at Taconic Sport & Racquet Club in Hopewell Junction, NY. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Yonkers Tennis Center in Yonkers, NY, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Director of Tennis and General Manager. About Joe White - Director of Golf at IMG Academy
Growing up playing competitive sports, Joe White is no stranger to striving for excellence while working with a team. Joe was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and the Seattle Mariners, and played in the Seattle Mariners organization before a shoulder injury ended his baseball career. His love for the game propelled him into his next career as a baseball and football coach, during which time he was awarded coach of the year twice, regional coach of the year in 2013, and was a part of five state championship teams.
Joe is also a retired teacher of business education, where he taught accounting, business law, and professional business. During his thirty years as a teacher, he was nominated for the Apple Teaching Award seven times and was listed in “Who’s Who Among American Teachers.” Joe has also excelled in public speaking, having spoken at coaches' clinics across the Midwest, as well as the Nike Football Clinic. About Sadhbh McCarthy
Sadhbh McCarthy’s journey with Taekwondo spans several decades. Her initial foray into the sport began in Dublin, Ireland, during the late 1980s and continued through the 1990s. After a hiatus, she reignited her passion for Taekwondo in Brisbane, where she returned to compete and coach. Recognising the need for higher-level competition exposure, Sadhbh led teams to interstate and international events, securing numerous podium finishes—including Australia’s first medal at a Cadet World Championship event in Uzbekistan in 2019.
Sadhbh played a pivotal role in establishing the Performance Pathway Program (PPP) in Queensland. She has led the development of athlete and coach profiling tools, collaborated with the University of Queensland on strength and conditioning programs, and integrated mental performance initiatives alongside the AIS. Her strategic leadership and commitment to athlete development have significantly advanced the sport in Australia.
In addition to her work in Taekwondo, Sadhbh is a practising and accredited podiatrist, specialising in sports podiatry and injury management. Her dual expertise underscores her commitment to holistic athlete care and performance.

Nicole Pratt is a former professional tennis player and a world-renowned coach, celebrated for her contributions to the sport both on and off the court. About Helen Rice – Professional Tennis Coach & Business Owner
Helen Rice has been coaching tennis for over 45 years and founded the Helen Rice Tennis School in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1979. Alongside her coaching team, she has coached hundreds of children and adults – ranging from three to eighty-seven years old – including many third-generation families. The school currently operates across three clubs and numerous schools.
A qualified Tennis Australia Club Professional coach, Helen has coached teams and squads for Tennis SA and has served as a mentor for Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots and Cardio Tennis programs. She has also presented at both state and national coaching conferences. In 2017, she was awarded the prestigious Tennis Australia Newcombe Medal and has been a finalist on four other occasions.
Helen currently serves on the board of the Women's Tennis Foundation and is a member of the Tennis Australia Coach Coalition. She and her daughter Saskia were honoured to be part of the inaugural Tennis Australia Women’s Coach Connect workshop led by Nicole Pratt in 2022—an initiative designed to elevate and support women in coaching across the country.
Outside of coaching, Helen’s passions include art (she has sold numerous paintings at exhibitions), golf (with a best handicap of 6), learning German, and staying active.
About Saskia Rice-Schaffeler – Professional Tennis Coach & Business Owner
Saskia Rice-Schaffeler is a Tennis Australia–qualified Club Professional coach and joint business owner of the Helen Rice Tennis School. Her coaching journey began in high school as a casual role in her mother’s business, continuing through university where she also supported the business in administration.
She holds a Bachelor of Human Movement (Sport and Exercise Science) and, after considering careers in teaching and physiotherapy, chose to pursue tennis coaching and business management full-time. Saskia has coached in talent development for Tennis Australia and spent time coaching in Germany (in German).
A passionate advocate for coach development, Saskia has worked in this space both within the Helen Rice Tennis School and for Tennis Australia. In 2022, she and Helen were invited to participate in the inaugural Tennis Australia Women’s Coach Connect workshop with Nicole Pratt – a groundbreaking initiative supporting the growth and visibility of women in coaching.

Øivind Sørvald Currently, he is the Director of Development for the Norwegian Tennis Association (NTF), where he has conducted coach education courses for more than 30 years. Øivind has worked as an analyzer for several world class coaches of Top 10 world ranked players. He has for more than 14 years worked as the technical/tactical analyst for Casper Ruud. Since last fall Øivind works as a part time coach educator for the French Federation. For more than 15 yrs Øivind has been the tennis expert for Eurosport and covers on site ATP circuit and Grand Slam matches throughout the year. Øivind has been a PTR Tester since 1992. Became the PTR Pro of the Year in 2014, and he is a PTR International Master Professional. Earlier in his career, Øivind served as Director of Tennis for Van der Meer Tennis at Hilton Head and in Lakeland Florida. Director of Tennis position at the National Tennis Center in Oslo. Oivind has coached tennis players for more than 40 years and has more than 30 years’ experience of using video analysis. Over the past decade, Øivind has developed a program and a method for analyzing technical and tactical factors in the game. He is a coach for different sports at the Olympic center in Oslo – Norway.
