2 podcasts collide as the Foamy Heads meet up with The Beerded Brotha at Smokers Abbey. In the first of this 2 part episode, the homies run the gambit of craft beer on the table before them, discussing various brews. https://www.thebeerdedbrotha.com/
We RETURN AGAIN with Ale Sharpton’s craft beer selects from ATL. We missed a few from the batch he sent us back home with. We start this drinking session with BOLD MONK Brewing and we dive into a craft cocktail from Drift.  Drift is SUPER suprising and we hope to see them in Nashville.
Delicious intent was planned. Boyyyy did it deliver. This episode we get into triple trouble with local establishments and influencers. They created an ultimate plan to dominate palates in the Nashville, TN area. Check out our reactions to the beer pairing provided by Baker and the Beerd! Beer provided by Yazoo Brewing and donuts delivered by Donut Distillery. We are definitely thankful to have been able to snag a six-pack of both the beer and the donuts for this addition to our memory lane.
The Beerded Brotha and The Foamy Heads are back for part 2 of cigar smoking and beer drinking. Sit back and relax as we pick up where we left off on episode 1. https://www.thebeerdedbrotha.com/
We were fortunate enough to visit a new brewery in Gallatin, TN, and to see behind the scenes where the magic happens! Josiah Trandahl is a wonderful host and is extremely welcoming to everyone. We get a full flight of every beer offering and we get to try the seltzer that he brews as well. (Psst, it's amazing!) The whole front of the house has 80s memorabilia from the bar and all the way to the walls. Posters that were rare to see in the US are framed and viewable in the main dining area. Vinyl/VHS/Magazine/Comics and more 80s misc create the surface of what you drink over at the bar. You can spend a good amount of time taking it all in. The building has a super rad and colorful painted wall that you CAN'T-MISS when you drive by it. Local artists have claimed two walls, one exterior and one interior to amplify the 80s era in both graphic and movie themes.  The beer selections are a little limited at the moment as he expands his taps and continues brewing. However, for every single beer we had, we wanted to get an additional pour. (Spoiler, we did just that after recording and ordered some food as well.) The line-up is incredible with his own couple of twists for the styles. The names for the beers are great to read too. You know there's some inspiration behind every release and if I were you, I'd be on the lookout for every drop.  Big Trouble Brewing - A great space to hang with your family and order some food and drinks at. The atmosphere is bright, inviting, and eclectic for all this 80s. Check them out in Gallatin, TN since they are now open!

The Foamy Heads are teaming up with our friends from the Brewery Underground Podcast for an unforgettable 2 part recording straight from the 2025 Common John “Last Beer Fest on Earth (Probably)” in Manchester, TN!In part 1, we caught up with some incredible brewers and friends of the show to talk craft beer, community, and everything in between.Joining us on the mics:Jonathon Pritt, Chief Festival Officer of Common John Brewing Co. — giving us the inside scoop on how the annual festival started, and how it's evolved throughout the years. Jonathon works extremely hard for these festivals, and it continues to pay off- he worked on this year's festival for 9 months! Parker Loudermilk from Fait La Force Brewing — Parker talks about his love for a certain style of craft beer and what sets him apart from other breweries in Nashville, in addition to the other styles he puts on tap for the city. Michelle Rumrill from Marble Fox Brewing — Michelle chats with us about the art of pairing beer with food. What styles of beer pair with certain food styles? You'll have to listen to find out! Chad from Stoke Haus Brewing & BBQ — rolling deep with almost his entire lineup and letting us sip on his brand-new Oktoberfest release! He also talks about their BBQ food truck that stays on site every hour of the day, and how perfect it pairs with all of their beers! For those who listened to our prior episode, Chad walked us thru the history of how he started the brewery. If you haven't had a chance to listen, Chad gives us a little bit of that background here.It was a day full of great vibes, cold pours, and even better conversations. Fresh off the tail end of the Preds Beer Fest and some laughs at the Common John Family Reunion with our friends at the Brewery Underground Podcast, Mitch and Rich are back on the road! This time, we’re stoked to be in the HAUS with Chad Mueller — head brewer and co-owner of Stoke Haus Brewing & BBQ in Nashville, TN.Stoke Haus is the perfect fusion of two Nashville staples: craft beer and smoked meats. Any day you stop in, you’ll find brisket, smoked bologna, ribs, pulled pork, and a spread of classic sides that pair perfectly with their killer lineup of beers. In this episode, Chad takes us through their full range, including:Original Lager (4.8%) – A light, crisp brew made with Tennessee barley, corn, and puffed jasmine rice. This lager be lager’in!Classic ESB (4.5%) – A nod to Chad’s brewing roots, balanced with UK malts and hops. A true standout in the ESB category.Signature Dark Ale (5.5%) – Rich’s personal favorite, brewed with Tennessee barley smoked in-haus with local hickory. Smoky, smooth, and one-of-a-kind.Premium Hazy IPA (6%) – Bursting with Citra and Motueka hops, this juicy hazy is citrusy, smooth, and dangerously drinkable.Reserve West Coast IPA (7%) – Clean, crisp, and hoppy without being overpowering. A Westie you’ll want to come back to again and again.Big thanks to Chad and the Stoke Haus crew for welcoming us in before opening hours and sharing both their beer and BBQ with us. If you’re near Main Street Liquors, stop in next door and treat yourself — or make the trip to downtown Nashville. Xul Beer Co, known for its bold and innovative brews, has been on a growth trajectory lately- and most recently has acquired the popular Southern Grist Brewing Co. based in Nashville, TN. This strategic move has the entire beer community talking about what the future holds for both brands. And even though the acquisition has not been finalized, the talk around the community was heating up, forcing both breweries to release some official news. In a power move that's being branded as bringing an expanded beer lineup, broader distribution, and exciting opportunities to Nashville, the stakes are high for Xul Beer Co.Southern Grist, a Nashville fan-favorite, now joins forces with Xul, which has been making waves in the craft beer community with their unique style and consistent quality. Rumor has it that Xul’s team is looking to elevate Southern Grist's current portfolio with some new twists and maybe even some special collaborations down the line. Talk about merging powerhouses! And what would a typical episode be without diverting attention to other topics because the boys are drinking too much beer?Rich and the Tavour Dilemma:Let’s be real- Rich has a problem. That problem is Tavour, and neither him nor his wallet are happy about it. Tavour's beer delivery service provides the opportunity to purchase rare, highly sought-after brews that would otherwise not be available for distribution in the area. Rich spends more on that service than a guy at a beer festival spends on all-you-can-drink tickets. But hey, who needs rent money when you’ve got a fridge full of limited-edition beers, right?Scott's Promise:In a bold move, Scott promised to bring the crew back some Xul beer from his Knoxville trip. Steve, Rich, and Mitch really hopes he pulls through! 2025 Common John Family Reunion:The 2025 Common John Family Reunion brewery lineup has been announced. This year’s event marks the 5th year reunion for the brewery, and it is promising to be bigger than ever, featuring some of the most sought-after brewers in the industry. We’re talking more than just a few small-batch beers – we’re expecting a full-blown festival with brewers who know how to throw down. Picking up where we left off last week, Mitch and Rich continue their discussion with Cedar Glade Brews owner Jonathan, and their head brewer Robert. This time around, we've thrown dry January to the side and hopped on the "Damp January" trend (shout out to Jonathan for the term)!Because no beer podcast session is complete without... well... BEER, the boys go down the line of Cedar Glade's newest lineup!Beers Consumed:Chocolate Milk Stout Prototype 2: A sweet, but not syrupy, creamy, chocolatey easy drinker that is made with the same chocolate as the award winning chocolate milk. This beer tastes EXACTLY like a chocolate milk, and that is DANGEROUS! This partnership brew between Cedar Glade Brews and MTSU college in Murfreesboro delivers a 5.6% dream.Lump of Coal: a heavy robust 9/1% imperial stout that is both hearty and satisfying. This beer was fully designed to go in to a barrel, but they decided to take a portion of it and put it on tap... Does this mean we're going to get a barrel aged version down the line? Only time will tell!Wintry Mix: Featuring all the tastes of winter--cranberry, orange, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and nutmeg--this slightly sour light refreshing beer is a perfect blend of spice and fruit and tart to warm you from the inside out!Semich: THIS BEER DOES NOT SUCK! Several yeasts were used that included native TN yeasts. Then it aged for over 2 years. The resulting beer is quite sour, extremely flavorful and absolutely wonderful. Brewed in Memory of Michael Semich, a founding member of Mid State Brew Crew. Mitch and Rich are back at Cedar Glade Brews, and once again they're are joined by one of the owners Jonathan, and their head brewer Robert! Taking a different approach this time around, the guys focused on Dry January, and how breweries are weaving the concept in to their business models. In this episode of Dry January, Cedar Glade takes the Foamy Heads through a list of N/A beverages- Whether you're just looking to cut back for a month, make a lifestyle change, or simply support a fellow friend in their N/A journey, there is something out there for anyone during Dry January. The crew starts with a list spritzers boosted with organic Reishi mushrooms, crafted by Little Saints: Paloma: Mixes notes of grapefruit, citrus rinds and a hint of agave. Spicy Margarita: Mixes notes of juicy lime, mild jalapeno, orange blossom; visually yellow like the sunset (colored by turmeric). Negroni Spritz: Brings tasting notes of bitters, orange rind and juniper, with a hint of bubbles. Ginger Mule: Mixes notes of ginger beer, lime and a slight hint of lavender. Taking a break from the spritzers, the guys move on to N/A beers, followed by a CBD infused cider. Collective arts. "Emerald Stout": with no alcohol, but with "all the flavor" (according to Collective Arts), this beer has familiar notes and feel of a regular stout. This beer has notes of burnt coffee and a slight rich chocolate backbone. Clausthaler Dry Hopped: Full-bodied and hoppy with hints of malty caramel, Clausthaler Dry-Hopped is a beer connoisseur’s dream. As the first non-alcoholic of its kind, it brings together German craftsmanship, the world’s foremost non-alcoholic brewing technique, and Cascade Hops imported from the USA. This unique combination makes for an unmistakable citrus aftertaste and an amber beer with real character.
