Affirmations are high vibrating words that will amplify whatever you're currently feeling - whether that be positive OR negative. Do you ever wakeup feeling like you know exactly how the day will go, and that today is going to be exactly like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before and so on? Do you feel frustrated or even depressed because it seems as if nothing is changing in your life? Do you just feel STUCK in a rut and you cannot crawl out of it, no matter how hard you try? In this episode, we continue our discussion of negative and hateful self-talk, how it develops, and how to transform it into positive, loving, and supportive self-talk. We talk about my own negative inner monologue, and the hurtful things I often say to my self, such as "I'm a worthless loser," and what actually happens in the brain when we transform those thoughts into positive ones. This episode is designed to help you to understand your brain and your thoughts better, so that you can understand what's happening when you transform your inner monologue. You will come to understand why these thoughts DO NOT define you, what they actually are, and why they feel so true and overwhelming (even though they are 100% false). Last week, I had a really bad episode of intrusive thoughts and negative self-talk. After working through it, I wanted to share how I manage these thoughts, what I've learned about how they develop, and what you can do to manage and work through your own.
