The Liquid Soap Box Podcast

Hosts Domenic Battistella and Clint Webb discuss politics, culture, society, philosophy, music, art, and life. With the help of some liquid fuel, we get on our soap boxes on topics we are passionate about. We drink some, talk some, and rant some. It’s like a conversation with your closest friends (and a few new friends) over drinks.

Musical Hijinks - Cruise Ships, Hypnosis, Model Trains, and the Trombone

Today we are joined in the Speakeasy by professional trombone player Dwight Dillon-Seminario. We were drawn to Dwight because of his career as a classically trained musician but something happened during the course of our conversation. As it turns out, the stories from Dwight's playing days were incredible. For one...life on a cruise ship is bananas! And the people who work on the ships are a rare breed indeed.  I can't even tee this one up in a succinct fashion...you'll just have to listen.  You can find Dwight on all social media platforms at @themoneyhubby Be sure to hit us up on all the normal outlets, rate & review: Subscribe on Apple Podcasts Follow us on Spotify Subscribe on Google Podcasts Like us on Facebook Follow us on Instagram Follow us on Twitter Please support our show by shopping on Amazon Liquid Soap Box Intro: “I dunno” by grapes. 2008 - Licensed under Creative Commons, Attribution (3.0)

What is the Matrix? The new frontier of Artificial Intelligence and sales enablement with Rob Turley

Today we are joined in the Speakeasy by Rob Turley. Rob is the co-Founder and co-CEO of White Rabbit Intel, an artificial intelligence company helping B2B sales teams sell more with improved efficiency.  Think of it like this...if your company has 10,000 leads to call, statistics say that 9,000 aren't going to do business with you, 750 may engage with you at some time in the future, and 250 are ready to do business now. But which leads are which? How long will it take to make all the calls to find out? What does that cost? And how do you get there before your competition does? This is where AI steps in to help.  We discuss Rob's background, his inspiration for the company, and his passion for business and sales enablement. Rob also hosts the Down the Rabbit Hole podcast, telling stories of true innovation and grit while delving deep into the minds of world-class entrepreneurs and disruptors. To learn more, visit the White Rabbit Intel website or follow Rob on Twitter. Family Court Fragility with Alex Falconi: High Conflict, Abuse, Misperception, and Pro Se Litigation

For over six years now, I have been in and out of family court, fighting for my children in an ongoing high conflict divorce and child custody case. For the vast majority of this time, I have represented myself in court. Whomever coined the saying "a man who represents himself has a fool for a client," never had a custody battle with a high conflict ex! These cases last years, even decades, and can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. This leaves you three choices: exhaust all your financial resources; give up; or represent yourself.   When most people hear that there is a high level of conflict in co-parenting children after a divorce or break up, there is an assumption that both parties are engaged in bad behavior. This couldn't be further from the truth. Typically, there is one parent operating in the normal behavioral range and another that is driving the conflict. Whether this parent is driven by some kind of a personality disorder, extreme emotional immaturity, or an addiction to conflict, one thing is clear...these high conflict people abuse their children, their co-parent, and the courts to get what they desire.   Today we are joined by Alex Falconi. Alex is the owner of theproperperson.com, The Proper Person YouTube Channel, and https://www.ournevadajudges.com. Alex fought his own 10+ year high conflict custody case and prevailed in the end. In fact, Alex even has a published case in front of the Nevada Supreme Court. He is one of the foremost experts in pro se litigation and his digital content has helped many people begin to navigate the court system and begin to win back their connection with their children.   To find Alex Falconi online please visit:  The Proper Person YouTube The Proper Person Our Nevada Judges To find us: Subscribe on Apple Podcasts Follow us on Spotify Subscribe on Google Podcasts Like us on Facebook Follow us on Instagram Follow us on Twitter Please support our show by shopping on Amazon Liquid Soap Box Intro: “I dunno” by grapes. 2008 - Licensed under Creative Commons, Attribution (3.0)

Conversation With a Hip Hop Legend: DJ Skaz Digga - Hip Hop Past, Present, and Future

From it's humble 1970 Bronx roots, hip hop has grown from an expression of urban street culture to the world's dominant popular culture. Hip hop culture is built of its key elements: MCing or rapping; DJing; b-boying or breakdancing; graffiti art; beatboxing; hip hop fashion; and street knowledge (language and entrepreneurship).  In this episode, we are joined by DJ Skaz Digga. Old-skool Hip Hop heads will recognize Skaz as the long time DJ and maestro for Hip Hop legend Big Daddy Kane. With 27 years in the game, Skaz is also a co-founder of the Butta Team Crew, co-owner of FlavorFruitStudios, DJ host of the Doug E. Fresh Show, and house DJ for FUBU Radio, and producer and owner of KingDomeComeMusic and LikeMindProductions. With Skaz we discuss his upbringing in Durham, how he got his start, what it takes to make it in Hip Hop, and the origins and future of the music, culture, and movement. Exploring the Crossroads of Athletics and Politics

From Muhammad Ali conscientious objection to the Vietnam War to Tommy Smith and John Carlos raising their fists to protest oppression to Colin Kaepernick kneeling in silent protest of police brutality, athletes have a long and storied history of using their elevated positions to move the needle on social change. This is familiar space, the place where athletics and politics coincide. And athletes often put their careers and reputations at risk for causes they believe in. In this episode, we are joined by legendary collegiate track coach, commissioner and administrator, and gender and cultural trailblazer Delores "Dee" Todd. We discuss the impact of Title IX on women's college athletics through Dee's eyes, as she was both witness and participant to history. We also explore how athletes use their voices for change, how society treats those who speak out, and what constitutes privilege in our society.   Subscribe on Apple Podcasts Follow us on Spotify Subscribe on Google Podcasts Like us on Facebook Follow us on Instagram Follow us on Twitter Please support our show by shopping on Amazon Liquid Soap Box Intro: “I dunno” by grapes. 2008 - Licensed under Creative Commons, Attribution (3.0)
