Welcome to The McGrady Group: “The Best Questions, The Best Answers.” This episode is probably the best explanation of forces at work throughout the Mideast in Western media, bar none. If you had one episode to circulate to your friends and/or students to share a deeper understanding of present challenges in the Mideast, this would be it. As the world looks to an increasing likelihood of war in the Mideast, The McGrady Group’s Jeffrey Bolden takes us on an enlightening tour of the Mideast conflicts and interests, treating each state as a rational actor. This is no mere survey, but a tour de force of insight that will allow you to see the situation much more clearly. What’s the meaning of Donald Trumps visit to Israel? Jeff takes us on a brief by hard-hitting history of Israel and its position in the world. Trump’s recognition of the capital could create conflicts as he basically takes a Chinese / Norway position on where the boundaries of Jersualem lie. We objectively draw lines of interest throughout the mideast so we can see each state as a rational actor — a view rarely portrayed in Western Press. What’s the obvious compromise with Iran and Israel that we haven’t heard much about in the US? What motivates Saudi Arabia in this conflict? What’s behind the coup in Saudi Arabia? Why might Saudi Arabia draw the United States into this conflict? What does Hamas see and what in this? What’s going on in Egypt? What’s the best way to look at the Mideast situation from the perspective of US policy and what’s the best policy for the US? Did you know Hezbollah has now graduated to a full-out Army status? What’s Lebanon’s role in this? And what does all these disparate interests signal? A power vacuum that needs to be filled? Given the absence of Israel’s rhetoric about this conflict… how can we tell what Israel is thinking it can or should do? Why there’s a clear path to no war and why there’s still a diplomatic chance to dodge war? What is Israel’s role in possibly facilitating a concession with Iraq? And why does that obvious compromise help avoid a war? What’s the best policy for the United States? How should the security agreements be arranged? How well will Kirschner’s plan go over with Palestine? How soon will conflict break out? Who’s most likely to break conflict — and which state reminds Gennady about the Russian Monarchy? What could happen internally in Saudi Arabia in What role does US President Donald Trump play in all this? And if there is a war coming: how soon, how wide, and what would instigate it? What’s a realistic policy for the US now that it no longer has a strategic interest in oil, what questions does that raise? Welcome to The McGrady Group: "The best questions, the best answers." On this episode of The McGrady Group... is there a hybrid war being waged against the US by Russia that Americans don't know about? Our panel is starkly divided, and there is a chasm between the two points of view. If you're stuck for time, go to about 40 minutes into the podcast and hit that exchange first. The McGrady Group asks big questions that attempt to tie headlines to reality, and offers a synthesis of politics, history, economics... whatever we can use to get a grip on forces at work behind world events. Thanks for listening. -- Ian $? www.patreon.com/mcgradygroup Here is the paper we reference in the beginning: http://www.journal.forces.gc.ca/Vol17/no3/PDF/CMJ173Ep17.pdf Here's a theory by Gennady Shkliarevsky about civilization and creativity: http://www.academia.edu/32832435/THE_PROCESS_OF_CREATION_AS_THE_NEW_PARADIGM_FOR_OUR_CIVILIZATION Search terms: Russia, Donald Trump, war, World War iii, World war 3, World war Three, hybrid war

This show features Jeff “Big Data” Bolden, Partner at Blue Lotus Systems Integration and Data Conversion, Frederick “Beltway” Baker, a political theorist with more than 20 years in finance, and Scooter “the Nuke” Licamele, who has experience in emerging market equities. Will Donald Trump finish off the structure of the Republican Establishment? Is the future of both parties along class lines? What was his strategy with Hillary Clinton during the 2016 Presidential Election that kept her on the ropes? How Bannon continually baited Hillary into responding as an establishment candidate vs a non-establishment candidate in Donald Trump. In the interview, one of the most important points: his refusal to acknowledge any collusion with russia, and then when he refused to answer Charlie Rose when asked whether there was an attempt to influence the election. Bannon was unable to provide a clear answer. But what kind of threat is Bannon to the Republican establishment: Who’s he really gathering as his base? Thanks very much for listening. Our previous editions are informative and stand the test of time so I hope you’ll see if you’ll find some others you might find interesting about National Security Law, the Russian Hack of the 2016 Presidential election and more. Welcome to the McGrady Group. “The Best Questions, The best answers.” This week's McGrady Group consists of Jeffrey "The Integrator" Bolden, Partner at Blue Lotus Systems Integration and Data Conversion, Frederick "The Beltway" Baker, a financial analyst of more than 20 years and a political theorist, and Scott "The Nuke" Licamele. Hurricane Maria made landfall September 30, 2017, and while the extent of the damage is both clear and continues to unfold, we talk about how the refinancing of the rebuilding effort can take place, and what kind of US political will there is to make that happen. It seems like there may be many roads to Rome, but they all start unfortunately a little down the road as the humanitarian crisis becomes more prominent in the US press. Do we need a larger, bigger FEMA? There are larger issues in US Infrastructure that can be dealt with that would help close the deal on refinancing Puerto Rico. And how micro-grid solar may be the solution for puerto rico and it may not cost all that much more. We wound up cutting this podcast into two parts - so the group did not sign off as usual, but on behalf of all of us here at the McGrady Group, thank you for listening. This podcast needs support: Digital media is cheap, but it's not free. "The Best Questions, The Best Answers" This episode was recorded 7/30/2017. Welcome to the McGrady Group. A hardline sanctions bill sailed through Congress — some say it’s a litmus test for President Trump. Why Republicans are for it and the president has been hedging for Russia. It looks like the love affair between Putin and President Trump has gone stale, but what is the game behind this game? How was America a sitting duck for Vladimir Putin’s Russian Hack of the US Presidential Election? What would be the cost of appeasement or rapprochement? Why Democrats may be in for a rough ride this next election cycle and what they can do about it. And how World War I is crucial to our country without a foreign policy, in a world without multilateral leadership. Joining us is Gennady Shkliarevsky, the author of Civilization at a crossroads: Constructing the Paradigm Shift. The McGrady Group is Fred "Beltway" Baker, Scott "The Nuke" Licamele, and Jeffrey "The Integrator" Bolden, and hosted by Ian "The Producer" McGrady.

www.Patreon.com/mcgradygroup I’m Ian McGrady and welcome to The McGrady Group: The Best Questions, The Best Answers. In this episode, we focus on North Korea and how real the threat of war is. A week ago bluster from the Trump Administration towards North Korea was escalating. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is now saying he’ll go to the negotiating table to get Kim Jeong Eun to step down his nuclear missile program… but at what cost to the US influence in the region? The New York Times says a Russian-connected company in Ukraine is supplying North Korea with the technical competency to carry out its unusually successful string of test launches: today experts say North Korea is making credible nuclear threats towards the US. Now the State Department says basically it’s going to let China be the adult in the room facilitating the de-escalation — but how does this serve US interests as well as that of the world? How real is the possibility of a war? What does that mean to America as the World’s policeman? Are regional power structures the way to go? What are the lessons of the Korean War that apply now? The McGrady Group today is Jeffrey Bolden, an executive specializing in big data architecture systems integration and data conversion. Scott Licamele, an expert on Russian political economy and a commentator on US foreign policy, and Gennady Shkliarevsky, Professor Emeritus from Bard College and author of Rethinking Democracy: A Systems Perspective on the Global Unrest. This podcast was recorded August 12, 2017.
