Through a vision and inspiration after a life changing event, he creates Ancientz Collectible Art "toy". Howard reflects on his journey of combining faith and creativity. The Sansei Rocker HARRY MANAKA is a retired former Internal Revenue Service (IRS) executive now living in Washington State. Prior to beginning his career with the IRS, Harry played in several bands during what he refers to as the Sansei Dance Party era. Sansei is Japanese for Third Generation. Harry and his wife, the former Christine Kuroda, also once owned a popular nightclub and restaurant called the Baby Lion Supper Club in Los Angeles, CA. With the onset of the pandemic, Harry decided to write his memoirs for the sake of his children and grandchildren, who knew nothing about his musical past. Chronicles of a Sansei Rocker provides an insider’s look at the people, places, and music that went into making the Sansei Dance Party era the unique period in history that it came to be. ASIAN PERSUASIAN, an Asian American vocal harmony group based in Southern California, performs favorite songs from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, including doo-wop, Motown, and pop. Kenny Itagaki (Inouye’s older brother), Gary Asamura and Dave Suga started the group over 40 years ago with Inouye and Jeff Louie joining later. They invited their audiences to relive the “oldies but goodies” of their youth. Helen Ota and Marlene Yamane-Chau joined later as leads! Just want to honor by mentioning that Mr. Suga and Sharlene Inouye passed, who was in the original singing group with Gary and Kenny. In recent years, Asian Persuasion has appeared at such events as Keiro no Hi, Boogie at the Bonenkai, Higashi Honganji Obon Festival, Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival, Gardena Valley JCI Matsuri, and Big Budokan Bash. We thank this fun and talented harmony band for making time for us as their first guest appearance to our show🙏🙏🥰. DAVID HENRY HWANG, presently Tony nominated for YELLOW FACE for 2025 best dramatic play., an American playwright, librettist, screenwriter, and theater professor at Columbia University in New York City. He has won three Obie Awards for his plays FOB, Golden Child, and Yellow Face. He has one Tony Award (M. Butterfly) and two other nominations (Golden Child and Flower Drum Song). Three of his works (M. Butterfly, Yellow Face, and Soft Power) have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. He helped Prince write the song Solo with spoken word. Miranda Kwok is a writer-actor-producer best known as the Creator, Showrunner and Executive Producer of the U.S. television series adaptation "The Cleaning Lady," based on the original Argentine series "La Chica Que Limpia." Produced by Warner Bros. and FOX Entertainment, Kwok developed "The Cleaning Lady" for the Fox Network. Previously, Kwok served as a Writer/Supervising Producer for "The 100" on the CW Network, for seasons 4-7.  She earned a full tuition scholarship at The Los Angeles Film School for their Feature Development Program. With her first screenplay "Song of Silence," Kwok won the Grand Prize in the Slamdance Screenplay Competition. With her first TV spec script, Kwok landed her first staff writer position on "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" on the Starz Network. Kwok is a motorcyclist, black belt martial artist, and trained crisis counselor. Alan Pao is the CEO of TUNNEL POST the Santa Monica based full service post-production company. Having guided over a couple hundred films through various phases of the post-production process, Alan has become one of the foremost experts in the post industry. Over the last decade, Alan has also produced and executive produced over 200 feature films spanning various genres. Some of the upcoming titles include Roger Donaldson’s spy thriller NOVEMBER MAN, the horror thriller IT FOLLOWS, as well as REVENGE OF THE GREEN DRAGONS, executive produced by Martin Scorsese. 2005, Pao founded Tunnel, where he pioneered a proprietary digital intermediate workflow for end-to-end picture finishing.  Pao currently directs various key operations at Tunnel, including film financing, color correction, post sound, visual effects as well as architecting supply chain automation solutions for major film studios. Olivia Cheng is a dynamic actress and activist born in Edmonton, Alberta to working class, Cantonese-speaking immigrant parents. It was they who helped co-found the Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association's Mandarin program within the city's public school system to which Olivia credits for her ability to speak Mandarin and instilling in her a reverence for her culture. She enrolled in her first acting class at age six, and at age 19 she booked her first local commercial. After finishing school, she became a videographer for Global TV Lethbridge, before moving back to Edmonton to work as a broadcast and print journalist. She was cast in "Broken Trail", which was nominated for 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and would go on to win four, including the Emmy for Outstanding Mini- Series. "Broken Trail". In 2014 Olivia booked a breakout, leading role in the Netflix series, "Marco Polo, & recently appeared in SYFY's "Deadly Class" executive produced by the Russo Brothers. In 2022, Olivia starred in the Original series "Warrior" as a slaying, powerful, brothel Boss. Olivia starred in 2022 for another season on AppleTV+'s hugely successful post- apocalyptic series SEE, led by Jason Momoa, again fighting the bad guys!  Her first short film "Dinner with Dex" as a writer director premiered at the London International Film Festival in 2021 and has gone on to win awards at the Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival and the Tokyo International Short Film Festival. In fact, when Larry Tazuma was Editor of Yolk Magazine, they met in Hawaii at the 1995 Asian American Journalists Association convention, and (according to Gilbert) even took pictures together with several other A Magazine staff. In this holiday season episode recorded in Singapore, Larry was happy to reunite with him and reminisce about those pre-Y2K years. After leaving A Magazine, Gilbert led a successful reign as Publisher and Managing Director of Singapore Tatler Magazine. Currently, he is in the exclusive Vogue100, Anna Wintour's handpicked community of creative voices from around the world. Renowned  Filipino baritone ROBERTO PERLAS GOMEZ, is one of the featured guest Soloists this Spring for the Verdi Chorus. He made his international debut as Marcello in La bohème with the Shanghai Opera. And the other Soloists:
 –  ALEXANDRA BASS, Mezzo-soprano, earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music and part Asian!
Soprano TIFFANY HO, Vietnamese singer and acts in her own solos and leads the soprano section at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles; “Concerts for Hope,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting hearts, through music, for incarcerated individuals, those battling drug and alcohol addiction in rehab centers or facing homelessness in shelters, and other spaces. 
We also have SARAH WANG, alto Singer, and finally Anne Marie Ketchum- originally a Singer herself and Conductor, the Founding Artistic Director of The Verdi Chorus, was also the Artistic Consultant for The Camp in Santa Monica for the 42nd year. 
One of the key missions of the Verdi Chorus is to bring first rate opera to the Los Angeles community at the lowest prices possible – and in the intimate and acoustically perfect sanctuary of Santa Monica's First Presbyterian Church, audiences can do exactly that on April 26 and 27, with the Verdi Chorus Spring Concert "Bella Bellini". Led by Anne Marie, the VERDI CHORUS is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus! This program, in the words of Ms. Ketchum, highlights "one of the most beloved composers of the Bel Canto period," and will feature selections from three of Bellini's most beloved  operas – La Sonnambula, Norma, I Puritani and Verdi's La Forza del Destino. We welcome George Hirose is a New York City based Japanese-American photographer. He was born in the Bronx, and teaches at Pratt Institute. In 2013, his project to capture all 39 of the East Villagegardens was covered by the New York Times. His photos were always taken at night.
